Alien AI

Alien AI

Keep in mind this is an “early access” game being developed by the good folks at GridSkyGames. This is pretty much a “cat and mouse” game between you and A.I. drones. Having to navigate areas in search for items all the while your food, water and health bar tick down. With limited resources to replenish those bars. At first glance I had issues with some of the mechanics, mostly getting stuck on just about everything. Since the patch game play has felt better, not sure if game mechanics were improved or if I just choose to avoid getting close to anything. The graphic are good complete with atmosphere effects. The voice actress is good but the script still needs a rewrite to pull the player into the story more. This is a game were quick thinking strategy comes into play. You won’t have time for waiting or walking and barely any time for a look around. Be quick enough and you’ll make it to the A.I. base where you’ll lend a hand to the evil A.I. demise.

This game feels like the creator made a unique and interesting system to play this game but then refuses to teach anyone how to use it. The tutorial even states it’s a LIMITED tutorial and you will learn the more advanced parts of the game with play… except the game play is totally static with no learning curve, so the advanced functions and parts of the game are impossible to reach. At first I figured I was playing the game wrong or just not getting something, but after going to find some kind of guide online (there are none at the time of writing this), or looking at the game’s web page for more information (the game’s page is only a landing page with screen shots, logos, and PR/Sales Hype), and then finally the game reviews/comments that all have the same problem with the game play and then some… I am now pretty sure this game isn’t finished and there are commands and graphics missing to advance the game play. Glad I got this on sale for like $2 since even $6 for this game is over priced as the game currently stands.

The game is really good-looking, definitely an interesting idea. The art, graphics, sound - top notch! And there are a lot of possibilities for further update, which, judging from Antarctica screenshot from “About this game”-section, might be coming (

! I didn’t see a way to build Earth, Moon or ocean bases ).

Basically you play as an alien race that, for a good reason (from their perspective), wants to invade the Earth. And with maximum of 12 decades (from year 1900) and 10 turns per decade you can invade the Earth by 2020 (yep)!

Kismet Tapestry

spoilers, not that it’ll mean much

i can confidently say that whatever you expect from this game- you wont get. it opens with 2 minutes of footage of an expedition in the arctic accompanied with what i would describe as music for people who like the sound of nails on a chalkboard (which certainly spices up the footage, if a bit loud). after this we cut to some of the dryest turnbased rpg gameplay ive ever experienced with 2.5D controls so bad it made my head hurt. why make a game 2.5D with grid movement? why only slimes? it took me 5 minutes to figure out the controls.

Very reminisce of Spore, but focus on natural selection and ecology which Spore seriously lacked. I completed all the current scenarios. So a 4 out 5 for me, and must buy for anyone who want an ecological game.

In a world filled with in-your-face tutorial, Sapling tutorial teach to basic and then allow the player learn the rest thru trying out all the functions and hover-over information. A serious plus.

The scenarios are both pleasing and challenging puzzles, and as I said before the scenarios teach the player how to use the game thru experimentation over in-your-face hand-holding flood of pop-up tutorials that plague the gaming world. Even once you completed all scenarios, the sandbox is actually challenging and very satisfying despite the fact everything is unlocked. With mutation and time-skip for sand-box, it allow you is more accurate natural selection.

I really love this game, I also love creating creatures to play as, or to just simply observe them evolving! Its fun to see how they would do in the wild trough a simulation. Though, this game is small and all, I’d want to be able to use a brush tool to change moisture and temperature of places, with it automatically changing the color and creating puddles or mud, maybe even a coloring tool to give the ground some color! *With this there should be an option to make the lakes not be automatically created. But also, we should be able to create our own lakes, so we can make a swamp-like environment for our creations to survive in! But really, overall I’d rate this game an 8.5/10 , one of the problems I have is lag, even with a good pc and low settings, probably due to many things moving at once all the time and the crashing. Another issue is the time cap I encountered, everything froze and I could only get past it trough a time skip, which took a whole 7 minutes to be done. But I enjoy this game alot, despite the issues. Hope you guys can develop this game to be one of the best simulation games ever!

Interregnum Chronicles: Signal

Interregnum Chronicles: Signal

First advice: Read the game description closely :)

This plays like a “walking” simulator inside a satellite called “Harmony” that accommodates one person, so you’re floating in microgravity with ways to grab onto things and push yourself around. The core of the game is to tweak signal processing using human interfacing terminals, and that mysterious signal of unknown origin and requires decoding to find out what it is/says/does. At first the system doesn’t have the capacity to process the entire signal so an Operator (you) needs to approve lots of AI upgrades. See where this is going?

So I have played this game a fair bit and tried to “get into it” but honestly, it’s pretty awful. I’m writing this review with steam saying that I have had 11 hours playtime, but really it’s more like 5 or 6 because I would leave the game on to “idle” in order to farm the necessary resources to progress the story.

And that is pretty much the game in a nutshell. Leaving it running to obtain an ever increasing targeted number of resources that are basically just numbers on one of several terminal screen’s. There are Networking, Data Processing and Memory “resources” that you need to increase in order to upgrade the stations AI and each resource is tied to the others with glass ceilings that you need to break by obtaining more of one of the other resources. There are ways to expedite the process such as using up to 4 batteries on a terminal but honestly, that just gets annoying. The batteries will explode if you overcharge them (or at least damage the stations electrics) and when you do use them they don’t last long at all. I haven’t timed them but I would be shocked if they actually last more than a minute or two at most. When you do have to recharge them as well, you can only carry one at a time and so you have to take each one from where you need it back to the garden where the charging ports are. Obviously you can’t plug one in and leave it charging whilst you fetch another as it will likely overcharge and short out the electrics so you end up floating along carrying one for a 2nd, dropping it to pick up another, dropping it to pick up a 3rd and so on until you get them where you need to go. Obviously you are in space with no gravity and so they drift…. a lot. Yeah, lets just say that gets old. Fast.

Renditions of the Awakening

Renditions of the Awakening

In active development since 2016, this is a first-person strategy game about summoning demons and toppling a civilization one castle at a time in order to re-live the story of the man who already did that. Gain the trust of that man - your jailor - by embellishing the details if you wish but the one thing you must do is become the new king while taking no lives with your own hands.

Some demons are stealthy; others not so much. Summon an army, manage them well and control the flow of information across the battlefield to catch Keeps and Castles unawares or poorly defended. But beware, the summoning process compels them to follow you around but that’s all - they still retain their own fickle personalities and will quit your service in the worst way possible if ever they stop having enough fun.

SUPERVERSE

SUPERVERSE

Playing Superverse is really awesome experience.

Whole universe against you, just like old retro games when we were saving world and universe from bad guys, those were good old times. What can one wish for more.

Excellent graphics and fluid gameplay is something that is typical for this game.

Tested on keyboard which can be playable but i recommend with Joypad. It is totally different experience.

Once you get used to controls it becomes very natural and easy to play even versus tougher opponents.
