This game looks awful but don’t let your eyes deceive you. It is a masterpiece. its so hard to describe but If I tried to describe it to you as short as possible it would be unrestricted, cheesy, fun, unbalanced, chaotic, an unpolished gem. if you are looking to play a challenging fun game with friends and have a bunch of laughs along the way then this is the game for you.
Get ready to defend the earth and to level an entire city to do so. And remember its not about the destination its about the ants you blew up along the way.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: IRON RAIN
(Updated Review)
Now after ~50 hours, I still can’t recommend this game.
EDF Iron Rain is a decent game, but is an awful EDF game.
This game is a downgrade from EDF 5 and a sidegrade from EDF 4.1 so get either game instead. I would recommend EDF 5 since 5 is an upgrade from 4.1.
Here are a list of the good parts and the issues after beating the game twice now.
The Good:
-
Prowl Rider is one of the best class and the most fun class in EDF Iron Rain.
-
The WX sword is the best sword and most fun sword in EDF Iron Rain.

This game is a really guilty pleasure for me.
I found it somewhere for 27 dollars, always do your part and find yourself a deal. It was probably cheaper on a sale, but I missed it and always wanted to play this game because I have a soft spot for sci fi themes and third person shooters.
Earth defense force is a brilliant look at giant insects attacking the planet, and the display and scale of their games leave nothing to be desired mechanically. But for someone like me the game really never got my attention because of how slow everything felt. I played EDF 4.1 and something about it made me feel like it wasn’t worth the work. Unlocking guns was really slow, and I always felt like I needed to creep up the ranks in difficulty just to be able to defend myself, maybe I just wasn’t ready to commit time to a game that looked like that.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 The Shadow of New Despair
The premise is cheesy. The dialog is hammy. But ham and cheese has never tasted this good!
Before we continue, let’s get the negatives out of the way so we can focus on talking about how awesome EDF is.
The base price can seem a bit steep given the game’s age, and the highest discount you’ll ever find is 40% off. Yes, it’s a console port. That means enduring some things such as a clunky menu interface and unmappable, hardcoded keybinds. Increasing your arsenal and max health isn’t just tedious, it’s a requirement for the higher difficulties. There’s talk of a cheater problem in public lobbies, and creating a private online game requires you to invite your friends through the chat shortcuts window, of all things. I don’t believe you can invite anyone mid-mission, either. Sometimes there will be so many enemies or explosions on-screen that your framerate will take a very noticeable hit even on a good computer. I don’t think there’s a borderless windowed mode, if that matters to you. Oh, and the game can’t even be launched if you’re on a version of Windows older than 7.

Overview
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, or more commonly referred to as EDF, is a third person shooter that puts you in the shoes of an unnamed soldier of the Earth Defense Force that is tasked with locating and eradicating giant insects and robots from across the globe. Your mission is simple – kill everything that moves.
You’re given four class options before starting: Ranger, Fencer, Wing Diver or Air Raider. Rangers are your typical versatile infantry class, able to equip a variety of guns, sniper rifles, or a plethora of explosives and specialty weapons. Your next option is the Air Raider, a class that has the ability to call in buffs such as shields, turrets, healing modules and heavy armor, such as tanks, helicopters and a slew of different mechanized vehicles. Your third option is the lightly-armored, agile and swift-moving Wing Diver, an all-female crew of airborne infantry that use energy weapons and jetpacks to quickly move about the battlefield. Your final option is the Fencer, EDF’s dual-wielding tank, comprised of thick armor and massive cannons at the expensive of maneuverability.

Mech Farmer is a story driven farming RPG set on a terraformed world where you must provide the colonists with food, help them achieve their life goals and protect them from hostile alien monsters - amongst other things…
Howdy! Soon your ship will land in Moonshine Gulch and you’ll assume the exciting role of MECH FARMER. The colony was established to extract precious minerals from below the planet’s surface - some people say the heavy machinery used is aggravating the local fauna and causing attacks but that’s not gonna get in the way of profits! Besides, you’ll have a mini-gun on your left arm, a flamethrower on your right and rocket launchers sitting on top of that 20 ton mech of yours, so quit ya belly achin'! Just keep the colonists fed and alive, OK? And don’t be putting crazy notions in their heads, like the company is only interested in money and doesn’t care about them - we don’t want a rebellion on our hands, do we?!

