Dynamic Dungeons Editor

Dynamic Dungeons Editor

For those who don’t know, this is a complete re-do of the old Dynamic Dungeon Editor which had a some what dated feel to it.

The new DDE is built with Unity and has a much better feel to it.

If you play table top role playing games on a TV, monitor, or projector setup with people physically in the room with you (not playing remotely) this is the best software currently out.

It has a small learning curve in my opinion, but honestly anyone can use the basic features: load a map (animated or static) and start playing Dungeons & Dragons or whatever RPG your heart desires.

I originally purchased Dynamic Dungeons through Patreon and it has been a game changer for our DnD games. The ability to use a quick change map, pre-build the campaign, download or create custom props and then reveal it all slowly with fog of war is just amazing. Add to that the options for particle effects, motion background and immersive environmental sounds and you have a classy set up for your DnD gaming sessions.

I do all my creation on my robust PC and then copy the campaign over to the laptop for the session itself. We set up a 40" LCD TV on a pool table with Plexiglass on top to set out miniatures on. The players move their minis and I control NPCs, fog of war and other features from my laptop for them to view on the screen.

Labyrinth of the Witch

Labyrinth of the Witch

Labyrinth of the Witch is a simple roguelite/dungeon explorer game originally for Android/iOS that was ported to PC. This paid version has all of the characters that you would’ve needed to purchase, and has no microtransactions or other mobile shenanigans.

Positives:

  • Simple and easy to learn. The “Puzzle Dungeons” are a fun and interesting way to learn all of the mechanics of the game.

  • Cute and colourful pixel art

  • Addicting gameplay

Negatives:

  • Repetitive music. What little music is here is decent, but gets repetitive really fast. I ended up muting it after half an hour.

Written for 1561’s Thoughts - Honest reviews, for busy people.

Labyrinth of the Witch is a simplified dungeon crawler like DragonFangZ with a cute art style. It removes the frustrating aspects while keeping the randomness and challenge! 7/10

The ER: Patient Typhon

The ER: Patient Typhon

The ER: Patient Typhon is a documentary about what happens when you decide to be a tourist and why you should stay home. It accurately portrays the events that happen to every tourist out there where you’ll get into a horrible accident, lose your limbs, and get caught up in some Resident Evil Silent Hill situation and become glad you never skipped leg day.

So if you’re stuck inside and want to feel what’s this like, this is the game for you. Also I should note, you in fact can Pet The Dog.

Great game, I recommend it to any indie horror game player, the story keeps you engaged, puzzles are more or less easy to solve, the setting is really interesting, and giving me a “The suffering” vibes, only instead of a prison island you are in a hospital chased by monsters.

The ER: patient typhon has multiple endings, so it has replay value as well.

The only downside is your character moves very slow, and for a first try, that’s all right, but on multiple plays, it feels like it takes forever to go from A to B, and you can’t skip any dialogue options, which is, ok for a first play, but on another play through it’s just, not what you want to do.
