Ran into a few quirks with the ai and some interaction prompts but other than that, my friend and I had a really good time with this. I got spooked pretty good a few times but I managed to escape! It’s a pretty simple but well put together game aside from a few issues.

I love the weird stuff, especially in horror games. The kind of stuff you have to dig 40 pages into the tags to find, stuff that has 0-10 reviews. Is it good? Who knows! Station 35 is the weird stuff. Of writing, this game has one single review and I found it by digging about 40-50 pages into the horror tag. So, is it good? tl;dr, yes.

This game speaks of a passion project. It’s perfect by no means and rings with design that is amateur, but it’s very much made with love. You often hear people tell others, “why don’t you make your own game if you want X?” and it feels like someone set out to do just that with Station 35. The game reads like your classic sci-fi horror: aliens on the ship, you need to get out. To do so, you are presented with three possible exits, one on each floor of a sprawling and dark spaceship. Each exit has three items it requires, be they keys or tools or ship parts, before you can use it to escape. Each of these items is scattered randomly throughout the ship, leaving you sneaking down corridors and into rooms trying to find that damned red key card since the yellow opened the first door and this blue one won’t do the trick for the second. As you do this, you’re presented with two main hazards: the blind, docile creatures that inhabit the hangars and the roving monstrosity that prowls the ship.

Radical Heroes: Crimson City Crisis

Radical Heroes: Crimson City Crisis

What is it?

A pixel art beat’em up where you save Crimson City from an invasion.

Pros:

Some of the best looking pixel art

Controls work fine

Eaasy to get into

Plenty of funny references

Cheap

Meh:

Sound could use some more variety (what is in the game is fine, but variety is the spice of life)

Con:

Diffilculty, or rather the lack of it:

While it is fine for a game to start off easy and then gradually tighten the screw like this one does, unfortunately it waits too long to do so.

Upgrades are available pretty early on, making things even easier in the early levels (or playsets as they are called here).

I have to say as a long time gamer, I love this game. It evokes a bit of nostalgia from old NES days and offers some really unique looking aesthetics.

It is early access so there are some occasional bugs and glitches but overall it’s well worth the buy and I want to see where they take things.

It has lots of playable characters that are unlocked through gameplay (as opposed to how other games do this via DLC) which really adds to my fondness for this game! I love finding secrets and unlocking skills/characters.

Edit: It’s become one of my favorite games on Steam! You will really have to think to beat the higher difficulty levels.

It’s a good idea, realize the execution is currently very crude, and English descriptions are laughable. ; - ) almost returned it, but I’m hoping it will continue evolving.

There are some aspects of Tetris (or more accurately Rampart) in the placement phases.

it would be better to have more tiles, as it’s easy to trap yourself with a layout you can’t expand. Edit: You will learn that you can remove the bases and relocate them! Do this wisely for better chance of survival.

If you’re a native English speaker like myself, you might have an issue locating the button to select language. It’s a small hurdle. Apart from that, once you get an idea of what you’re doing in this game, it becomes extremely interesting. You start your little game being able to flip over three tiles, which you can select one of as your turret of choice. It doesn’t end there, and if you think your level one turret will end up just taking space, it won’t. Once you get enough turrets that fit into a crafting recipe, it’ll wipe those tiny little baby turrets out and replace it with a turret with more hair on its chest than Austin Powers'.

Planet B24

A friend of mine gifted this to me, i thought this was just going to be just a distraction from life, to bury away my sorrow and get distracted for a while, yet this game changed my life. I started to grow new hobbies and things to look forward to. I started a diet, lost up to 20 kilos, and began to excercise everyday. Long since i’ve broken up with my girlfriend, i have learned to move forward thanks to this game. I feel very identified and inspired by the amazing characters involved into the immersive storyline. Very thrilling was this experience, i must say, with amazing dialogue and story. Thanks to this game, i now have a motivation to keep going on with my life. As long as the path may be, i’ll keep going. Thank you Quarlelle for this masterpiece, i’m looking forward to support any other upcoming projects of yours.

