NEKOPARA Vol. 2
(Acutal Review BELOW)
Showed my parent some gameplay.
Dad is proud of me. Mom is not letting me come closer to my little sisters and the cats anymore.
10/10 - would make dad proud again.
UPDATE: My dad increased my allowance after i patched the game.
11/10 - would make mom love me again.
Edit: Since most of you want an actual review, I’ll give you one. I’m not a professional reviewer or anything, just a simple closet weeb :^)
Nekopara is a VN that sets apart other VN on steam, due to it’s animation mostly. To me, Nekopara is a nukige because the plots are pretty decent, but the H-scene are what we are here for. So lets break it down part by part.

After waiting over one year for the sequel to Nekopara to arrive, I’m feeling very pleased to see what Sayori has been doing over this time. I surely took my time to read this, in fact, I used a bit over 15 hours to finish it where on Volume 1 I spent over 25 hours just for not finishing it on a single session.
As this novel is intended to be a eroge, I played it as patched version so I’m not sure how much shorter the “original Steam version” after all is. I would assume that the length of this novel is somewhere between 3-10 hours, depending on your reading style.

Trap Shrine
Trap Shrine is, despite his title, not a game that makes “fun” about sexuality in any way. Quite the opposite, its encourage anyone to understand that love doesnt know any “gender”. Of course its still using some tropes about “Traps”, using this as a joke etc.
As a anime/manga fan this is nothing really problematic in any way and it only shows, that the title is more for fans of this media and not for “gamers”, but this applies to most visual novels.
The Story was very well presented, the artdesign was good and the characters were great. Especially the interactions between Yui and Mishiro.

This. This right here is truly remarkable. In all my years of taking calculus and physics classes at the most prestigious universities, I’ve tackled difficult questions that even the greatest scholars couldn’t answer. For 10 years, I have been searching for the mathematical solution to the question of whether traps are gay. It took arduous research and time, but I finally figured it out. It may sound quite simple, and I couldn’t believe it once I came to the utmost conclusion. I can’t believe the answer slipped between my fingers and stared directly at my face. Traps are gay, and so am I for liking traps. I was shocked, it took years of time consuming research, but I am extremely confident that this is the answer. This game was the part of the final piece of the puzzle for this equation. After observing this game’s key story, I realized two important pieces of information in my notes. Contrary to Schrödinger’s schlong theory, I came to the game with the full intent that these two main heroines were, in fact, boys. Due to knowing this fact beforehand, I could not state that I did not know the observation beforehand, saving my heterosexuality. I report that I understood the gratifications of my actions, making it “a little gay” before conducting research on the game. Another important part of my observation was that I was fully erect looking at the boys “cute penises”. My heart rate escalated to such high numbers that I had almost called the medical staff. Truly a groundbreaking game. The research I have conducted on this game was very essential in my theorem. Spending hours immersed in this game was much needed, henceforth I give this game, a solid 5 stars out of 5 stars, and would recommend this game to any upcoming physicist, mathematician, or any other scientific researcher. This game has my thanks, and I would like to present my studies to the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee for my contributions in physics. Thank you for listening.

Panty Party
At first sight Panty Party appears to be a perverted, anime game using sexual themes and anime visuals to sell copies. However, when I got to play this game it turned out to be a 3D combat game with plenty of humor. It is a third-person combat game in which you are a pair of panties attacking and being attacked by other panties.
The story mode begins with you as Yurika, a high school student who is known as the Warrior of Love, someone who believes all panties should be loved equally. She can also transform into a talking pair of panties. She runs into a floating pair of panties named Baka Panty. Baka Panty warns Yurika about an evil pair of panties named Panzi. Panzi want humans to believe that panties are their one true love. Yurika must stop Panzi or she will be transformed into panties forever.

The Warriors of Love band together to save the world!
Panty Party isn’t exactly about parties or anything. It’s a casual fighting game (or a shooter since some of the ‘characters’ have weapons) with a silly premise.
Story: (Yes, there is one)
An evil panty named “Panzi” wants to take over the world. She and her group of panties plan to brainwash all humans and make them only love panties. Obviously, no one wants to be forced to love something. Our main protagonist, Yurika, meets a panty named “Baka Pan”. After Baka Pan tells Yurika the evil plans of Panzi, it’s up to her and some allies she will meet to stop Panzi’s evil plan.

