Simply awesome, and super funny :)

This game consists of lots of trivia questions and pop culture references, all packed in an awesome cartoonish graphic setting!

There are literally tons of different questions, mainly revolving into as I said pop culture, cartoons, movies, anime and so on, and you’ve always got to choose between four different answers.. the rounds are made of nine questions each, but the most important thing is that.. everything’s always enveloped in a story!

A funny one, with different endings and so on!

Excuse me but I have to write this out loud:

THIS GAME IS AWESOME.

Yes, that’s a highly subjective assessment, but let me tell you why I already love it after playing it just for a little while. Of course, this short review contains SPOILERS, so be aware of that before continuing to read my thoughts.

Running on the Unity engine (and being proof that there ARE good games using Unity) the graphics are kept simple still. Possibly there could be more (shadows, lights and all that) but this game doesn’t need it, as it works great with its simplistic, fun and cartoonish style. If you haven’t seen pictures or a trailer, think of South Park but slightly different. Being quiz-themed you’ll very often encounter text boxes flying in but there’s way more well done “retro pixel art” in this game than one might assume at first. Depending on which “story” you’re playing there are some simple and yet captivating backdrops, urban scenery or even stuff in space. I’m still a sucker for nice “old school” game art, and the graphics in this game work extremely well for me.

Hollow Bliss

Hollow Bliss

Your experience in Hollow Bliss depends on your choices, deaths, and consequences. Take control of five high school friends who end up trapped within a dark home, its twisted residents out to get them. As you explore the house, the space changes around you, and how you interact with it and respond to its dangers will make an impact on your chances to make it out alive. Everyone can die, but more than that, the imprint they leave can either benefit or hurt the chances of the others also trying to survive. You’re in a horror scenario, it’s up to you to make your choices of how to get out of the situations you find yourself in.

After the death of his childhood best friend, Chris Lansan struggles to feel normal with his friends, old and new. There was a comic he and his deceased friend were working on before her unfortunate passing, but it was in her possession when she died. He goes with his group of friends; Dustin, Julia, Hailey, and Sarah, to ask his mother if he could take the comic as a memento. After strange hostility from the mother towards Chris, seeing how important this is to Chris, Dustin proposes they sneak in when the mother goes out to find and fetch the comic. When they do so however, they find themselves trapped within the home, and unfortunately not alone.

Hollow Bliss is a gut wrenching 2.5D horror narrative game experience that plays out differently depending on you.

FEATURES

  • You’re in control of a horror scenario, who lives and dies depends entirely on you.

  • 32 endings, with various alternate ways every scene in the game can play out.

  • Every character has a unique ability, which if they die, is lost to you.

  • The game remembers previous runs, the past may come back to haunt you.

  • Twisted and strange horrors that’ll leave you guessing and what could possibly come next.

  • An original soundtrack and positional 3D audio adds to a thick atmosphere, best experienced with headphones..

  • A cast of characters who have more to them than you may initially assume. They may win you over.

Pulling down the moon would be easier.

Lamia Must Die

Lamia Must Die

(If TL;DR, then watch my less eloquent review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mho_vEQHzIw )

I spent a long time trying to elaborate on what I want to say about this game, but after hours of thinking, I realized it would be best if I put it thusly:

1.This game’s mechanics are really good and consistent with little to no gameplay glitches

2.The graphics look nice but are not accurately displayed or scaled correctly in a consistant manner at any resolution it offers

3. Voice actor audio can cut out but at least it’s consistent when it does (ie the same audio cuts off in a cutscene no matter how many times you play through it)

Lamia Must Die. . .Eventually. . . Just as soon as I stop dying.

Lamia Must Die is a game of adventure wherein you are not just one person but rather four people. You can change two of your party members and their styles are definitely unique. You adventure into a dungeon and skip all the trash tier monsters completely. The only game play is a big epic boss battle.

Graphics and Art

The graphics are not that good, but it’s excuseable. This game runs mainly on artwork and pictures anyway and it’s played through various GUI’s, which all look and feel rather fluid and work well. The artwork itself is rather nice and sometimes kind of mediocre, though certainly better than I could care to draw. I’m not completely convinced that some of the pictures of the characters drawn were drawn by the creators of the game or anyone they hired. I don’t think they were commissions and rather just something free. If they were drawn by the creators then I ask why there is no consistency in the art work. Some of it looks great while others look like it was drawn by a complete ametuer who had way too much interest in tits. I of course refer primarily to Lamia.

Not Another Dungeon?!

Not Another Dungeon?!

I have played this game for quite some time now, and it had me hooked for a good time, the gameplay loop is fun, i really like the easier quests to contrast the harder achviements, i have been working on getting all achivements for a while now, but i sadly don’t have that much time anymore to try and get them all, but i can usually get a run or two in occasionally. It’s a nice break. If there is one thing i’d complain about is that one achivement that i don’t have is a bit of a grind but it’s not that bad when you can consistantly get to the top. All in all it’s a fun game, i recommend this game to people who like Roguelite Card games. Looking forward for updates in the future.

Blood Nor Water

Blood Nor Water

Heroism and Tragedy.

The Old King is dead. With hunger and unrest rising throughout the land, the King’s nephew and Steward seizes the empty throne from his cousin, who responds by invading at the head of a foreign army. In this setting of chaos and confusion, take command of a small company of young fighters as they struggle to understand and survive the conflict, and bridge the gaps that civil war cuts between friends and family.

Strategize your way through a variety of different maps and spaces with a small party of diverse characters. Gather arms and recruits to strengthen your party. Build each character to maximize their strengths and handle different kinds of enemies, but be careful: if a character falls on the field of battle, you may be unable to get them back.

One Way Heroics

One Way Heroics

It’s been a while since I’ve played the base game, so this review might contain some bits from the DLC.

First of all, this game is a relatively simple roguelike with a twist: the world is constantly being consumed from the left, forcing the player to continue moving to the right. The base objective for winning is to defeat the Demon Lord, who will generally pop up to fight you after certain amounts of time has elapsed and retreat in a bit if neither is dead. There’s a couple of other winning conditions available, but it’s definitely a spoiler. The Plus DLC adds some alternate campaigns to fighting the Demon Lord, which increases the winning conditions even more.

So, I bought this game a long time ago thinking it was going to be a game where I ran in one direction trying to stay alive.

I was not disappointed in the slightest.

One-way Heroics offers some of the dumbest, funniest, and rediculous gameplay I have ever seen from a rouge-like game.

Slight spoilers below, you have been warned

-Hey, I know you’re new, but you’re supposed to save the world from the left side of the screen since this is sidescrolling and all, and for some reason the left side of the screen is eating everything. GOOD LUCK!

Burned Land

Burned Land

Burned Land is a niche game, and a little gem to me.

At first sight it might seem a little bit empty and obscure. Then it will seem very hard, even unfair. But if you push forward, you will discover a game with a very original approach, very rich and permissive in the ways you want to shape your kingdom and face the gods.

In this game, you not only build units and facilities, you will also “monitor” your population (literacy, devotion, nobility, sedentary, etc.), so they will provide you what you need and when you need it.

Real player with 31.9 hrs in game

It is a pretty rough game, both in terms of UI and difficulty. The UI will hopefully get some polish from this one-man dev team, and perhaps the difficulty as well, but the difficulty certainly needs the polish a lot less. The dev is still pushing out regular updates, thus my recommendation for this Early Access game.

I made it to Turn 194, after narrowly dodging a very early game defeat. The early game near-defeat came about as my village almost starved due to a famine brought on by the gods. The entire point of this game is that the larger you grow, the more interest the gods have in stopping you from growing.