Grey Goo
Let’s start with bad and work our way up to the good, shall we?
What does Grey Goo do wrong? Not much, to be frank but there are a few things that could’ve been made better. First off the differences between the two humanoid factions are mostly cosmetic even though there are subtle differences in how units work, unit stats and general playstyle. Particularly base building is vastly different. I just feel they could’ve been diversified a little bit more.
No replay. EDIT: Replay is now in the game (2016-02-15 edit)

Grey Goo Definitive Edition
Genre: Real-time Strategy
Developer: Petroglyph Games
Publisher: Grey Box
Introduction
Grey Goo is a new Real-time Strategy (RTS) game by Westwood Studios veterans Petroglyph Games. Those familiar with Westwood would be aware of their impressive track record. As you may have already read, Grey Goo feels like an early RTS, however it introduces many new ideas differentiating itself from its predecessors. There are three distinct factions to play as (the standard number for RTS titles today), the versatile Beta, the defensive Humans and the aggressive Goo. I’ll take you through my rundown of the game assuming you’re an RTS fan; I’ll be making a few comparisons throughout.

Lost Planet™: Extreme Condition
Lost Planet 1 is an enjoyable third person shooter which serves as a look into the past. Whilst the game was not critically acclaimed, it spawned the third person shooter/mecha hybrid trilogy of the Lost Planet series, which is still loved to this day. Whilst the game is not amazing and was not amazing by even standards of the past, playing through it again fourteen years after the initial release has been an enjoyable time, and I feel it’s worth checking out for those who have never played it before.

EDF: Front Mission Knockback Edition
For the love of god, don’t play it on hard
+fantastic mech combat
+Good edf combat most of the time
+Very long for such a small amount of content
+fantastic monster enemies
+fighting mechs as infantry is pretty fun sometimes
+finicky grapple hook! (can’t unlock it’s true potential unless you cancel your swings mid flight by hitting grapple again)
+the worst weapon in the game, the machine gun, is surprisingly good
-I heard it’s too easy on normal and based on the combat, I believe it. However, with most of the challenge coming from dodging heavily telegraphed attacks, aiming at weak points, and recovering from knockback, it is not improved in anyway other then higher enemy count and is not worth playing on hard for

Pizza Titan Ultra
Pizza Titan Ultra Review
Pizza Titan Ultra or the Crazy Taxi/Jet Set Radio/Blast Corps of mech based pizza delivery games (I have no idea what that means tbh with you) is a game, (brilliant observation there) where you are trying to save the world or you’re just meet some random person’s odd requests while delivering Pizza or are just trying to deliver as much pizza & get as much money as possible under a time limit.
Gameplay & Level Design
Gameplay is simple but addictive & a tun of fun!
All there really is to it is a simple combat system of 3 different punch maneuvers, a stomp maneuver, a slide kick, a drop kick, & a special ability.

A VERY long awaited review for this game, but here goes nothing. It’s basically if Crazy Taxi and the robot from Megas XLR had a kid and added pizza.
The gameplay is simple enough to enjoy, but not too simple to where it’s boring. You deliver pizzas in a giant mech, which increases your amount of time for you to be able to deliver more pizzas and complete other objectives in the process. There are also yellow clock items that can also increase your time (as opposed to just delivering pizzas) and money spread around the map that can be used to customize your mech in the garage with new parts and colors. Now you might be asking something along the lines of “what’s the kicker here?” Well, being a giant robot pizza delivery service still has competition that is preventing you from achieving your goals. There are enemies that will attempt to prevent you from completing your objectives, but thankfully you’re able to fight back with a variety of different abilities; some of which you unlock in the game through buying customizations for your mech. Your missions will also vary from destroying everything in your path (while delivering pizza) to avoiding destroying anything (also while delivering pizza) to simply just delivering a certain number of pizzas. Each section has a challenge that you can attempt to complete, but it’s not mandatory for you to complete them.
