Madden NFL 21

Madden NFL 21

If you’re looking for a realistic football simulating video game that gives you a half-way authentic NFL experience….keep looking. This year’s installment of the annual abortion that is Madden is BRIMMING with impactful bugs, scarily consistent crashes, and (assuming you’ve successfully navigated thru all of that) an entirely bland and unsatisfying simulation of the typical NFL game. Not only has this game been horribly adapted to PC, but it is entirely consistent with it’s long line of predecessors. The gameplay can only be described as “The Game of Football” according to what a native resident of Bangladesh heard of American Football was like from his Pen Pal in Saudi Arabia. Yes, you are technically running and passing the football against some character models that vaguely resemble (that’s an understatement…there’s really 0 resemblance among all of the players) NFL athletes, but the comparison to how a normal game of football plays out stops there abruptly. Without wildly changing the “Gameplay Sliders” (yes you can literally alter everything about the gameplay which to me is the Devs admitting “hey we really don’t know how impactful any aspect of this sport is so we’ll let you figure out that little detail) the game is wholly inauthentic. Adjusting the sliders makes the game a tad more realistic but overall this title is the epitome of why Madden is one of the shining examples of bare minimum effort put into a game for the sake of raking in annual sales. If you’re not one of the chumps like me who bought this game I implore you not to. The only way these games can become even halfway realistic is if EA takes a hit to their sales and recognizes that minimal investment will yield minimal return.

For years, football fans have yearned for a game with NFL licensing made by any company other than EA. The most cited competitor is generally 2K, who last made an NFL licensed game in 2004 - ESPN NFL 2K5 - one of the most well-received sports games of all time. ESPN NFL 2K5 was almost the nail in the coffin for Madden. The game received more critical acclaim than Madden 2005, while being priced $30 cheaper at a mere $20. I received the game as a Christmas gift that year, and played it for hundreds, if not thousands of hours. I can attest that its ambitions even 16 years ago were way beyond the scope of anything Madden has done since then. It is truly a tragedy for someone like me, who saw so much potential in football games back then, to see what football games have become today.

I love racing games. It’s been so long since I’ve been excited for an open-world racing gaming like this one. One that specifically caters to an aspect often discarded and ignored which is the love of free-drive and exploration. The Crew has its focus there as well as on racing. I was so looking forward to driving around different corners of the states, meeting other players, driving around with my friends and discovering new areas or car brands and acquiring crazy modifications along the way. It has many similarities with other common games such as Test Drive Unlimited 1 mixed with Burnout Paradise for speed, exploration and challenges.

The game is quite fun, and I have spent many hours in it, and will probably spend more too. However… there are some pretty big caveats to this. The price for one; I have the Australia tax, and the base game costs $75USD, not including the exchange rate and everything. Then there is the DLC - each one is a pack of 4 extra cars, hardly worth the price considering they don’t really offer too much more. And then there are the Mi-crew-transactions. Seriously? Extra in-game micro transactions on an already pretty pricey Triple A release? There are two different forms of currency in-game, one which is solely earnt through missions, skills, and stunts. And then there are CREW CREDITS. You are given 100,000 reasonably early on in the game, but that’s not enough for anything good. And so… you are invited to use real life money to purchase these in order to quickly obtain cars or specs that you would otherwise spend countless hours grinding for. The grind for this game is pretty ridiculous - not only do you have to grind for in-game cash (unless you pay real money) for the cars, but then, upgrade those cars, you must complete skill challenges to acquire parts to improve your car… for each individual car. The best parts are also RNG based, so you could easily spend hours farming the same challenge to try and get that specific part you wanted.

Call of Duty has been one of, if not the most well known franchise in gaming this past generation and last. The franchise has been in decline quality wise after the release of Modern Warfare - excluding maybe Black Ops 2 - which leads to the release of one of the weakest entries (Both Single Player and Multi Player) in the franchise yet. From the get go, you’ll notice this game was built by Infinity Ward on the grounds of pure arrogance. This game is the very definition of “Bare minimum”.

