RE:Solver

RE:Solver

Step into the role as an investigator under the RE:Solver Agency, a new investigation unit designed to take a fresh look at complicated cases. With your skills and newly granted overreaching privileges, you can access numerous confidential records on essentially anyone. Browse medical records, phone logs, browser histories, and social media to learn everything there is to learn about your suspects.

Background

The game takes place within a fictitious world, quite similar to ours, but with a few key differences. As crime rates are on the rise, a private agency called RE:Solver has sprung up, giving new power in the field of digital forensics. They aid law enforcement around the world by diving in and dissecting the case inch by inch, bringing a fresh set of eyes and vital information to the people in the field.

Nothing will stop a member of RE:Solver to get to the truth. Not rules, not privacy concerns, not ethics.

Gameplay

Use the tools given and dig into every corner of the lives of the suspect. Collect phone records, credit card transcripts, daily habits, and more through the Emerald Network. Browse the game-internal internet for missing people, public records, social media, and more.

Once you have a strong case, you may file them and hope you put the right person behind bars.

Production

This game is based on a series of investigation tabletop roleplaying one-shots written and conducted by Nils Munch during the Covid-19 lockdown. A great thank you to all the players and playtesters taking place in building and polishing up this game.

Creative liberty

While the world seems much like ours, all suspects and the criminal cases you are solving are a complete work of fiction, and any resemblance to any real individuals, living or dead, are purely coincidental. All characters portrayed are generated electronically, and no real people are displayed inside the game.

Company of Crime

Company of Crime

Sometimes at the end of the day, when you need to talk about a game you’d recommend to someone, there are situations where you won’t say it’s a “good” game, or that it’s a particular pleasure to play, but you recommend the game because, for all its flaws and shortcomings, it has a spark. It has something that among the rest, makes it unique and enjoyable. Such is the case for Company of Crime.

A game set in London of the 60s, with a focus of gang wars and a strong influence from modern X-COMs, and to some extend Phantom Doctrine, has something to seduce. And indeed, the ambiance is there. The music, the clothes, the environnement. It’s all there. Yet, the game is, well, it’s janky. There is no hiding it, there are a bunch of bugs, some of with I had the dubious honor of helping to fix, but when you consider only 2 persons did all the QA, and the game was made by a very small team, you need to understand where you’re going. It is very much a game to get in the 15 euros or less, as that’s overall the value of such a game. It’s not big budget game, and what it delivers, I’m afraid to say, can’t possibly compete with a juggernaut like Firaxis backed by the greedy bastards at 2K(“2K, you love it, we ruin it!"). The core loop is repetitive fast, the enemies not varied, and while the heavy melee focused combat feels fresh and in some aspect reminds a bit of Into the Breach by some aspect(positioning and use of your skills to control the battlefield are key, and can lead to nice combos), at the end of the day, it won’t be something able to keep you hooked for too long, which is a bit of a shame.

Company of Crime:

Every country and indeed, city, in this beautiful world of ours has notorious individuals or gangs. Some are more famous than others. Al Capone and Lucky Luciano were probably the most notorious and known gangsters during the prohibition in America. In the 1960’s, the small and isolated island known as England had its fair share of dangerous criminals, with the Krays Twins and the Richardson brothers, to mention a couple. So, what is the business of crime? How hard is it to establish yourself and, most importantly, to keep yourself at the top of your game? On the opposite side of the coin, there are people who put their lives on the line to dismantle these organisations and arrest their members one by one. Will you become the next big mobster of the 60’s, or will you fight against them as the boss of Scotland Yard’s task force? One thing is for sure, you’ll know all about Company of Crime!

## Bohemian Killing

During my playthrough I think this game is quite promising and is unfair in dumbing the product down based on some rough edges. I reminisce on Depths of Fear :: Knossos and how a really good indie game got really, really harsh criticism just for trying to be different and proposing something new. The game had quite a few updates, but still needs polish IMHO.

This is just one of those games like Facade from 2005 or like The Path that proposes something very different and questions traditional approach to gameplay and mechanics. It offers a different theme to crime and detective stories inversing things making the trial at court the ultimate battle, not just a sidekick.

### Brief

This game is amazing. I loved all of it. I would recommend this game at it's price or on sale definitely as a must-get if you enjoy these styles of games. Even 100%ed the achievements so I could see every ending and know all the details. There are some issues with this game though that I have. Though the bugs I did run into were mostly minor even though they could easily be game breaking. I will keep information about very specific instances minimal due to spoilers.

## HEIST

This is a great stealth puzzle game. The art, the sounds and the music all give the game a great mood.

There are so many ways to do better in each level giving you excellent replayability. The multiple paths through a level combined with checkpoints mean that you can always crawl your way through a more difficult level to get to the finish, but that leaves you room to come back and find a new way to get through the level even faster.

HEIST is easily in my top 10 favourite indie games of all time.

So most of the reviews on this game are like 3 years old, so a slightly more recent one, game is brilliant. gameplay is a lil iffy at times but if you love stereotypical noir shit this game is brilliant for it and it has probably the best soundtrack I've heard on a video game. idk if its worth the money but defo worth the play. 10/10.

## Electioneering

So I found this game in my qeue (a bit by surprise). And since I really like political-sim and strategy games, I decided to give it a try. Yes, it is really early access but under it's surface is a good strategy game. You have to constantly run polls and ads, so you win over a state on several topics. But at the same time keep an eye on your money. First few turns took a bit of figuring out what to do, but after that I found the perfect strategy. Won my first game fairly easy with 430 - 108 electoral votes. I do hope they add more elements so there's more gameplay.

Good game in development. A bit pricy for the state it is currently in now, but I trust that as updates come out and it leaves Early Access, the game will be higher quality. Definitley a good game if you’re into political stragety.

the closest thing to twisted metal that exists. very good car combat game

Okay, so…

Fuck the other two games - flesh out Carnage Cross as much as humanely possible. This is the closest the Twisted Metal fan-base will ever get to a spiritual successor since Sony decided to elbow-drop Twisted Metal for good. Wait until at least 1.0 to keep working on Sanitize or Starglades.

I know some of the suggestions I'm gonna make are already on your roadmap - AND I DON'T CARE. I'll repeat them infinitely into the fucking VOID if need be.

● ONLINE MULTIPLAYER. DO IT.

● NONE of the vehicles should have auto-aim machine guns - all of their guns should fire directly forward. Auto-aim should be either a power-up or a special ability. With that being said...

## Death Trader: Cold War

This game was great! It was super fun and im suprised its not more laggy and gltchy than it is, i was sceptical buying it but im glad i did, lots of fun, you need to fix a few bugs but i loved it otherwise and suggest you buy it! One thing I would like to see is things like being able to change the time you start like 1960, 62', 65, etc. I would also like to see more weapons from more country's, I would like a variety in this game.

The game has a few kinks but the dev(s?) have been quick to patch. It is worthwhile, especially on sale. I've not been able to get more than 2 years into the 30 that the game has due to bugs but I've gotten a lot of fun out of it.

Nov 8

I can now play 15 out of the 30 years of the game before it crashes or becomes unplayable. The majority of the early bugs are gone, the gameplay is more user friendly with a better ui/tooltip, was a fun game before but it's even better now. The devs may have released it prematurely, even as early access, but it's been rapidly improved.
