Abyss of Death

Abyss of Death

Unfortunately I’m not first ;c But anyway the game itself is rather nice. It still could be better but i enjoyed it. After playing for 1h i completed only 4 levels so there is a lot more to do for me ;p (based on the “20 levels” trailer ). I found about this game on reddit when devs posted some test trailer or smth, i was like - “well let’s add this to wishlist it’s not so expensive” and to be honest i don’t regret this (yes i only played 1h as for now but the gameplay is good anyway). When it comes to the Devs studio (“Vainture studio” as they call it ) after some research (visiting their socials xd) i found that’s their first game so :

Fall in line as a regular infantryman, join the ranks of an elite sharpshooter regiment, or help relay orders as a musician as you get to explore the various roles in the army and trial your favourite units.

Serve in the Artillery

Support your team from the rear and shatter enemy resistance as a gunner. Join the Heavy Artillery and use the 100pdr Parrott Rifle to lob shells over enemy fortifications with devastating effectiveness.

Muster as a Specialist

Enlist in the Engineer Corps and support your team by constructing defenses, building pontoon bridges and supplying ammunition. Or help stitch up wounds of badly wounded teammates by becoming a Surgeon.

Fix your Bayonet and call the charge. Defeat your enemies using the directional melee combat system inspired by games such as Mount&Blade: Warband, that is easy to learn but hard to master.

Realistic Projectile Physics

Battle Cry of Freedom realistically simulates real life bullet physics by modelling not only velocity and twist rate, but also takes into account factors such as humidity, temperature, air density, local gravity, wind direction and wind strength.

Advanced Artillery System

Each of the 20 Artillery Pieces will perform differently and each gun has its up- and downsides. Artillery can be loaded with a wide range of different ammunition. Percussion-fused shells, time-fused shells, solid shot, bolts, canister and case shot can all be loaded, and work as expected.

Destructible Environments

Construct, Destroy, Resupply

Play as an Engineer and construct various different defences, such as chevaux de frise or sandbag walls. Place forward spawn points and help your team by supplying them with ammunition and weapons. Lead the charge and blow holes into the enemies fort with gunpowder kegs or destroy their defenses with your powerful felling axe.

Fully Customizable Uniforms

Customize your character’s uniform down to the color of the socks he is wearing! Pick from thousands of historically accurate uniform and equipment pieces, choose from different shoes, coats, hats and more. Even how you want to wear your coat is completely up to you. Wear it open, closed, under or over the leatherworks…

Present - Arms!

All animations in Battle Cry of Freedom are based on real world Historical Drill Manuals, such as Casey’s Infantry Tactics or Hardee’s Revised. Historical accuracy

All the gameplay is historically inspired, with changes only made when it creates a more engaging and exhilarating gameplay experience. Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues

It sure is nice to have a new beat em up to play. They don’t make too many of these anymore. I particularly like the tie in to the excellent Cobra Kai netflix series. Unlike the show, don’t expect this to have any good writing (save for the genuinely funny one liners that the characters have after winning a fight). This is purely a fighting game, one that is clearly a loving homage specifically to the Streets of Rage series. It’s both better and worse than Streets of Rage 4, which I’ll get in to later. Everyone you run across in the street from hippies to mothers to emo kids are all inexplicably out for your blood, which is funny in its own regard. Sometimes characters will provide humorous meta commentary on this. Every character of note in the netflix series is either playable or is a boss in some level. Cobra Kai has fire powers while Miyagi Do has ice powers. Tone wise, it’s far more light and irreverent than the show; it does not take itself seriously in the slightest. Some might find this off-putting, but subjectively this works quite well.

Loved the Karate Kid movies when I was young, I did not really follow the Cobra Kai series but I’m guessing it’s as cheesy as the movies, if not more. There is no lack of cheesiness in this game, that’s for sure.

Beat ‘em Up games also give me those nostalgic feelings of back in the day when I used to play games like; Golden Axe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV, Fighting Force, Double Dragon and Streets Of Rage to name a few.

Graphically, I can’t say the game is gorgeous but it also didn’t really bother me that much. It actually made me think of another Beat ‘Em up “Double Dragon Neon” , a game which I couldn’t get into.

The Henchmen

The Henchmen

The Game

The Henchmen is a pulp-inspired, 90s fueled top-down, action retro open-world game. Set in the fictional city of New Queens, The Henchmen blends classic PS1-era games experiences, such as Driver and the first Grand Theft Auto with a modern approach, producing a unique experience.

The game is also designed from the ground up to be a co-operative experience, as the game can be played both in single-player and local 2 players co-op (both shared screen and split-screen), with story elements and missions changing depending on the number of players.

The Story

During the late sixties, the Castellano Mafia family had complete control over the City of New Queens: They Controlled the guns, drugs, and sex workers that roamed the streets.

This started to change, however, as the Homura Yakuza Syndicate started to chip away at The Castellano empire in the late 1970.

Anthony, the new leader of the family, is forced to rely on his henchmen to get back what was his, starting a bloody gang war in the streets of New Queens.

The game is set in two time periods: In the 1970s you play as Rachel, a young single mother who wants to quit the gangster life for the sake of her daughter, while also being both Castellano’s best gun and lover.

In the 1990s, you deal with the aftermath of the gang wars, as you take control of Samuel, an ex-army man who left his job to help his brother Jamal who owes money to the wrong kind of people.

What we’re planning:

-8 to 10 hours long main campaign

-Entire game playable in both singleplayer and local two players co-op

-Original Soundtrack and cutscene artwork

-Explore the city in its two time periods: A snowy 1970s rendition and a hot, more modern 1990s version.

-Indoor and outdoor fights, with both melee weapons and firearms

If you are interested, please do wishlist us at it helps us a lot.
