Epic Loon

What a crazy awesome game !!

Random thoughts :

  • Weird parody universe that made us binge-play until all was unlocked

  • Flappy tongued diplodocuses. Very tongued. Very very flappy.

  • The soundtrack is incredible !! :3 meow

  • If you finish a level first, you get a physics gun to troll the other players. That the best part !!

  • Or you can just self-explode and mess the physics for others ^^

  • Overall, it’s an addictive physics game with a steady learning curve. Quite difficult at first, and rewarding when you get better at it !

Epic Loon:

I am one of those people you would call a movie buff. I love watching movies and series, and I have a tendency to collect French movies (especially the ones from the 60’s, 70’s and 90’s). So, I was totally amazed when I was introduced to Joe, from Epic Loon. This guy has an incredible collection of VHS movies and his bedroom walls are decorated with posters with thousands of VHS tapes. A perfect setup for any movie fan! Joe shared with me an amazing story that happened to him recently. His beloved VHS player start malfunctioning, and in desperation, he ran to the hardware corner shop to see if he could find any sort of instrument that would help fix his VHS player. There, the Chinese owner told him about this miracle tape cleaner that would make his VHS player work again. What the owner specifically forgot to mention is that the VHS tape cleaner was a prison for four little aliens, and from now on he has to watch his favourite movies with these little buggers moving from one scene to the next. Welcome to Epic Loon!

--- The game has lovely neat graphics and nice sound but… everything else is a bit bland and boring. Powerups are very limited and not scale with stage. Boss and mid-boss are die-and-try until you know the pattern until you relise you need to restart the game from scrath every time. The main problem is that powerups are given randomly so is actually possible to have one or two stages without a single powerup. beating a boss without any powerup is just plain tedious. Even if you learn the patterns by heart the puny base laser is just a torture to bring down bosses. *– [Real player with 1.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198123275480)* --- ![Aliens Go Home Run](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/514340/header.jpg "") ## Aliens Go Home Run Check out my Steam Curators group (Minorthreatt Gaming Reviews) and hit "FOLLOW" for more of my reccomendations: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31339849-Minorthreatt-Gaming-Reviews/?appid=257170 The Short of it: A fun mix of many nostalgic games from decades past, infused with some modern ingenuity. AGHR does arcade / replay value correctly, and is worthwhile / fun for the price - it put a smile on my face =) Reminds me of: If you liked Strikey Sisters , you'll probably like Aliens Go Home Run. *– [Real player with 21.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198008282906)* ---

