Played with Oculus Quest 2 and Virtual Desktop streaming.

This was incredibly pleasant. Totally worth it on sale for a half hour experience. Worth it regardless if you don’t need to be as concerned over finances. But I would like to see more of these at $5. Girlfriend watched it first and then I did. Was a nice activity for the weekend.

You don’t need controllers once it starts up simply looking at the 3 chapters will start them.

You will want a decent guardian area set up as you’ll want to get in close at times or change your viewing perspective. It’s 360 degrees although things aren’t happening everywhere all the time. It’ll be clear where you should be looking. Sometimes it’s lower to the ground or higher up. Similar to Allumette: The Little Match Girl in style. I do wish it was a little brighter even if it’s supposed to be dark.

How it works:

Capture any video using a panoramic camera.
In case you have GoPro Fusion or GoPro MAX, just record the video. For all other types of cameras, use iOS app animARide MVC , to record the motion together with the video.
Export the video as a mp4 file, H.265(HEVC) preferred.
Get motion data from your raw GoPro movie file using our Parser & Editor application. Save as a separate .4dr file.
The movie file in .mp4 and the motion file in .4dr should have the same name and should be located in the same folder.
Upload movie file in animARide and run.
Adjust cockpit position using sliders.
Adjust sun direction and intensity for correct rays and shadows.
Adjust motion and shake intensity.
Adjust rendering quality, depending on GPU power level.
If desired, you can save your individual settings for the ride into a separate .INI file.
Choose your role in the car: a driver or a passenger with professional driver.
Choose between 6 Supercar cockpits or 5 Space Bikes, while running the video.
Record upgraded adventure into a 4K resolution 16:9 video file that is ready for sharing.

Software has been tested with Oculus Rift CV1, HTC Vive Pro, Samsung Odyssey +, PiMax 5K +, PiMax 8K, desktop non VR and is suitable for all of the above.

Madrid Noir

Nice little detective story about mysterious uncle. It is not a game, more like an experience, with few small interactions. Played on HP Reverb G2 with Index controllers. I had to lower resolution to 50% (otherwise the game crashed right after launching) but it still looked great and sharp and felt like it is still at 100% resolution.

Madrid Noir is a VR interactive animated movie that is paid program. It worked on my HTC Vive system with RTX 2070 super, looked good, sounded good, played ok, was understandable. No help or instructions in-game, make assumption you know your way around VR. Has 3 languages to choose from: English, French and Spanish. Has some interactive objects to use to move the story along or to play with. Was a wonderful story with a good plot. Has a 45 minute runtime. You have only play space movement, the story will move you where it needs you to be. You might wanna be standing for this one, the movie goes all around you. You have a choice of 5 hand colors. The voice over in English was good. Not sure what the French and Spanish version are like, but i guess the be of same quality. Has cartoon Violence. Has good animations and textures.