Call of Duty: Ghosts stars a few protagonists, main one being Logan Walker - and the world they live in after a devastating Orbital Strike after a space station was hijacked. The story follows a special assault squad that go by the name of “Ghosts” and the brother’s entry to said Squad as they fight to take control of the US again.

I was going to recommend this game initially, but one month after release and the developers seem to have gone silent on us, no more updates or messages on the steam community. I am going to split this review into two parts, single player and multi player and talk about the pros and cons. Here we go:

The Single-player campaign - Length: 6-7 hours - Difficulty: Average ( I played about 8 hours of it )

So we get another typical cod campaign, the story is great, altho not at the same level as Black Ops 2 was, your choices do not impact the ending, in fact the campaign is preety much all linear. Graphics are the best the franchise has ever seen, and so are the audio effects, also gameplay has been refined to be extremely fast paced and enjoyable. Kevin Spacey’s performance is incredible, at some points the engine is struggling to keep up with his performance, making you wish Sledgehammer would have used live action cutscenes instead of CGI. The campaign is overall a great experience, if not a bit too short, they could have expanded on it and made it longer, it has some plot holes and rushed moments.

Call of the annual Duty - Underdeveloped Lagfare

I’ve been a huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise when Modern Warfare hit the stores. For years I’ve been playing pretty much nothing else and dumped hundreds, if not thousands of hours into it. I also played Modern Warfare 2 & 3 but it wasn’t the same for obvious reasons. Since then I wanted to buy another CoD that could bring back the nostalgia. Then Advanced Warfare comes along and actually gets a lot of good reviews and I get curios: Another studio, a longer delevopement time and fast dropping prices.

Start game, all text in russian. Had to check youtube how to change it. Game looks nice but the gameplay is bad. It’s a fast paced game but it stops every time to show a slomo kill shot or some stupid bad guy dialogue. And then you die because you get shot.

I really enjoyed shooting bottles at the shooting range. It is cool that in the shooting range you can not only practice shooting but also gain points, which can be seen on the scoreboard above the bar, where the results of other players are displayed. Comparing your results with those of other players, you understand that you can improve your shooting and can be shooting more accurately.

I also liked the option in the settings where I can choose: play standing or play sitting.

The fact that you can choose a game with bots is also very convenient because it is not always possible to get together with friends.

This game is just outdated now. It’s an online casual shooter with basically 3 games, but the focus is clearly the online multiplayer shooter. There’s 4 players or more likely 3 bots and you. You are in one spot and you crouch down behind cover. It’s all about aiming quickly (need headshots because body shoots TTK is too slow) and also avoiding damage. So basically crawl in your roomscale and shoot.

Farming Simulator 22

Warning! Fanboy (and proud of it) review ahead.

This being the 5th version of Farming Simulator I have played; it’s pretty safe to say that I am a fan of it. There is no doubt. I will start by saying that this is literally the same game as FS19. As it is, FS17-15-13. A common complaint from some people for reasons that I do not understand. What makes our favorite games, our favorite game? If they turned it into a tractor demolision derby; would it be the same game we love now? While that does sound fun; it is not what we all originally bought the game for. We buy (and then rebuy) these games because there is something about them that we like. Why has the GTA Franchise been so wildly popular all of these years? For the reason I pointed out above. Standard Psychology aside…

(Summary at bottom)

NOT a reskinned FS19. I have about 650 hours on FS19 and I can most certainly say this is much better in many ways, and many things have been completely overhauled.

  • Sounds have had a major overhaul, makes the game feel more realistic and immersive.

  • More placeables than ever, including sheds with working doors, refuel stations (diesel, methane, and electric), seed & fert tanks, etc. Fences too, great addon, easy to use.

  • Many many new brands, and more tire brand options. Also license plates for equipment and vehicles.

The Crew™ 2

The Crew™ 2

After 50 hours, The Crew 2 has left me with a lot of wonderful memories. They aren’t filled with the kind of emergent stories you get from exploring an open world and its systems, nor are they moments that involve goofing around with strangers–The Crew 2 is lacking in both those aspects. Instead, my memories are filled with the game’s variety of vehicular activities and the wonderfully curated tracks: the unrealistic, the impossible, and the delightful.

