How Stories Die
Did you ever wonder how stories die? It’s not hard and it’s certainly not art. You just have to kill them. With a rather bad storytelling, tons of mistakes, continuity issues, missing or too many words and a very broken save system. You know it’s bad when even the process of saving the game is a frustrating, luck-based experience.
I’ll go over the many flaws in detail in a moment, but first let me mention the few things that weren’t terrible. The music is great and the characters look beautiful, featuring many different facial expressions. The story has a few good or funny moments. Occasionally. It’s not a bad experience from start to finish, just something where the cons outweight and thus I can’t recommend it.

This is a $20 Visual Novel you can read for free.
When it comes to free visual novels, I go in with a fair pinch of salt. When a game is made by a small group of people, I don’t expect much. When the first thing I hear on the title screen of this game is a banger of a song that leads into a soundtrack that should not be as good as it is, I know I’m in for something special.
25 hours is how long it will take to read this story. During that time, you may find that events will not play as you might expect them to. The writer of this story gives you 3 decisions to make, with each path becoming a story of its own. These paths are not simply “Fall in love with girl, solve problem, everything’s fine”. Each path presents you with an idea, ideas born of a mind not content with following the formula.

BLADESTORM: Nightmare
I’d say that a large amount of the reviews are simply unfair hate with possible neglected attention when it comes to settings.
To get it out the way, you can change the language to English via the Configuration Launcher, Its in a dropdown menu in the 2nd Tab I think. As for Frames it should be fixed by turning off the VSYNC, if you still have issues turn of some of the extra options like Anti Alias AO Shading etc ie things with an OFF option. Adding “Run in compatablility mode” is supposed to also help with issues, I did this to all 4 .exe’s just to be sure. Also bear in mind that while Frames may be low in the Tavern, they are usually good in the actual game (or at least they were for me).

The game has already been released back in 2006 and recieved a new makeup on Steam as well as on PS4 and XBox One.
I bought and played the Xbox 360 version a few months back and I enjoyed the game. On the Xbox 360 the game sometimes simply froze and I lost 30-60 minutes of gametime which made playing this game very frustrating sometimes.
For fans of Koei games I can be very Brief: This game is a mix between Dynasty Warriors and Kessen. It has more strategic elements than Dynasty Warriors because you decide which troups you command or if you go all out by yourself (usually not recommended). There are certain strategic points you should follow but also can achieve a victory by your own strategy. Some quests however demand to follow a certain order to siege on enemy camps.

Far being in Alpha still I found it didn’t have any glitches. It was nice to be randomly surprised by the Slimes. It was neat how you after 1 of the Slimes would die you could attack this silver boulder thing than another wave of Slimes would appear. The combat was easy to figure out although I wasn’t sure what was knocking me backwards during fights. I quickly learned that dodging was a good idea when I got mobbed by like 4 or 5 Slimes at once which made combat more challenging. As far as questing it took me a little while to figure out where to go but so far the game is pretty interesting. I just had to head to the blinking yellow circles on the map which were the quest areas. It took quite a bit of running to get to each area which made the sprint feature really handy. I really like the anime art style for the characters. For a game in Alpha I found it more fun than some games that are finished. I downloaded it off my wish list cause it was free & didn’t realize it was still in Alpha. lol If it hadn’t ended suddenly announcing that it wasn’t finished yet I wouldn’t even have known because it runs so smoothly. Overall I’m really looking forward to how the game develops in future updates. I think the developer Rosario is doing a wonderful job so far. I highly suggest you check this great game out.

Crown Land
What if medieval Europe and precolonial America were swapped? Crown Land is an epic fantasy visual novel set on an alternate Earth. Meet kings in Texas, lords in California, knights in New York, Cherokees in France, and many more! Crown Land features a cast of over THIRTY fully drawn characters, medieval twists on locations from all over North America (Texas, California, New York, Canada, and more), and a dark, gripping plotline. Wishlist Crown Land now!
Hunt down the horrendous Horned Face and avenge the death of his betrothed. That was the mission, and obsession, that Ethan Primrose had walked away from. Now, he lives his life peacefully and rules the State of California as the heir of both House Primrose and the Western region of the Fifty States. There he lives with his guilt-ridden squire, Olivia, and his wide-eyed sister, Novah. But everything changes when an old friend, one also with an insatiable obsession for finding the Horned Face, vanishes under mysterious circumstances.
To the north of the Fifty States, Premier Nyanna of the Province of Ontario has tried her best to keep the Republic out of a war with its southern neighbor. But when she learns about her brother’s unnatural circumstances, she commits herself to find the truth about her brother. Just as determined as she are her remaining brothers Sawyer and Hayes Maple— the first an arch-priest pushing for controversial reformations, the second the new and unprepared heir of House Maple.
Although separated by thousands of miles and vast landscapes, the actions of each character are concretely and profoundly felt by each and everyone else. With the entire Continent tenaciously teetering on the edge of a full-scale war, each character must understand that their actions and desires impact not just themselves, but the fate of the entire Continent.
Crown Land features a massive cast of over THIRTY drawn, original characters. The following is merely a small sample of them all.
Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel
Briefly: A free comedy/romance visual novel where your decisions have a refreshingly profound effect on the consequences.
Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel is meant as a teaser (or a demo) for the upcoming full visual novel, which was succesfully kickstarted in mid-July ‘16.
Introducing the crew
The premise is a bit silly: It’s a medieval setting based in Florence. Elisa is the innkeeper who (seemingly) inadvertently makes almost every guy who visits fall in love with them. Yet she is not the protagonist.

Another candidate for the “Mixed Review” category, but ultimately, I’m going to have to down-vote this game.
Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel is a visual novel focused on Italian culture. The story is essentially focused on a love triangle between a pompous prince who feels the world owes him, a merchant who believes money can fix every problem, and a manipulative innkeeper known as Elisa (who toys with the Merchant, the Prince, and even the sexist Knight who’s obviously been hurt in his past that leads to his sexist behavior). To be perfectly honest, I don’t like any of the characters and the story comes off as a cliche.

Flower in the Snow - Resurrection
Flower in the Snow - Resurrection is an adventure, romance visual novel developed by Rainbow Flute Studio and NVLMaker and published by NVLMaker. You take on the role of Red, a bodyguard for hire, and he has been commissioned by Hannah, a servant of the Heinrich noble family, to accompany and protect her master, Lady Claudia Heinrich, as they travel to the north for vacation. What is unusual about this assignment, though, is that nobles usually travel south for the winter. However, Red accepts the assignment, as he wants to earn the money and save enough to build his own home and obtain a peaceful life. What secrets lie where Red and Lady Claudia are going? I’ll end my story synopsis here to avoid spoilers and all that.

Update: List of bugs that the developer says he fixed since I posted my review:
-
The game would always crash at the final boss. “Loading Error Failed to load: img/characters/$BigMonster2.png”. I fixed this myself by going into the game files and renaming the corrupt image to the correct filename.
-
Deleted the save game file that came with the game
List of bugs that the developer SHOULD fix:
- Fix Dale’s skill set - he lacks the “Magic” command, so he can’t cast most of the skills he learns on leveling up
