Edit: It’s become one of my favorite games on Steam! You will really have to think to beat the higher difficulty levels.
It’s a good idea, realize the execution is currently very crude, and English descriptions are laughable. ; - ) almost returned it, but I’m hoping it will continue evolving.
There are some aspects of Tetris (or more accurately Rampart) in the placement phases.
it would be better to have more tiles, as it’s easy to trap yourself with a layout you can’t expand. Edit: You will learn that you can remove the bases and relocate them! Do this wisely for better chance of survival.

If you’re a native English speaker like myself, you might have an issue locating the button to select language. It’s a small hurdle. Apart from that, once you get an idea of what you’re doing in this game, it becomes extremely interesting. You start your little game being able to flip over three tiles, which you can select one of as your turret of choice. It doesn’t end there, and if you think your level one turret will end up just taking space, it won’t. Once you get enough turrets that fit into a crafting recipe, it’ll wipe those tiny little baby turrets out and replace it with a turret with more hair on its chest than Austin Powers'.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: WORLD BROTHERS
Mother Earth is once again being invaded by mysterious alien forces and the EDF has deployed once more to stop them. Only this time, the invading alien force is the biggest it has been, being comprised of a combination of all previous aliens the EDF have fought against up to now. The aliens have torn Earth asunder with such a brutal opening strike and the EDF has dwindled greatly in number, so now it’s up to YOU, the newly appointed commander of the (remains of the) EDF, to gather up who has survived the catastrophe and valiantly drive back those alien bastards and save Mother Earth.

For fans of EDF this is a great game!
Worth 60$? I absolutely think so.
For newcomers, this is a great place to start as well. The game makes a lot of great QOL changes to the formula that Sandlot should absolutely adopt.
However, it can fall into the same trap as all other EDF games once you try to get to higher difficulties at times.
You either have to grind a mind numbingly large amount of time to get better weapons and armor. (In this game mostly armor since Yukes sees the obviously stupid flaws of Weapon pickup crates in Sandlot’s games. And reduces that grind a ton. Thank you yukes.)

Captain Clive: Danger From Dione
Super fun and a lot of content for one developer! The formula is simple: kill wave after wave of enemies and buy sick weapons that will help you kill even more. There’s also a ton of features and depth of interactions in the map, although there is only one. If you’re looking for a casual yet engaging game to pick up, this is the one

From the variability in guns to the complex plays needed in order to survive, this game has plenty of replayability. Every time I think I have the meta down it all changes in a few rounds when new enemies arrive, when I discover something else I can buy from the one of the stores, or a feature I did not realize was in the game is actually in the game. The game has plenty of options to allow for bad computers to run it fine up into high waves and still have look decent. I find the gameplay changes completely once you switch from third person to first person or vice versa. So don’t worry about this game not being enough because you can always shake it up a little bit more.

Outcast 1.1
Outcast is certainly worth a playthrough, even today. After 15 years, there have been little to no other games following its game concept of an open-world third-person shooter where you don’t just shoot everyone (OWTPSWYDJSE in short), and the “stranger in a strange world” setting concept is almost extinct because consumers prefer things they know.
This game will throw you into a strange world and force you to adapt to being called the Ulukai, to everything and its mother being or having a “Fandazma”, and to saving with a “Gaamsaav”.

I remember way back when, when I was a small, foolish child who could barely understand english. Even though all I had was the demo version of Outcast, I knew it was a fantastic game, and I’d play it day after day. And now, here I am, happy to say it still occupies my slot of #1 favorite game of all time.
The world is the most alive I’ve ever experienced, even moreso than any modern games that boast having a living world to this day. The characters and story are interesting, there’s so much to discover about the world of Adelpha, and everything has an interesting or funny in-universe reason for being the way it is - right down to why the keys only work once before they break.

Gameplay (Short Summary)
Let me start off this review by saying, that the game currently has very little to offer in terms of gameplay if you are not much of a creative person, but if you are, then be prepared to a big grind fest early on in the game until you get the ability to construct auto miners, after that prepare yourself to the next gameplay phase - driving simulator, because resources are scattered across multiple biomes and while driving at max speed from 30-50kmph, it takes a while to get you around the map.

