The Sealed Ampoule

The Sealed Ampoule

An interesting variation on mystery dungeons.

The Sealed Ampoule is the newest game from CAVYHOUSE games and it is just as beautiful and strange as their other titles. Fans of mystery dungeons won’t find a ton of challenge here but it is a nice pared down experience, it’s pared down in that there is only the one dungeon and look of it doesn’t really change save for the ever shifting background colours, also while you do always start at the first floor your levels don’t reset and you accrue experience and stat upgrades that help each subsequent run. In another deviation from the usual mystery dungeon, there are no upgradeable weapons or clothing instead you upgrade the dungeon itself and your skillset. The characters are charming and while the story is simple it’s nice to solve a mystery.

Like the other Cavyhouse games, this is a very aesthetic, weird and experimental game. If you played Forget me Not? It’s about twice as long and grindy. Still worth playing if you’ve liked other Cavyhouse games.

If you’ve not played something by Cavyhouse before… this would be a good starting point, as it’s the first one timewise? If you’re just looking for a roguelike, and have played a bunch of those this likely won’t be super interesting to you though. it’s fairly low stakes (die = resources lost and that’s about it), but there’s also not like weapon/armor upgrades. there’s just skills and upgrading the dungeon itself. And loot is all recovery items, tools or materials. If you want a very relaxed, and less complicated roguelike though? This may actually be a perfect fit for you.

Exorcised

One of the best TD games I played for sure!

It’s easy going, it has elements I’ve never seen in any other TD game (like the genius alliances), gives the game a whole new meaning and fun, I also love the upgrades in and out of the levels, the whole theme is fun, the characters (towers) and their looks are awesome, I simply love it.

Hope you guys are planning to keep updating the game with more towers, powers ups and such!

Exorcised is a newly released Tower Defense game.

The game is set in a Japanese fantasy world, with many versions of Japanese females clothed in cultural Japanese style as the towers, and with demons as the enemies, no story or known plot in the game, so lets move on.

The game is pretty straight forward, like many other Tower Defense games, the enemy move on a fixed path from one side to the other and you, as the player, need to place those sexy female towers to eliminate them.

There are several kinds of towers, each with somewhat different stats and characteristics which could be upgraded later on, and some different enemy types and bosses.

Just finish the game and loved it. Other than bugs like how we can’t go in the power castle I haven’t seen any other bugs it’s fun if you give it a chance. oh the Reincarnation Requirements after 3rd Gen i can’t see it for some reason. I found another bug where I can’t reincarnate as a wolf.

There has been a patch since my review that will likely invalidate it. However I haven’t had time to go through and try the game again. I will still leave this here for comparison to the current game and see what’s changed and what still needs polish/refinement

Only reason I currently recommend the game is because I’m a sucker for monster MC and can see some potential here.

However, that’s all it has going for it, and it barely even does that, let’s break down what the game has.

Pros:

Reincarnation system- unique from other rpgs I’ve played, offers the promise of different playstyles and advancement.

Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden

Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden

A resource management, clicker, visual novel game, my, oh my. And believe it or not in this game these three genres work well together.

Definitely not the usual type of resource management game since one plays as Organa, apprentice to Irene, the owner of a body organ shop who Organa calls Master. Organa works in the greenhouse behind the shop growing and cultivating (on trees) body organs: kidneys, hearts, stomachs, livers, and colons (intestines). As the organ trees grow, they level up (top level 100). As they grow the organs becomes better quality: average, great, excellent. Of course Organa is tasked with filling orders of certain quantities of each organ from customers of the shop. Every chapter introduces a new organ and the sixth chapter is an ending. The credits roll and Organa can return to shop to complete unfinished tasks and gets a whole set of new ones. This after story gaming is basically for that visual novel “true” ending, and for achievement hunters and completionists since this part is a grind. A very easy grind, but still a grind. Also in this after the (first) ending part is the merchant storyline.

Let’s be real, this game is like another Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing type of game. Don’t get me wrong, I am a HUGE sucker for those games. Can play them all day every day without getting bored. The click based system is one that isn’t a stranger to us all. We’ve all dealt with a game that had to deal with sitting and feel like you are bored to death, but in reality it starts to become a relaxing time.

You aren’t feeling rushed, and you can go at your own pace on evolving the storyline or not. Seriously, if you wanted you could probably just stay on the first chapter to get all the achievements in the game - well some of the achievements. The color palette that’s used for this game aren’t overbearing on your eyes, they are bright, but also toned down to the pastel kind of deal that still catch your attention, without making you wanna gouge your eyeballs out. The artstyle is simply well done to the point of having the different gradiant variations down to the T. I am a sucker for that too. Theshadingtoo!

Click Legends

Click Legends

Not a clone but greatly inspired by Clicker Heroes.

The main problem with this idle game is that there is too much RNG which makes your progression uneven. There are runs where you’ll reach lower levels than before with higher DPS.

Does not cost much but is not much worth either.

Click Legends is a small clicker and idle game that borrows some features from the first game of the developer “God Awe-Full Clicker” but this time it is without microtransactions.

The graphics are kinda simple and nice.

You level up your heroes but only up to Level 150 and then do a small reset on them to raise their damage. For that you need “Bloodstones” that you also need to prestige your whole game, so keeping some is a good idea, as they come quite rarely except for the Statue that brings sometimes some with it.

I am in love with this game! The mix of 2d, 3d and pixel art is one of the most adorable visuals I have seen in a while :D

Then there´s the combination of time management with budgeting plus juggling different recipes in the menu and that adds to the difficulty that made me struggle for a bit before getting the hang of it (but I´m still almost always broke XD)! The price this game is set at I´d say is more than fair and my kudos to the people that put together this charming game :)

It’s a cute game and I’m having fun with it.

I think certain things could be made clearer to the user though. I failed my first run and almost wrote a negative review based on the experience. It was my fault but I feel like if I had better visual cues I wouldn’t have mad the mistake I did. I spent too much money. I didn’t realise I was buying from the more expensive market cause foolish me thought it would have it’s own tab or something. I was much more aware of the exclamation mark and red numbers second time around.

Life Simulator

I’m coming at the review from having played it before and after the multilingual client was released. So far it feels like a modern take on Alter Ego, even if it differs in the presentation.

The sound isn’t grating on the nerves, but it works without having anything memorable. The graphics also have their own style which I do like so far.

Some of the trouble I’ve had were mainly bugs and awkward dialogue. Not bad enough to make me give up on the game, but enough to give someone a heads up.

The game has become a lot more playable after the addition of English to the client. To be honest there are bugs and errors which I expected. There are sections where the text is rather awkward during the dialogue. Given there are sections of the game that are still untranslated or awkwardly localized, it’s still playable to the point where advancing will take some time.

I’ll be honest when I first played this I found it to be a nice little time passer. I was able to look past the hit and miss translation as you could usually get the jist of the conversation anyway. However that being said the game suffers for some pretty major problems if you’re playing the game in English:

  • The game freezes when trying to meet the first friend at the Restaurant when playing as the female lead character. (This has been reported numerous times with the reply typically being that it is fixed, even though the bug iiis still in the game)