Wow Planet B24 was fun. Firstly do as devs say and press ‘E’ to ditch the bug. After that the game play opens up nicely. You need to sneak and or run around avoiding the Aliens. If they see you then you are pretty much dead. The sneaking about is pretty suspenseful and the horrible looking aliens do make you jump. It is a credit to the developers that they get tons of atmosphere without it all being dark and you needing a touch. Most of the areas are brightly lit, clinical and sinister. I have paid a shed load of money for big studio games that are no where near as much fun as Planet 24. Well done Quarlellle.

Gaia Project

Gaia Project

I had zero Gaia Project experience before booting this up. I think there’s a marginal learning curve to the UI, but after you run through the tutorial and get a game or so in, it’s totally reasonable.

The AI is also fantastic, really an exceptionally well done AI for a game of this complexity. I have about 15 games under my belt, all on 3-player 8-sector, and Hard AI continues to offer a real challenge (winning scores tend to be in the 160-170 range, whether it’s me or the AI pulling it off). The paths taken to victory also seem quite varied, so it’s not like it’s just programmed to spam Econ4 or something dumb; there’s real complexity going on under the hood. It’s not like every decision is perfect, but I seriously think it’d be difficult to find a better done digital board game AI for a game of this sheer scale.

Real player with 88.7 hrs in game

Honestly I’ve played countless games of Gaia Project IRL, it’s absolutely my favorite TTG, and this digital adaptation is perfectly fine. Yes, there are grammatical errors, but how many of us actually read the EULA to begin with? Oh noes, they forgot the C in Bescods in the achievements! Time to review bomb the game, amirite?

And sure, the UI is “clunky” compared to in-person, but let’s be real here - Gaia Project is probably one of the most complex games most people will ever learn. If you’re taking the time to learn it, you probably have enough smarts in you to get through some menu screens. Upgrade your cognitive navigation track past 1 before you throw your hands up in defeat.

I don’t recommend this game anyone. Another Unity3D game with a lot of bugs and really bad optimization.

Please, think twice before you get it, there dozens of better games, even in for the same price.

1.8/10 - This ain’t it, chief

The World of Others is not a good game. It is hardly polished enough to constitute a game at all just yet, and I’m frankly shocked this title is not listed as Early-Access! Developer Stefan Kiel tells me he employed custom assets as well as out-of-the-box ones, so I will not call this an asset flip, but it gives off exactly that vibe.

Unreal Engine is put through its paces making the whopping 16 gigabytes of game look beautiful even on low settings, but that is by far the nicest thing about the game. Animations are alright. The sound design does not stand out, which is disappointing for a game made by a audio engineer.

Nice game!

First of all I have to say that I am very positively surprised.

I did some research beforehand and learned from the other comments that this game was only developed by one person… that’s great!

The story is quite short with 2 hours but is quite fun. It is slightly reminiscent of the beginning of Half Life.

The game is easy to recommend for the price and you can look forward to a continuation as the end is kept open.

Nice work :)

Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition

Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition

This isn’t a war ordinary humans can win! This is the future!

I still remember being very hyped after watching Crysis 2 trailers and promotional material. I was all in when Crytek decided to expand the series outside the Lingshan islands we last saw in the original Crysis and its spinoff Warhead. I’m going to be as honest and unbiased with you guys as possible. Despite being a huge fan of the series as whole, I wasn’t very impressed with the sequel. It almost felt like developer Crytek was trying to make a much bigger and ambitious sequel to an already great phenomenon.

Action packed and beautiful to look at, but too linear for its own good.

Crysis 2 was developed by Crytek Studios and released by Electronic Arts in March 2011. Four yours earlier, the same developers scored a huge success with the first game in the series, which was well-known at its time of release to be the most demanding pc game ever made. But apart from being a technical masterpiece, pushing graphics to a lever far beyond anything which had been yet achieved, the original Crysis also offered good gunplay in a fairly big theater of operations. While not being without some problems, the game impressed me and so I started playing Crysis 2 with high expectations.