Smith and Winston
In order to destroy most games, you have to play around with corruptions, or data mine them, or use glitches, or speedrun them. This game lets you destroy practically all of the game dev’s hard work in level design, go ahead! It’s part of the fun! You can rush through the game, or you can dig around and find all of its secrets. It rewards you for dying as little as possible but also doesn’t punish you heavily. You can come back infinitely but using a continue wipes your score. It brings back the fun of arcades in going for high scores.

So…first of all…grabbing this game at a -75% discount…seems okay to me, it’s about Rm 6 for me ( let me give you a references…it’s about the price of 2 packs of snacks….) I had noticed that…this game is made by some Indie developers, so I wanna try to be “that guy” that do what I can if I like their product
Pros:
-
Twin stick shooter…fun? yeah, i think it’s fine
-
Funny NPC (AI) giving comment from time to time
-
Destrutible environments… but it caused lag for my potato…fun if you have better setup

AstroWings: Space War
AstroWings: Space War is a decently fun shoot-em-up that progresses from very easy to bullethell within its 22 short levels. With a voxel design to the ships, it wouldn’t surprise me if the developer is a huge fan of Legos. Even though the game is decent fun, I lost interest in it after a few short hours because of hitting dramatic difficulty spikes that require a good amount of grinding to get through–and I wasn’t really having all that much fun with the repetitive playing of previous levels just to earn money to buy the upgrades I needed.

I thought this game is an entry level of bullet hell shooter and mild one in the first time, but it was misjudged, game is going harder and harder in the end is hell-like. You can turn your ship left and right side then game would be changed side-scroller, sometimes this make easier sometimes not, I think this is kind of brilliant. Worth to try.

8-Bit Invaders!
Just an opening remark: alot of the negative reviews you will see for this game seem to be from 2016 when 8-Bit Armies only had one to two factions and very limited content. Very recently, a multiplayer stand-alone for this game was released called 8-Bit Armies: Arena, which costs $5 and gets you all 6 factions that have been released as of the writing of this review, though multiplayer-only, so I suggest you check that out:
I already wrote a review for 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes but I’m gonna repeat what I said at the start for 8-Bit Invaders as it applies to this game as well:
– Real player with 79.5 hrs in game
8-Bit Invaders! is the third entry in Petroglyph Games' current 8-Bit real time strategy game series. The gameplay style of the series resembles the classic Command & Conquer games, modernized and slightly simplified, and anyone familiar with those will feel right at home, down to the UI button placement. Each title offers two factions, with Invaders! adding space marines (Galactic Marines Corps) and a clichéd alien race that draws upon the likes of Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! and The War of the Worlds, the aptly-named Cranioids. Owners of 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes can pick the units from those games in all game modes but the campaign levels.

It came from space and ate our brains
** CLICK VIDEO AT THE END FOR A GIVEAWAY OF THIS GAME **
Introduction
It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is a top down shooter where you fight waves of aliens trying to eat your brains. I was skeptical with going into this game because of the blocky style graphics, but I was pleasantly surprised. It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains has plenty of different guns/upgrades, maps, powerups, and different aliens. Along with the six maps currently there is more on the way and 4 different difficulties that are vastly different. The only real issue with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is the fact of the camera gets blocked by map structures, but this issues is far and in between. Triangle Studios really has a hidden gem with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains, from the unique graphics style to the fun multiplayer.

Some games dont look like much at first, but keep you coming back for more and more without realizing why. This is one of them.
With so many top down shooters and alien themed games on Steam, why is this so good? Because the aliens are pink and glow in the dark? Thats actually cool too , but here is why you should get this game:
Game play / Game mechanics: the controls are very smooth , so is the scrolling / gameflow and motion in general, creating a very pleasing game experience. For top down shooters with “twin stick” controls ( move with one stick , aim freely with the other ) this is critical. Not many people realize but this is usually what decides whether the game is great or terrible in this genre.