NEKO-NIN exHeart
Just finished my first playthrough of the game; as you can perhaps tell, it’s not a particularly long game, though that is to be expected from its price. I also bought the H-Patch from the Denpasoft website and yes, I did play through all the H-scenes on my route. Now, onto the review. No spoilers, I promise.
This game is nothing special, Visual Novel wise, but sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for. It certainly was what I was looking for, coming into this. People have been comparing this to NekoPara and personally, while I liked NekoPara better, Neko Nin is still pretty good. It’s got a very light and fluffy storyline, filled with the heartwarming, cute and funny tropes you tend to expect from this kind of thing. The H-scenes came often and sometimes out of the blue, but hey, you’re not playing this for plot, are you? For a VN, this is pretty quality art, and I especially loved that the catgirls' ears twitch randomly when you talk to them. This is a Visual Novel as opposed to a Kinetic Novel, so there are choices to make, but I get the feeling that the choices just unlock different H-scenes.

Initially, I was excited years ago when Sekai Project began localizing Whirlpool games. I was finally glad to play their games since I waited for years (less than a decade, perhaps) to play a full Whirlpool game, instead of their Web Trials aka demos of their games.
I felt that with Neko-Nin exHeart, this was disappointing because there the choices don’t follow a route for ONLY Yura or Tama; it’s another harem game, no matter what choice you pick. The other disappointments about the game is the comedy aspect overrules the “ninja” and demi-human plotline. There is action, of course, but the conflict and events don’t quite make this an interesting visual novel.

Sonicomi
This game is honestly really fun and allows me to get fairly creative while still letting me be a perfectionist in terms of outfit scores. The outfits are very cute. I was bound to get this game because I adore Super Sonico, but I’m delighted to say that it’s also a great game.
Note: It gets repetitive, and the Skip button for story portions becomes standard. I’m about 60% done with the endings though, and there is a lot of difference in terms of later chapters depending on what route you are going down. I’ve found myself doing other things while I wait for the game to finish skipping long story portions. Thankfully the skip goes fairly fast, but for big portions of the game is may take a while still. But this mechanic is tolerable because the “FPS” mode / outfit mode are so fun.

The price is pretty steep inded but yes, it’s worth it.
There’s a lot of text in this one. If you dislike reading skip, the option is there but keep in mind that the story branches and you might skip over stuff you’ve never read (yeah you have to replay it, it such a game). And yeah tbh, there was quite some awsome stuff in there that I never imagined.
The production quality is very high, music is awesome (I can’t get enough of the intro/theme), graphics are perfect for what they are trying to convey and voice acting (Sonico) is awesome. I can’t rememberr being so gripped by a fictional character since playing Gone Home (which by the way is awesome and you should play it). Anyway, just even being in the same ballpark as that game should mean samething.

VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI-
Valkryie Drive Bhikkuni is basically the spin off of the anime Valkryie Drive Mermaid, where you have girls infected with special viruses and are able to power up and wield powerful weapons by……. yuri relationships. Yes, you will have girls French kissing their partners and fondling each other to get a massive power up. Basically there will be a pair of girls, a Liberator, which wields the weapon after the power up, and the Extar, which transforms into the said weapon after being fondled or French kissed. Anyway, this game takes place in an island named Bhikkuni, which sounds oddly like bikini (perhaps a foreshadowing of “plot”?).

TBH I attempted to get a refund for this game after first purchasing it as it was glitching like hell. But as it turns out the main issue (game not starting at boot up) is actually easy to resolve. So if you do this buy this game and run into issues, read this post:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1701674891
It will fix 99% of the problems. In my experience, even after this, the game does on rare occasions still crashes so saving your progress often is recommended.
Other than these issues, the game otherwise functions very well.

