Lumberjack Simulator

Lumberjack Simulator

Well, after playing Lumberjack Simulator for over 44 hours now I feel I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It may have a tough learning curve due to the large amount of different vehicles and the unusual key commands, but it is so worth it after you learn the basics of a few machines. I had enough fun in the beginning of career just cutting down a few trees and running them through a chipper to make a few bucks but then you can advance through much more complex machines. There is also ‘open world’ play with easy, medium, and hard levels.

Let me first start off by saying the product I am reviewing is the Steam Early Access!

No, I was not paid to say any of this, this is all 100% my personal opinions of what I think about the game.

Detailed review or SKIP to TLDR

Who is this game for?

If you love forestry or any sort of logging or have a curiosity for it, or just would like to give yourself a challenge out in the forest, then I believe this game will be for you!

(Now, not to compare, but I am doing so purely from a review point to point out the key features that Lumberjack Simulator has over other games!)

Garden Of Mooj

Garden Of Mooj

Garden of Mooj is a monster farmer simulator where you raise cute little slime monsters called Mooj. You find different types of food and feed them to your Mooj and it will train their stats in different ways. Every night even scarier monsters come to try and destroy your Mooj statue and you must defend yourself using the Mooj you have raised. Once you train your Mooj, their abilities can unlock gates to allow you passage into new areas, as you make your way across the world trying to save it from a mysterious enemy. Mooj is fairly similar to games like Slime Rancher and the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure, and was a lot of fun. The game also has a really decent jazz/easy listening soundtrack.

I find this game strangely addicting and loads of fun despite how simple it is.

Its a good game for just not worrying and getting a good chuckle and you can make your mooj fairly different.

Pros:

Relaxing

Silly and cute

Addicting

Cons:

it can be a bit buggy

its not entirely clear on what to do

could still use more to do(personal bias)

This game is utterly satisfying. It must be good if I have over 70 ours on it. Snowing here in Michigan, so I can’t mow like I want to. LMS scratches that itch perfectly!

Lonefarm

Lonefarm

You play as Andy, a boy from the city who has always wanted to live in a remote place and enjoy solitude and closeness to nature. Now with some money saved and a bank loan you decide to buy a small cabin on an island in the South Pacific. You will be able to meet the people of this island, their customs and you will look for an occupation.

If you could just… close your eyes for a moment, breathe and open them again to realize that you’re in a different place… A place where the air is fresh and the sky is blue, a serene getaway free of the complexities of day-to-day social interaction, where your responsibilities are as simple as “eat”, “water the crops”, “go for a drive”. More than anything, a place that you can call your own.

This is Lonefarm.

In this fully immersive escape from anxiety, you take control of a farm on a small island in the middle of the South Pacific. Tend to your crops, feed your stock, prepare your meals, decorate the farm, or take a peaceful ride on your vintage Van Wagon through the seaside highway to explore the natural paradise surrounding your farm! Take advantage of the trip to transport the vegetables and sell them to the townspeople. Lonefarm is truly yours, so take it all in at your own pace.

Lonefarm is a first-person, farm life simulator with light survival and narrative elements. The goal in LoneFarm is to experience a place that can feel like a home away from home.

Features

  • There’s an assortment of crops and livestock that you can tend to!

  • Use your produce for cooking new recipes or sell it at the local market!

  • Unlock and discover new furniture items to decorate your fully customizable cabin!

  • Explore the wild areas of the island to discover new seeds or venture into the island’s town and observe the lives of interesting locals!

  • Drive freely through the island in first-person and monitor your van wagon’s upkeep: fuel levels, energy, and tear will make the difference from getting back home safe before midnight or getting stuck in the middle of the highway and having to spend a chilly night outside!

  • Days go by in real-time in Lonefarm with a day/night cycle that lets you experience different weather, special events, and the progress of your own crops in a realistic manner.

  • Discover the secret history of the island, its residents and your own past!

  • Look for beautiful and relaxing views across the island in which you can sit for a while, read the newspaper and think about your life!

Farming Simulator 15

Farming Simulator 15

Okay, so obviously I’ve played this game a ridiculous amount of time. I can be a little obsessive about getting a game going JUST RIGHT so that I can build my empire. That having been said, I still have not explored all of the facets of the game as of yet. Now I have not played the previous versions of this game, so I didn’t really know what to expect with it, and I have to say that my girlfriend made fun of me for days after purchasing and playing this game.

Here is what makes it so awesome:

Not a bad game at all, very realistic in most aspects, but very very buggy at times.

