After I met that catgirl, my questlist got too long!

After I met that catgirl, my replays of this game got too manifold!

It’s no joke actually, I have spent an obscene amount of time on this game and do not regret going for completion. It’s the first time in a while that I felt so motivated for a rather simple RPG and it’s all due to the good writing and enjoyable combat system. I want to explain why exactly this game is worth buying and how it stands out among its contemporaries.

Story:

You play as Vera, the charm witch, a woman who is ever positive and seductive, but also compassionate and thoughtful. Everything begins on the day that she meets that catgirl, Tea, who arrived in Morpheya under the Elder Tree from a lighning bolt. The catgirl claims to be from another world and quickly the duo starts their own adventurers guild to get their hands on information about how she can return to her mysterious home “London”.

An enchanting game with dangerous lips++ ~(˘▾˘~) No Spoilers

STORY: 9/10 From the very beginning to the very end, I was entertained and engaged in Vera and her friend’s journey. The main story is well paced, clever, and hilarious with an intriguing tale of love and overcoming hardships. With five main girls, each one having a unique personality, voice, and reason for being there. I played three routes, Sunny, Tea, and Celia and got all of their endings. Each ending for each route is unique, giving you different information and hidden story bits, which encourages multiple playthroughs. I won’t spoil anything here but trust me, each route is vastly different from the other. If you want the entire story, you have to charm each girl which will result in 5-6 different playthroughs, each being at least 15-30 hours long. Without new game+, it is a bit tedious to do each and every route again so be aware and make a lot of saves.

This was an absolute delight to read. There’s some humor, character development and a good amount of drama. There is rarely a dull moment between the 3 characters. All of this is good on its own, but the voice acting elevates the whole thing to the next level and it is all on point. The only real negative is a lot of the BGs look like they’re in various stages of a sketch instead of finalized artwork. Overall, an exceptional visual novel and all for the price of Free.

Recommended to story lovers, people who want to see LGBT-led games, people who enjoy short games.

Long(er) version:

Ceress and Orea has been on my radar since the developer first started her dev thread over at RMW. Reading and seeing the amount of progress she made over all those months, left me very excited for the final product and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint.

I recently received this game for free as a curator connect offer for my group Visual novel, JRPG, Anime. This RPG Maker-based game by Plueschkatze features a female protagonist Ceress who was sentenced to death for falling in love with a noblewoman Orea as her personal bodyguard. Ceress was forced to jump down a high cliff with an offer of a full pardon if she were to survive such a fall.

Ceress would wake up inside a cave that happens to be the realm of an unnamed deity where if she is resourceful enough to reach the exit of the cave, she would be allowed to leave the place without losing her soul. As Ceress makes her way through the cave, she would recall fragments of her memories with Orea.

It’s very rarely I stay up until past midnight to beat a game, let alone Visual Novel. This game just did it.

eden is a kinetic visual novel with almost no required input whatsoever from the players, as the game naturally flows by itself. No branching story, no multiple endings etc. Be it so, it is brilliant on its own. The characters, the story, the soundtrack, all fit together.

Many people say the artwork or graphic is stunning. It is true. There’s a real art involved in this game. While it’s just a mere 2D pictures, the backgrounds of each frames are nicely put together and designed, smooth flows between the transitions. The characters arts are what you can expect from Japanese games, pretty. Moreover, there’s a nice design like characters eyes' blink and their expression changes, lips move in sync accordingly when the mood changes/talks. Simple touch, but meaningful - it makes everything as a whole more lively. Although yes, I do have one complaint, that is - the eyes of those chars are a bit too big overall, makes it a bit weird.

This review is more of an emotional sight on the game, than rather pointing out the aspects of the game and it’s mechanics etc.

A love that even made it past the end of the world.

I think the first thing I want to mention about Eden* is that this is a once in a life time experience.

I have spent a lot of my time reading stories/books or whatever came under my eyes, but Eden* stood out from everything I have ever experienced.

I have to say that I’m still new to the Visual Novel genre and after I played two Sakura Games, I kinda thought that all the Visual Novels point out in a more “feminine sexy direction”.

LoveSick Darlings

LoveSick Darlings

LoveSick Darlings is a grounded, realistic, emotional story about a close group of friends at school growing up and trying to understand their own feelings - as well as the feelings of those around them. You play as Syd, a sixteen-year old boy who goes to Foster Hill High - a school in a quiet Australian town. The school year is coming to a close and Syd has to decide whether he confesses his feelings to his crush - all this while juggling the several other friendships and potential love interests in his life.

Such as Maisy, the wild and outgoing girl who lives on the same street as Syd and calls him her “best friend.”

Jayda, the sweet and awkward artsy weeb who loves anime and video games and thinks the world of Syd.

And of course the cool and intellectual Steph, who loves books and music… and who happens to be the person that Syd has been crushing on all year.

Spend time with these characters in a close-knit friendship group over the last four weeks of school, developing your friendships potentially into something more! But be careful, each decision you make can affect the entire friendship group. Spend too much time with one character, and another may get jealous. LoveSick Darlings is packed with group conversations where you get to know characters by watching how they interact with others as well as yourself.

Determine the fate of Syd and all his friends as you help him make some of the hardest decisions in his life. Choose whether to confess your feelings, accept or deny the feelings of others, sabotage or repair broken friendships, and get to know Syd’s friends in a way that he never did before. Enjoy these last few weeks of the school year while they last, and make your limited time count to the fullest!

I love this romance game, it’s also family friendly.

I love all the stories except for Rose’s, not because of Rose her self,

but how the develiper wrote her story, it seemed to harsh towards her.

The protaganest is so sweet to Iris and Lily, but harsh and insensative to Rose.

Im not sure if the develiper will re-write her story (to be more loveing)

But other then that, it’s a Great game!

First you should be able to accept the style of painting, then you can consider whether to buy it.

The story is simple and choices are few. Four hours are enough to finish the one story of it.

Not my cup of tea, but it is a good English learning material. The conversation is simple for beginner and you can listen to it many times.

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

I’ve always liked Yuzusoft VNs, and was initially a bit surprised that they were trying their hand at an all-age game, I still bought it, of course, because Yuzusoft is fucking great. After playing through, I found that it had the typical interesting world that sets it a bit apart from the generic VN, along with interesting writing, and nice characters. After completing the game, and both after stories, this VN doesn’t have too much content compared to other Yuzusoft VNs. It’s the equivalent of just playing the common route, and maybe a chapter of a character in terms of content. Still, I certainly enjoyed this game, especially considering the fact that I could load the files onto a USB, and play it at school.

PARQUET can be described as an experimental venture. But like with all prototypes, it has its imperfections.

PARQUET still has an intense level of intimacy between its three lead characters. And like with all Yuzusoft titles, its cute heroines are still as charming as par for the course.

PARQUET may not have the most engaging plot-line and hilarious interactions, but in its heart-to-heart moments and its last 2 chapters, there are strong emotional cores–exploring and sharing their own thoughts about their own life and happiness.

Sakura Forest Girls 3

Another of those visual novels that people love, hate, or love to hate, Sakura Forest Girls 3 continues the tale of two friends looking to find their lost friend. This time, they stumble across a princess…

Suggest getting on discount or in the bundle (maybe both). While decent enough, it is a bit short.