Hell Girls
A great game THAT HAS APPARENTLY BEEN ABANDONED WHILE INCOMPLETE!
The game is easy on the eyes, and the Strategy is fun. It starts out way too easy
though, and I got through over half the game without failing a single level.
Eventually, it gets tricky, and more interesting, but shortly after, it practically
promises more levels, but almost two years have gone by and no new levels!
In the forums the developers say there will be new levels “in the near future.”
That was also two years ago as of this writing.

My entire steam recommendations feed seems to be anime from playing this one game now… oh well, time to embrace it.
Hell Girls is a link & match game with a hefty dollop of anime fanservice on top. It’s casual, it’s got terrible, cliché dialogue and the desperate attempts to add sexual overtones just made me giggle and facepalm a little. But despite that all sounding negative… it actually works. It’s fun, it has an up-beat fighting style soundtrack, bright colours and quite a bit of content. The opponents are reasonabley varied, and each does have a skill that makes you play a little differently. You have three characters and you can choose between them for most of the maps; with a few maps being locked to one specific type. You can choose their spells and upgrade them, and there are a few outfits that get skimpier and skimpier (naturally, who doesn’t go into battle in their underwear or a bikini) but do actually make a difference to gameplay.

Sakura Gamer
So I like a lot of Sakura’s line of games. And I’m more than sure that there will be a LOT of people who like this one too.
Do you want anime tiddies? Do you want anime tiddies on more anime tiddies with a gamer girl nya~ aesthetic?
Then enjoy the art
If you want a story attached to it? That’s a bit less so. It certainly has a word count, but as far as quality or substance, it’s lacking. It likes to do a lot of detailed game dev talk, so much so that I’m sure that it’s probably what makes the word count honestly. It also has it’s tongue in cheek gaming references. But besides that, it’s slow paced, and the “events” aren’t worth slogging through the text for.

Y’know, I bought this game for the same reason everyone else did, having already played all the other Sakura games and plenty of other ecchi visual novels, most of which expectedly contained pretty basic, lackluster storytelling and writing with just a bunch of cliched scenes and generic fluff in between the saucy CGs, and they do the job just fine, of course, but this visual novel is a massive improvement in writing quality that is a breath of fresh air. Now, I’m a writing and literature major myself who values a good narrative, but I understand that erogames don’t exactly need to have a strong focus on quality writing beyond making sure the grammar is accurate and there’s no typos, so I wasn’t expecting anything special going into this. To my suprise, the change in writer (I believe the writing of this game is named “waffle” or something like that) made a big difference right away, and a lot of the inner monologue and dialogue is far more engaging and charmful. Just the plain improvement in humanizing and adding character to the dialogue and a vastly improved word choice among other influences makes the text much easier to digest, rather than something boring that you tolerate enough to get which characters have which personalities archetypes and to follow the main ‘plot’ to a degree until you become too bored and skip ahead to the next CG. The direction of the story is far more dramatic and engaging than prior Sakura games, due to the more serious tone the characters' physical and emotional conflicts are portrayed, and, just, like, the general writing quality of everything a typical story has is much, much better this time around. It’s not just a bunch of fluff. Even if the narrrative it tells is simple, it’s executed well.

Criminal Girls: Invite Only
CG:IO (CG from now on) is a hard game to grade. There is a JPRG element, but the game’s best known for its… titillating content, though it’s all suggestive tease due to self censoring by the publisher. You need to download mods to see any… naughty bits.
The premise is simple… You have been assigned as “corrections leader” under supervision of Ms. Miu and your job is to “train” several of the “criminal girls” whose souls are tainted, but maybe you can help redeem them with a little training. If you manage to lead them out of “hell”, fighting the way out against all the escaped prisoners, and perhaps some other girls who didn’t want to be redeemed, you may yet make it back into the real world…

For anyone just roughly browsing the review sections who is more or less set on buying this game anyway, here are two pointers for when first playing the game:
a. the game may be a little slow to boot up at first, since it needs to install some additional stuff first. And it takes a little longer than most games to do so, for some reason. So just be patient in stead of clicking the “play” button repeatedly. It will boot up when it’s ready;
b. for the first time, the game’s language will be set to Japanese. Never fear, though: you can simply go to the options screen (select Tab or I) and select English.
