I had great fun with this game. voice acting was amazing. I felt bad for all the men who had to voice the pedophile teachers. It was dark with out feeling like someone was punching/looking down on others. Its a tight rope to walk but it does so wonderfully, some errors here and there but other wise I enjoyed my 8 hours. I know the dramatic edginess of it would put some people off which I understand. Some shit not for everyone, but this game does not take itself serious in the least. We have DDLC, Hunie Pop, various games taking different angels and pot shot at the VN/Dating sims genre. Sometimes you need shit that just different.

I thought this was going to be light like a bag filled with 628 pissing calvin stickers but then got sauce with a Papa John’s Piledriver when i made the wrong choice for the character.
SBN3 has been doing voice acting, writing, and other nerd magazine stuff on youtube for quite a bit. From batman beyond ill, to taste closed, to even the feature length movie dubbed over called Operation Backpackers and another one called Taste Closed Heaven aint hard to find. As soon as i heard this project dropped on steam i had to buy it.

On 4/26 I bought this game and it is now 4/30. I have 78 hours under my belt and these are my thoughts on this early access game.
I knew this was a beta and not a finished product so i didnt have dreams of it being a stellar AAA polished game. But what i have discovered is a real gem of a survival game.

I played Silver Creek Falls a few years ago and found the Walsingham Files by coincidence. Since the first chapter is also free to play, I thought I’d give it a try…
I was immediately captivated by the characters and the story again, so I bought chapter 2 right afterwards. And now I can’t wait to play chapter 3! :D
If you are interested in challenging puzzles as well as thrilling and mysterious plots, then this game is definitely worth a closer look ;)

It almost feels like the percentages don’t mean anything. I would miss over 90% of shots when the acuracy said 63%, but when my accuracy was 59%, I was hitting most shots. But the AI is nuts, their accuracy would say 43% and hit 10 shots in a row. Good game in the works tho

Feeling like I have barely scratched the surface of this narrative adventure.
A completely American story. Completely.
This game delves into American history, an era when our history was in turmoil, The Great Depression. A decade that brought great struggles, small joys, and growth, both upward and down. A completley American story. Odd travels through time, that confused me at first, now make more sense (you do flow through time, forward and backward…).

They created a lot of beautiful trailers for this game, but the one that represents the gameplay properly is #7.
This game is special, but very much not in the way stand-out games typically are. It sure as hell isn’t meme-able or made for Twitch streaming. Frankly, by the standards most games are held to, it’s a broken mess, littered with minor bugs and arguably unwise design decisions. It’s doomed to be a niche title, and a financial flop.
And yet, the reviews are on point for the most part, perhaps only a tad generous. If you see the trailers and think, “I can enjoy this,” it can be your niche flop. This game gives America the proper pantheon of perfunctory parables that a declining global empire deserves.

The Amazing American Circus
Target Audience: Those Willing to Take the Lows With The Highs in Card RPGs
Summary:
This is a recommendation in essence, but for a specific subset of people.
I’m going to be straight up from the get go here: The Amazing American Circus is one of those games that I want to love up and down, but ended up being the biggest thorn in my side due to what happened during the review period. To say that I faced some of the worst bugs: specifically saved game bugs, in my review career would have been an understatement: I had 8 separate runs break wildly in that period where I could not continue to make progress. While those bugs seem to be fixed now, I have a form of PTSD at this point. Every time I play, I’m waiting for the game to break again. Hell, even the video I made had a major bug in it. There’s a reason I have around 40+ hours of gameplay without actually beating the game, and to say it hung over the experience would be an understatement to say the least.

This is not a Slay to Spire, this is not a Monster Train. The Amazing American Circus is not a roguelike-roguelite card game, it is more like a card game built around a campaign, with some management sim built around it, in which you need to cover the costs, upgrades etc from the incomes you get during the shows.
