Yandere School

Yandere School

Short, fairly easy, but not bad.

Yandere School is about a school girl named Akari who is in love with a boy named Makio. You play as Akari, and in certain “nightmares”, Makio and one of the teachers. Akari has to kill her rivals and bury them without getting caught, so she can confess to Makio.

The game has 9 levels. Five chapters and four “nightmares”. The “nightmares” are basically “school at night” levels. In three of them, you have to kill a specific student and the other has you kissing one.

Yandere School is a straightforwardly short but disturbingly fun high school simulator that surprisingly comes with little twists and creative ideas that gives it an identity despite its shortcomings. It follows Akari Furutaka, a seemingly innocent but violent individual, eager to succeed her quest obtaining her first lover at the cost of jeopardizing his relationships with other females attracted to him. It’s a bloody game of cat-and-mouse as she slays and buries whoever dares stand between her mission and impending lover. Players are tasked to evade being caught and follow specific directions to assure Akari doesn’t fail to murder or impress anyone.

Muv-Luv Alternative (マブラヴ オルタネイティヴ)

It is really worth its #1 VN in VNDB, it was worht the time i spent playing the 3 games. Muv Luv Extra, Unilimited and at the end this one, i might be one of those who really liked extra a lot and was meaningfull for me, so people who wants to play it and looking at this review for a chance, give a try and just stick with it, feel it and enjoy it, dont play it like challenging you to finish it asap, just enjoy the game and you will feel like living like Takeru in their world and understand and suffer all the things he had to endure with, and avoid spoilers, it might be obvious and for some people it normally doesnt kill the thing, but believe it kills like 60% of the feelings if you know what is going to happen, and when you finish the game you can go check all the awesome info about Muv Luv you can find, it is worth it and very interesting

It’s good, but I don’t recommend it.

Overall - one of the best and worst VNs I’ve read. World presentation and history itself were superb. Although scenario had huge dips where I struggled not to skip dialogs about “resolve”, long- and short-term goals, unconvincing drama etc. The same stuff was talked about over and over again. Also, for the game this long there is not enough music tracks, so they are overused. Apart from that - great presentation, action scenes (not typical for VNs) and EPIC story. There are not many FMVs but there are moments where reading it feels like watching big budget sci-fi movie.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive

Corpse Party: Blood Drive

Corpse Party: Blood Drive adds many new interesting gameplay elements to the Corpse Party formula by returning to have you walk around and explore Heavenly Host Elementary School in beautiful handcrafted 3D environments. It’s amazing to see how much was accomplished in that game with simple 3Dmodels, animations and environments. Too bad the story is so bad it makes you want to quit because of its stupidity.

Gameplay

You will avoid broken glass, breakable floors, ghosts and even disarming tripwire traps while searching for items that let you progress the story. Evil spirits can be avoided by hiding lockers.

The third and final entry to Heavenly Host saga that happened since the first Corpse Party.

In a strong case as this one, Blood Drive takes over the predecessor’s first-person view and trades it in for the same bird’s eye view from each main character depicted in the world of Corpse Party and to go along with that, it’s the first game in this series to be in 3-D format, with additional graphic options that seemingly didn’t exist until it was released back in original launch during 2014.

The story follows after Book of Shadows visual novel, with alternate time loop [wrong] end that exists to serve different parts of the events that transpired, however it acts out in a very dark and different manner compared to first Corpse Party. Except the last chapter of Book of Shadows keeps a eye on the true end, and makes sure that it leads to the Blood Drive to where I’m typing on this review. There’s a lot going on with Blood Drive, actually since there was a driving force in Heavenly Host Elementary School that has become extremely dark as the true form of this school. It was that name Nirvana, and it exists to wipe out most of the humanity with desecration and death, madness, corpses everywhere once the alternate future presented itself. Thankfully, it was not too much to handle as Ayumi is to maintain her own protagonist role due to her family lineage that led to Sachiko, the original antagonist of Corpse Party but since converted to a supporting focus instead. Just a reminder, I’m not spoiling too much for those who haven’t tried finishing all the way to the Blood Drive.

Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~

Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~

I can garantee Dies Irae is one of THE BESTS Visual Novels I’ve ever played.

A work about the mystery of the unknown.

A work about the fairness of the mundane.

A work about love.

A work about desire.

A work about the appreciation of life and happiness… featuring super nazis and opera.

Dies Irae is indeed an special kind of work. It is a really passional novel, indeed, but it is also one which doesn’t even try to surprise you anytime. It is quite predictable, really cliché and most of its storyline is basic at best. Yet, it not only embraces its own nature to tell an story which divagues to you really directly about a themes like the originality of fiction or the beauty of the moment, it also exceeds at art, music, narrative and characters.

“What if I said that one’s entire life had been decided by fate?

That every single one of your actions, from the minute to the monumental, stemmed not from your own choices, but had already been decided upon?

That life being a journey of limitless possibilities was but an illusion, and no matter how fiercely man struggled, he stood at the mercy of a long-established path?

The wealthy shall know their riches. The needy shall starve on the streets. The wicked shall be wicked, the righteous just. The beautiful, the hideous, the strong, the frail, the fortunate, the miserable… and finally, the victors and the defeated.

