The Scorchfarer
Welcome to the scarred kingdom.
The story of The Scorchfarer is set on a post-apocalyptic high fantasy world. A cosmic event known as the ‘fire rain’ destroyed most life on the surface of the planet. It was soon discovered that the flames were so magically dense that it would take a millenia for them to die on their own. Both of the continents, Uzu and Zuhaar, joined forces to bring back balance to their world. A new breed of magi was born, the Terramagus, tasked with healing the world and to give every living creature hope for the future.
Mikaela and Yukiharu, two novice Terramagus are about to set off into the heart of the continent after finishing their training. Their journey is about to become much more complicated than they could ever imagine as the secrets of their world slowly unravel.

Demonic Blade
I thought it will be a regular story, but it was so much better than expected. The gameplay is negligible -from what i’ve seen, the decisions doesn’t affect the ending in this one-, and it limits to tell the story and branch just some dialogue by the choices you make. Not a revolutionary storytelling, but the characters were memorable for the duration of the game, and for the price, it was a good shot for me.
Recommended for anyone who is curious about it, and who wants a small and self-contained story. Not a game changer, but a good one, at least for any sensible soul.

Snowdome
Note: I received a Steam key to help with alpha testing although I had no involvement with the development.
Snowdome is a kinetic visual novel developed by Lunatic Works and published by Lunatic Works and Kikai Digital. You take on the role of Tan Yan, a young adult who works as a convenience store clerk in the city. He lives his life day-to-day, feeling unappreciated and that life will never change. He moved away from the country, as he didn’t want to become a farmer like his parents before him. One day, when Tan Yan decides to take a walk on the beach (because his TV is broken, so he can’t watch his favorite show), he encounters a teenage girl. She makes him an intriguing offer. Help me save the world. This piques Tan Yan’s interest and thus, his adventure begins. As this is a kinetic novel, I’ll stop my story synopsis here to avoid spoilers. ^^

This was my first kinetic novel, no choices to make, just read and think about some of the subjects that are thrown up in the story. The reader can make their own mind about how deep or how seriously they want to take this. I found it easy to get involved with the characters, to understand the frustrations of trying to earn a living in a city where everyone lives the same boring life-style and where young people and their parents do not understand one another. The protagonist, a reluctant hero, goes for a walk and meets a young girl one summer’s night when his tv breaks down, and thats when it all starts as he has to grow up and make life decisions that have consequences not just for himself, but other people. I can’t say more without giving away the plot.

SOULS
A good story that can make player’s sticked into it, and keep playing to the end.
Player would probably get complex emotions througout the whole story, from depress, anxious, anger, to relief.
The writer of the story put a lot of afford in descripting character’s psychological thought, which made the character nice.
The BGM of the game is AMAZING, suiting the story very well.
The Graphics of the game isn’t that appealing, but acceptable. Some of the background CGs do actually scared me with the combination of story and BGM all together.

I had just posted a review on this just a bit ago, but after some thought, I think this should only be recommended to people familiar with visual novels and have the patience to overlook the countless grammatical errors and subpar translation.
I did finish the game. In one session even. I engrossed myself in the story enough to overlook the errors. The plot had some good twists and the game kept me guessing til the end. However, there also tend to be some pretty big plot holes/unanswered questions
! like why it seemed like after the father was absorbed, it went straight to an elementary school instead of, for example, his previous place of work? And if it was because of the stench of negative emotion, why was everyone there so miserable?

Love at First Sight
For a game made in 2 months this’s fairly impressive, but for a game on Steam with an asking price of $10 it’s very underwhelming.
I understand the constraints the dev was under to get this game ready in time for a convention he wished to sell it at, but there’s no reason why afterwards, when the pressure was gone, that he couldn’t have revisited the title and expanded upon it before putting it onto a larger market, such as Steam.
As it stands the story is decent, but nothing spectacular. More than once there were times you’d expect there to be more shown, but he just ends up alluding to events and then skipping right over them (presumably cuts made to get the game done on time). The story with the main antagonist ended in a very unsatisfactory manner, though I will refrain from expanding on that any further to avoid spoilers. Most of the side characters also didn’t really get as much time as I would have liked in order to get to know them better. Also - unless you share in some of the creator’s fetishes for things like injuries - a lot of the dialog will seem forced, weird or unnecessary as they are mainly tacked on to serve his own indulgences.

“What is it, a freak show?”
It could have been, but, No, it’s not a freak show….
Don’t be put off by the oddity of the main character. I’m happy that I didn’t.
I didn’t hesitate to buy this, desiring something fresh, and found something that not only feels fresh but also kept me smiling through to and beyond the end.
“Love at First Sight” is a short yet extremely charming visual novel, set within typical school life, but with atypical characters.
The characters are few, but they all endearing and all contribute to the flavour of the story

Rebels - Under the Spell of Magic (Chapter 1)
I found Rebels very entertaining! The character and story is very detailed and I was able to immerse myself in the rough world (slaves) which is full of wonders (magic and fantasy creatures). A personal gimmick I found was the options for the main character’s activities or the paths he should take. I was so interested in the story that I temporarily saved each of them in order to be able to read the various options.
I liked the main character’s facial expressions best ;D I love Folken’s facial expressions and have had to laugh a lot, there seems to be a lot of work in character creation and portrayal here.

YESSSSS! This is a fine specimen of a story. It reminds me of anime/manga, particularly “HXH” (“Hunter X Hunter”). No, I am not saying that’s what it is… But the fact that it reminds me of it… Means it’s interesting and worth looking into! Oh the story comes with achievements! So hurray for that too!
Okay well… It kept my attention and was really unpredictable, but at one point or another I wanted to know more about the world, characters, races, monsters and so on. I liked the CGs and the funniest to me was when the main character did his brilliant smile. If I have to pick a character which one looks the best - it would be… “Number 1”. He is probably highly evil, but yeah… (I am not good with names, but he has such fuzzy ears!)

WORLD END ECONOMiCA episode.01
World End ECONOMiCA Ep.1
Genre: VN - Visal Novel/Reading Storytelling
Rating:
Gameplay:
Having played several other VNs where the player can choose the fate and ending of the story, this one is compleatly linear. No gameplay at all. If you were looking for action or plot twists, look away, you will be reading a lot.
Rating - 8/10
Other - 5/10
Graphics:
Grahpics are okish, capped normally at 1024 x 600 and fullscreened with little damage to the image of the storyplay. Anime style is a diffrence from S&W, more bold and less simple.

Summery: A short Kinetic Novel (~10 hours) with mediocre content, but poor execution.
Story: 5 / 10
The story is about a runaway kid which does stock-trading on the moon. The futuristic moon colony setting isn’t really that necessary and I found myself doubting the correctness of the technical explanations on several occasions. There is still two episodes remaining, but as of right now it would probably have been better without the sci-fi setting.
One thing I loved about Spice and Wolf is that it presented trading and economic subjects in way which made them interesting. This was not the case with World End Economica 01, I found most of the stock-trading to be pretty boring.

Wizard’s Quest
A young Wizard travelling with a savory group of friends ventures through the countryside in pursuit of a dark hooded man, will they be able to stop him from resurrecting a dragon god and prevent the world’s utter destruction or is this only a prelude to the Wizard’s quest?
Wizard’s Quest was formerly a class group project that started in April 5th, 2015. We all pinched in the effort to pull together and practiced standard procedure in game development and marketing for a class grade. Some worked hard in certain departments more than others. Although it was not often we get together for the team meetings before and after classes, everyone have put in the effort with the exception with one of the class students dropping out around mid-term.