It’s surprising to see just how much The Crew 2 differs from the original game. There’s been a noticeable shift in Ubisoft’s last few open-world titles, one that’s moving toward a focus on player-driven progression–large selections of optional activities, non-linear structures, rewards for doing just about anything–and The Crew 2 benefits significantly from this direction. The gritty crime angle from the original game is gone, and instead, The Crew 2 takes reams of pages from the book of Forza Horizon. The game centers on a nationwide festival of motorsports where you, a rookie, are poised to become the next big star. While the setup is conventional, and the focus on social media fame is obnoxious, what it brings to the game is a colorful and upbeat vibe, an impressive variety of different disciplines, and positively ridiculous arcade driving on land, water, and through the air.

Hey all,

I was looking forward to The Crew 2 since I absolutely loved The Crew 1 (check my review on that game), and usually I buy the most expensive deluxe pack of whatever sequel if the first game was good. For some reason I hesitated here and it turns out my intuïtion was correct.

Total score : 4/10 … If you want to know why, read on.

The Crew 2 is an arcade racer, in an online setting. This merely means you may see a few other players passing by while you are in the open world. Your results are measured against other players, but this really is a single player game, in instances vs the ghosts of your friendlist or against the AI. The feeling is completely arcade, with no damage or tuning. Basically you don’t even need to brake much.

This is the definitive co-op mayhem game! If you like chaos, mayhem and laughing with friends and family this is the game for you!

I played the hell out of this on Stadia. Now that it is no longer laggy as its STEAM it is even better. The controls are easy on a controller.

My Wife and I love playing it couch Co-Op, Lots of Easter Eggs and references to pop culture through out.

There is a solo mode but note you wont be able to do all the challenges - this is defiantly a co op focused game. Fun Solo, Crazy fun together!

Great party game !

  • Don’t necessarily have to play with friends - single player mode is just as fun. (especially destruction)

  • Great replayability for multiplayer, lots of ‘versus’ levels in addition to regular levels.

  • Nice soundtrack, songs are catchy.

  • Love the simlish-esque speak of the characters and cut scenes.

  • A variety of customisation options for characters (would always love to see more tho ;) )

Overall a fun game to play alone or with friends, only issues i had were due to my poor internet connection.

Do you like NFL Football? This game is for you. The blown calls by refs, the absence of gritty plays, the suspicion that it is all rigged. This game has it all. What’s that? Derrick Henry’s knee was down 10 yards ago and remained down but somehow the game doesn’t recognize it? BOOM WE CALL THAT A FEATURE HERE. Oh you don’t like that the guy you’re playing only runs exploited quick slants every down and spends all but 5 seconds of the play clock doing fake audibles? SORRY I GUESS YOU HATE REAL FOOTBALL. Oh you like the Chicago Bears and are excited about the new rookie QB (IDK HIS NAME AND NEITHER DOES MADDEN)? THAT’S COOL HERE IS A RANDOM COMMENT ABOUT THE 4TH STRING WR BEING AN OLYMPIC ATHLETE THAT’S THE ONLY RESEARCH WE DID FOR THAT TEAM. If all this isn’t enough to perk up your pricker then maybe try the uninspiring original soundtrack for the game! GONE IS GREENDAY, CHEVELLE, ANY GOOD ROCK OR CERTIFIED GANGSTER BEATS. WE GOT SOFT, FORCED FOOTBALL RELATED ORIGINAL BEATS. WE DON’T EVEN HAVE SAM SPENCE TRACKS.

I enjoy Madden, I play the franchise mode specifically a lot. That being said after 20+ hours I’ve yet to be capable of playing more then one game at a time before the game freezes indefinitely, either as a head coach or a player. The only issue I’ve come across is the game freezing on me. Whether it be after choosing the first play of the game, while i’m loading into the game, setting up my weekly game plan or just navigating the menu. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone trying to maintain sanity until a solution to my predicament and to the other disabling issues other customers are facing is presented and put in place.
