Bloat

Bloat

I usually play puzzle games to relax after work.

This game is amazing. It’s both really calming and aesthetic in every way. The music and scenery is really original and both perfectly complement each other.

The tutorials are easy to follow and intuitive, so both children and adults can play and enjoy.

I find gameplay is a great experience overall and so far (I have yet to finish it) the difficulty is a perfect ramp up for where you are in the game. Showing mechanics as you progress in a slow and understanding fashion.

Loved it!

Good puzzles, but not too hard. So it’s one of those rare games that can give you a challenge, but you can actually beat it!

I love short games that don’t waste my time, and don’t have bugs.

This is why I love indie games.

Also amazing soundtrack. Spotify when??

This game…. in simple words.. painful. Unfortunately i thought it would be a fun indie game to checkout but after playing it for about an hour and getting nowhere I am calling this a bust. The camera and motion controls are lacking. Interacting with objects is awful. Its makes noises like you have done something but nothing occurs. There is no clear direction and although in most games that take that approach this is a subtle suggestion on flow to the story where as this game has not flow at all. Honestly its like painful. I don’t want to crush developers but in this case it needs some TLC. Def not trying again.

Quick Description:

-A cute little flower saves the day in a grappling hook adventure! A few abrupt difficulty spikes aside, this is a fun and creative mini metroidvania that is well worth the asking price for fans of the genre.

What’s Good:

-Checks most of the boxes for what is expected from a metroidvania. The entire world is interconnected, there are several unlockable upgrades that allow you to explore once unreachable areas, and there are fun collectibles to be found.

-Really adorable art design and color scheme. Each biome has it’s own theme and color, along w/ new enemies and environmental hazards.

You might be looking at this game and thinking “Wow, that’s one unique game!”, but the most unique aspect of this game is that the achievements ask you to do things in the real world.

This game wants you to go outside and explore your own backyard. It wants you to look closely at the insects and plants that you probably haven’t looked at since you were very young kids.

That is amazing.

I recommend taking a break to do an achievement anytime you get stuck on a level, and then go back to laughing out loud at the acrobatics of your creature.

This is the exact definition of incrediphillia. One of the best indie games on steam without a doubt. There are no physic engine based games that can compare to Incredipede. I’m sure most of you have played some sort of flash game some place where the whole point is to create some sort of contraption, building, or any kind of construct. What I think makes this stand apart from the rest is the mere fact you create a simple character with odd physics, like some sort of construct, with movable parts. You are really only limited to your own imagination. You can create pretty gnarly stuff and get through the various levels. The game itself has some replayability as well. The game allows you to do the levels on Easy, which gives you a premade design to finish the levels, and then you have the Hard mode, which starts you off with the base of the character Quozzle, which is just her round eye. By the way, when you finish the game, don’t fret. There is a level editor included in the game. You can create some fun levels and you can share them with your friends as well. I really can’t think of any negative things the game has. It is a pretty solid title, and I believe the price is just right for such a game. With that I say, whatever you do this Summer, it won’t be as fun as Incredipede. All bugs wish they could have as many limbs as the gal in this game. Every purchase of this game helps fund research for limb growth of bugs, so open those wallets to make their life easier.

This game has potential if it was developed upon, Took me a total of 1 hr and 16 mins to complete. Not bad.

I would recommend the game if you have a spare hour and honestly just looking for something to pass the time.

Some things i would add/change if i was the developer;

  • Pause screen (Instead of hitting ESC to pause instead closes the game)

  • Mute music only button, I think the sounds are good except the music. Found that annoying.

  • Make the “Level Complete” stand out more.

  • Allow level replayability.

OVIVO

OVIVO

Quite an unusual game, fantastic visual design! It feels like half a post modern art installation and half a puzzle-platformer.

Although the core gameplay mechanic is very simple(you switch between two colors) they’ve managed to build surprisingly rich set of different gameplay elements with it.

Art design is definitely something. The amount of hidden references and allusions is just mind blowing and I definitely haven’t spotted all of them.

Special praise for the soundtrack, it goes perfectly with both the general feel of the game and specifics of each level.

My goodness this game is simply stunning. The visual style speaks for itself; if you’re interested in this almost sort of Native American or tribal white-on-black starkness, you know this game is for you already and you should play it. The mechanics feel just like they should and there’s only one annoying bit where left and right get reversed (I raged a little bit). The music is great but they are fixed songs on loops, not responsive to your actions or the progression of the level as in 140 for example. Still, excellent compositions that fit the game’s mood perfectly.