The wood chipper is a prime example. It is so buggy and underpowered, it makes one think that these guys have never seen one in action. Once they grab a log, there is no going back, it is shredded. Short of turning off the equipment, there is no way to get the log out of it. In this offering, your main task is to get the log to go INTO it. Even when it does, there is a very high chance it will be just spit out again. Actually all trees can get very buggy at times. Ghost logs, screwed up cuts, ( they are still attached to the main log even though cut off), trees that decide to disobey the laws of physics. ( standing verticle instead of falling over)

Tidal Tribe

Tidal Tribe

The game has 3 modes: Story mode, Challenge mode and Free mode.

I played only the Free sandbox mode which is what I find more interesting.

The game mechanics consists in big water waves which come from the ocean and swipe the land.

The player can shape the terrain and create small lakes to encourage the growth of plants.

I wish more games would do such water simulations in 3D environments.

Each plant has some specific needs regarding water, light, vicinity to other species, altitude…

This game is amazing. Quite worth the money.

Firstly, the game itself is quite therapeutic. One can make lagoons, mountains, paths, and help out the little triangle people with their economy and needs; it is oddly satisfying to see how their civilization passes from living in shanties to full-blown mansions. There are also quests in the main levels that require you to find keys and complete a treasure map, while photographing several things through the levels.

Not only is the simulation relaxing and the overall atmosphere calming, but also the story mode has many funny, pog, and bruh moments. For example: There is a password origami duck, and if you insult it, it will cleverly insult right back. There is also a casino that penalizes you for savescumming, restricting access to the casino itself if you cheat. Some side missions are a cakewalk while others have a Cuphead/Dark souls level of difficulty. Finally, the amount of minigames is unreal, and can be a good source of XP, as well as an alternative to the general simulation levels.

Farm Expert 2017

Farm Expert 2017

Motto: If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree , it will always feel stupid compared to a monkey.

For the experts, this game is like an Early Acces, For new players, the gamea looks prommising.

I am not a farming simulator expert but I think this Farm Expert 2017 is better then Farming Simulator 15. it has better terrain physics and animations plus it looks more detailed. Consider the game a mixture of Spintires and FS15. It also has some repairing vehicle features similar to Farm Mechanic Simulator 15.

When considering this game, one should also consider it’s price tag. What do you expect?

Yes, the game has a heap of bugs. Yes the game’s physics are a bit weird.

Basically, what SILDEN trys to do is to provide a little more realistic spin on farming than the rather arcady market leader while being enjoyable as a game (ploughing at 15 km/h? Not in this game. Although, you could - it is only very hard to control).

Machines get dirty and decay - but can be fixed. The ground is dynamic (ploughing feels like ploughing, not like painting a surface with a different texture), it has greenhouses in which you actually have to ‘work’ to get something and orchards - both with their own set of tools.

Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition

Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition

At the time of writing I am in at 1200+ hrs. The extraordinary thing is the title is a bland, no bells and whistles sim.

So what’s the attraction?

Initially, starting with 1 paddock on the stock map and a small amount of equipment provides an impetus to do what farmers do. Plant, reap, sell, expand. But it doesn’t take long to learn the quirks and the cash points so “expansion” and accummulation of wealth becomes kinda pointless soon enough.

The scenery can be special, the fields and textures quite mundane. Equipment modelling is very nice. The AI can be quite stupid at times (but I couldn’t imagine playing this without them) and it’s got a definite farm feel. On it’s own, it might get 300-400 hours to dedicated tycoon-sim fan.

Now that the new Farming Simulator 15 has come out, its high time to write down my personal thoughts of 2013 Titanium.

This is a game sim about running a modern farm. You get 2 maps to start with, Hagenstedt and Westbridge Hills. The game started off with Hagenstedt, but more content and Westbridge Hills was added later in the Titanium upgrade.

So what do you do at your farm?

You grow crops, manage ure animals and do missions to put it simply.

The crops that you can grow are: Wheat, Barley, Canola, Sugar Beets and Potatoes.

Absolutely NOT worth more than $5.00 in its current state. Right now they are charging $22.00 for it. Don’t reward the kind of people who rip people off like this if you care about the future. Their focus seems to have been to create a game with graphics that will look nice in still clips (screen shots) which, upon purchase, has almost no actual content.

There are mods created by regular steam users for other games that offer more content than this entire game. You can throw soda cans and other absolutely pointless “Easter eggs”. Apparently they’ve implemented features like this rather than worked on the two systems which are obviously the most important aspects of the game: A realistic simulator of plant growth and genetics and a realistic trade and economic system that consists of anything more than a couple of shops, all located on a street in the middle of nowhere which your character can visit.