Million Arthur: Arcana Blood

Million Arthur: Arcana Blood

I don’t know why other reviewer says this game is stiff, personally this is one of the most slick 2D anime fighting games i’ve played, you can see my hours of blazblue, guilty gear, undernight, arcana hearts, skullgirls, chaos code for me to compare my experiences,

The more interesting aspect of the mechanics is how this game set’s apart from most 2D anime fighters and as you can see with a sort of call in character “assist” functions (Called Million Knights), and it’s not really a “Tag Team Fighter” focus, so you can focus on your single main characters neutral and their inputs. However the unusual part compared to most tag fighters ive played up to till now, this game with all fighters inputs where ALL backward quarter circle inputs of the three traditional normal attack variation (Light, Medium, Heavy), are the 3 selected assist characters you chose to be your input motion movelist, so no shoulder buttons or micro-button placement for assist like MVC, dbfz, blazblue cross tag. (But worry naught for your selected character tradition inputs towards/forward of a simple quarter circles moves and dragon punch inputs are still there.)

Million Arthur: Arcana Blood plays similar to that of previous Team Arcana games….most notable would be comparing to their last game “Nitro+ Blasterz”. Each character has a 6C anti-air move, everyone has a universal evade, everyone has 2 super moves, & everyone has a cinematic super (a staple in Team Arcana games minus Arcana Heart & Daemon Bride). Matches are fast paced with everyone running and flying from side to side of the screen and calling assists, looking for ways to open up their opponent to do long flashy combos. Online play is fluid and matches tend to play out smoothly almost every time…….for the most part…….I will get to why I say this when I start talking about this games faults like right now. The game music and sounds feels just right with the game although some BGM tends to sound out of place in the game sometimes (Koume seems to have the best theme track in the game)

TOKYO GHOUL:re [CALL to EXIST]

TOKYO GHOUL:re [CALL to EXIST]

Despite TG being my favorite manga of all time, I can’t recommend this game to anyone. The gameplay is very mediocre, and online has been dead since release. If the game itself had enough content otherwise to offer I’d probably recommend it, but it’s lacking in every other area as well. Significant portions of the story are skipped entirely (more than even the anime skipped, which is saying something), the number of playable characters is very limited (with several characters being boss-only for no real reason, and most others not appearing at all), and the character creation is probably the worst in any game I’ve played. Most of the time spent on the game will be grinding campaign mode to unlock the meager handful of weapons, costumes and characters available, which you’ll be limited to using in that same campaign mode due to online being dead.

a Lot of people are turned off by the graphics but if you can put that aside, overall, This game is amazing. It’s not worth a full $60… I’d say about $40 considering how much content there is in it.

The game is extremely difficult, To get Kaneki’s final form (Centipede Kakuja) (It isn’t the ‘final’ but it’s the hardest to get in my opinion) you have to kill Centipede Kaneki in a Campaign match and it is so difficult that it’s fun.

Whenever you are about to die in this game it gets so scary…

Overall this game is extremely good and while $60 is a bit too much to ask for the game it isn’t a total loss either… This game has so much content, All I’ve been doing is playing it the last few days and it’s extremely entertaining…

BERSERK and the Band of the Hawk

BERSERK and the Band of the Hawk

DO NOT BUY this game unless you are a huge Berserk fan (buy it on sale).

Cons:

-Its a game focused on extreme repetition, killing and killing thousands of extremely weak masses of enemies. Slash, repeat, slash repeat every single level.

-You need to play it on hard right from the start to find it a little bit more enjoyable and even then it is almost impossible to lose in any scenario.

-Scenarios have nothing special on them, they are closed, completely plain and need no exploration at all. Very repetitive.

Real player with 92.5 hrs in game

This is a game for Berserk fans, if you’re after a more filled out hack and slash game there are better options out there. I enjoyed myself playing this title but I’m an old Berserk fan. Like similar games in the genre it can get boring once you beat the story and try out the other modes just slashing apart humans & monsters repeatedly, the different play styles of characters and the various objectives do make it more interesting, and it is a great title like others in the genre to play while watching or listening to something on the side.

CORPSE FACTORY

CORPSE FACTORY

//TOKYO, 20XX: Whispers and rumors are spreading through the streets of metropolitan Tokyo like wildfire. Murmurings of a bizarre website have started to pique the interest of more than a few people—people willing to take extreme risks in order to fulfill their darkest desires.

Corpse Girl’s Website supposedly allows users to request the death of someone they know. All that is required is a photo of the proposed victim. Once an image is uploaded, the website promises to snuff out the victim’s soul within a matter of days.

Victims of the website apparently receive a photograph of their own corpse—even before they are dead. Photos are time stamped with a date… Perhaps a predicted time of death? The website’s authenticity is questionable at best. It has become an interesting topic of conversation and nothing more.

And yet… When people start dying in odd ways across the city, the website instantly returns to the limelight.

All of the recent victims were found in possession of strange photos—photos of their own corpses, received only hours before they died…

CORPSE FACTORY is a visual novel driven by pure suspense. It’s part horror and part psychological thriller. The story is told in a linear fashion, with a few key choices to make along the way that will affect the ending of the game.

Started with Dies Irae : Amantes Amentes and then this game. I am really glad that Light decided to be communicative with its west fandom, all those giveaway are really such a good plan in interacting with their fandom, something company barely do considering Dies Irae is pretty famous as VN. Worth to spend your time and money for this

Something draws my interest more when Wilhelm said the Kiss In The Dark Cocktail is using cow blood as fertilizer. This shows that LDO has other way of living aside from displaying their magic power Nazi. Part of funny way to describe the heroine, Claudia Jerusalem, she is pure that you can smell Church’s wax on her lmao. Since that meeting, Bey decides to keep Claudia as his for the sake of eating quality over quantity of the soul, in other words to devour her.

Real player with 39.9 hrs in game

An excellent side story to the original, with the rater bold move of having Wilhelm as the protagonist. The author though still displays his ability to get you engaged in the stories of even obviously evil and insane characters, even more so than in the original story.

The artwork and visual effects has also seen a jump in impressiveness, translation quality is also excellent.

A wild ride just like the original.