--- I have mixed feelings about this game for a couple of reasons, one is that the balance and difficulty curve in this game is often pretty bad and, after taking a break from video games for a couple of weeks, the game has seemingly deleted my save data (I was at the final boss too). I do however definitely recommend this game and here's why. First of all, the game practically oozes charm. If you're into games that are built upon a wacky or crazy idea, or even into games with a good sense of humor, then this is definitely the game for you. Who knew that bloodthirsty aliens could be fought off with baseball ey? The charm even seeps into the gameplay too. At the base of the game we have Breakout but with a completely different rule set. It actually makes Breakout engaging and fun to play, and honestly the worlds/levels that are good are REALLY GOOD. I had a blast playing the levels I actually enjoyed. And holy hell the music in this game is so damn good. I really wish there were more tracks. This is probably more of a backhanded compliment but the music is SO good that I feel like it's wasted somewhat. Most of the bosses share the same theme and I think it would've been cool to have separate boss themes. But that's just me. The art style and character designs are super cool too. *– [Real player with 12.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198147134577)* --- ![Galaxy Annihilation](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/673230/header.jpg "") ## Galaxy Annihilation A surprisingly good space shooty arcade style game. There are a great deal of ships to unlock and choose from, each with different stats, primary weapons (though most tend to shoot straight forwards) and unique ship specific abilities, many of which are very fun to use and look at in action. You also get to choose a special weapon to use to complement your ships abilities or weaknesses or strengths. Again, there is a good amount to choose from. Enemy variety is decent, bosses are OK, powerups are what you would expect. There is nothing revolutionary here. *– [Real player with 5.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197991980070)* I can't add much more than what has already been said in the positive reviews. Only negative thing I noticed was that some of the English spelling and grammar was a little off and that the Gatling Gun didn't seem to work properly but, it didn't take anything away from the game for me. *– [Real player with 4.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197979596754)* --- ![Gene](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/343250/header.jpg "") ## Gene This is one of those times where I wish there was more than a simple yes or no answer for whether or not I recommend this game to others. Given the low asking price, I suppose I'll have to give it a thumbs-up. For collectors and completionists, or people looking for a mindless game to play while listening to podcasts, Gene will be an interesting enough distraction for the four or so hours it takes to beat - or even less if you aren't trying to fully complete every level. Gene is, from start to finish, an incredibly simple side-scrolling platformer. You play the titular Gene, a little blue alien with big eyes facing a bit of bad luck. After your space ship starts smoking for entirely unknown reasons, it crashes hard enough to break apart into twenty different pieces. Those parts, as well as a bunch of gems that one of the game's generic enemies steals for equally mysterious reasons, are spread across fifteen levels. *– [Real player with 4.5 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198030089691)* I bought this game for my daughter and ended up playing it with her! It wasn't quite what I was expecting as I thought it would be a quick platformer. Instead I was really surprised by the huge levels and the detail involved. I wouldn't say it was a puzzle game, but there are skills you need to understand to progress which shows a lot of thought has gone into this. It looks like it is all in the same back drop so maybe some different scenes would be nice. Overall it is a really nice, fun game to play. The graphics are simple but that is all it needs, as the detail in the game play is really good. This is a game we will return to on a Sunday afternoon. *– [Real player with 3.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198177076367)* --- ![Hunahpu Quest. Your choices as a news stream anchor impact how society handles the revelation and, eventually, what happens when the visitors finally touch down. Takes about 30 minutes to play and doesn't cost anything to try. *– [Real player with 1.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198018373278)* --- ![Isolated](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/805950/header.jpg "") ## Isolated Great Game. It has really nice graphics, awesome storytelling, and is very polished. This is a very good start, I hope that the creator continues on with games like this, because he will get a lot of success with this formula, I personally think. 10/10 would recommend. I wouldn't worry for the price, it is a very reasonable price for the time and effort that the creator put in it. I haven't had much time to play the game, but for the time I spent on it, it was great. You won't regret buying it, it's just a lot of fun. *– [Real player with 3.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198185635918)* --- ![PooSky](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/715840/header.jpg "") ## PooSky 2€. Enough for rating it down. This game should be supposed to be a satyrical thing but there's nothing to laugh about. Graphics are simply terrible, drawn in Paint back in the '90s. Music and sounds are annoying. And the game is simply nothing. You get only one info in the "tutorial": click to jump. Stop. I really haven't found anything to laugh about in this game. It's full of asses and shit, ok, at 30 years old I'm supposed to laugh at a badly drawn Paint strip? The game itself as I was saying is basically nothing. A platformer in which you click to jump and to avoid the shit on the floor. *– [Real player with 12.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198356141989)* After dedicating an hour of my finite life to this game, I can assuredly say, it is bad. While it is a vain attempt at commentary of the games industry, this single-buttoned game falls short of this. I do know believe whoever made this deserves not only minimum wage, but to forever have pins-and-needles of the lower extremities, for their iced drinks to always warm too fast, and for their souls to burn in an eternal hellfire. Also it looks like he has a penis when you jump. *– [Real player with 1.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198082768511)* --- ![Signal Simulator](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/839310/header.jpg "") ## Signal Simulator This is a great game, but conditionally. It has a certain type of audience that loves it to death, while a significant other group of people will find it monotonous, boring, and a waste of money. I'd highly recommend looking on Youtube for videos published in at least August 2019 to see the newer updates and what this game entails. This will most likely be enough to give you an idea of which group you're in, and whether you'll love or hate the game. That said, I find this game very enjoyable. *– [Real player with 60.0 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198004467745)* Signal Simulator is an interesting one and speaks to a very specific audience: the scifi fans and space enthusiasts. You are the operator of an array of radio antennas and scan the sky for signs of extraterrestrial radio signals, while having to look out for your battery charge (solar powered, so it drains at night), server failures and temperature of said servers. The resource management remains at a very manageable level, though, and is improvable through upgrades for you observatory. The game mechanics are easy to learn. Unfortunatly they lack a bit of variety, but it's a simulator. I guess we expect some grind in those. *– [Real player with 42.2 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198009200791)* ---
