Ninety Days

Ninety Days

Absolute trash. Once you get to the 4th level of your tower, the game is over, but it isn’t. You do the same thing for another 70 days to “beat it”. Oh, and you constantly have to repurchase things because they just expire for no reason.

Trash game. Sad that Steam isn’t policing its platform better. This was akin to someone’s school project getting published. Worse yet, it probably didn’t fool their professor and got them a D- in game design.

Monster Battle Quest

Monster Battle Quest

If you like strategy based, action sort of games then this is DEFINITELY for you!

The GUI isn’t the best and the game isn’t that hard until level 20.

It’s not too hard and is definitely worth the price.

You can upgrade all your monsters so that they are stronger!

Overall it’s decent. Some later levels are just so much more difficult to do to 3 stars than the ones around it. And then it can be followed by one that has so few enemies that there’s no way you’ll ever lose on it, let alone get less than 3 stars.

Mostly the challenge is when there are ranged enemies you can’t kill before tanky enemies get in front of them. You’re pretty screwed then and forced to just send low tier mobs to act as a shield for a more powerful monster on your team. At least that’s how I managed to do it most of the time.

Eden Rising

Eden Rising

Nearing the final tech tiers I figure it is good a time as any to weigh in my thoughts on Eden Rising. This will be wordy but I feel game devs and consumers alike deserve a full response for their hard work/investment.

I picked this game up on sale before the free to play option was launched; my son loves TD games and I am a big fan of progression games of nearly any kind. So with this one hitting enough checks we both purchased a copy so we could play co-op together.

Performance was pretty poor; It didn’t seem to matter if i played at high or low setting at 4k or 720p there were lag spikes and frame drops present throughout my entire playthrough so far. I will list my rig at the end of this for reference. This is the single most important aspect that will attract negative attention from the average consumer in my opinion. Performance is a gate that can be welcoming and open or an object that impedes the player base depending on how it’s handled.

While I haven’t reviewed many games on Steam, I had to make an exception for Eden Rising: Supremacy. I’ve bought into plenty of Early Access titles that have made me swear to never believe in the hype again. Thankfully, Eden Rising has bucked the trend and made me believe that developers can produce EA games that are full featured and fun - while still having plenty more in store for those who eagerly await the next patches. Below is the story of the one crucial moment that made me a believer, and even though it’s a bit long, I hope it will give people sitting on the fence an idea of what the world has in store for them.

Mages Defense

Mages Defense

A Mage has the strategy to defeat the hostiles, the wisdom to lead the armies, and the courage to intimidate their enemies. A mage sees what nobody can see, he foresees all the futures possibles. A mage fights in the dark of the night, in the wind of the storm, in the cold of the winter. A mage is where he needs it!

Mages defense is a third-person strategic adventure game set in a fantasy world with tower defense elements whose main goal is to defend the crystal from waves of enemies by setting deadly traps in their path and using the power of the mages to stop them. defend more than 30 kingdoms from these creatures like evil mages, dragons, orcs, witches, ghosts, wizards, trolls, pirates, skeletons, zombies, vampires, and much more. All of them aiming to destroy everyone and conquer the world

Unlock different traps to help you in your journey and use them to defeat the waves of enemies. The more enemies you kill, the more summoning power you’ll have to buy traps! Traps are a need to prevent enemies from reaching the crystal.

Buying time and stopping enemies are priorities in this game. Before starting the waves, the player can see what kind of enemies are going to come and select the best traps for the battle. Many different traps allow different setups. Some of the traps can let the enemy slow or stop the enemy entirely. Other traps are going to explode them! Burn, shoot, freeze, explode, bite, slow them down, poison them! Use all your resources wisely…

The Mages Are Your Best Allies in this adventure. You can summon them to help you defeat the waves. They are going to attack, distract the enemy and take damage for you while you worry about other enemies.

You must defend the crystal at all cost. The crystals are the casters of the holy shields. The Holy Shields are around all the villages and protect the people from evil creatures. For a long time, the evil couldn’t enter.

But now, the enemies found out how to open portals inside of the Holy Shields. For our lucky, they can send just a few warriors per time, that’s our advantage!!!

They will try to break the crystal. If they manage that, the holy Shield will be destroyed and the evil army will invade the villages.

Main Features

30 Villages to defend - islands of great kings, forests of the powerful mages, and kingdoms to defend. All in need of a mage to protect them.

Tower Defense - Fantasy Legends Tower Game

Tower Defense - Fantasy Legends Tower Game

I played the game all the way through beating every level on normal and hard and enjoyed it. Just because of that I have to give it a thumbs up, but there is alot of room for improvement. I really like tower defense games though so thats pry why I was able to enjoy it so much.

Length: I bought game on a good sale for a few dollars. When it only takes a few hours to beat the game and about 8 ish hours to completely conquer it perfecting all levels on hard, I wouldn’t pay much more for it. I know it says I played longer, but I get pulled away and leave my games on pause often. I did throughly enjoy the pause button. It was probably paused for as much time as I was actually playing.

Real player with 17.4 hrs in game

I think I’m nearly at the end of the game (in less than four hours mind you) and I really don’t know what to think. The game itself is one of the easier tds. What really sucks is that these big icons during a level cover a lot of the map and sometimes even spots where you can build towers … often the popup panels ingame are a bit too big too and you end up clicking blind to try and catch the buttons that are off the screen. I had all my upgrades really early on because they are so cheap and I don’t feel the need to complete the game at this state. I probably will do so anyway because I like tower defense games a lot but if you are in search for a good one like kingdom rush/kr frontiers go look somewhere else.

Vaccine A

Vaccine A

Lucky me gets to write the first English review for Vaccine A. Vaccina A is a totally free 2D top down retro pixel tower defense/shooter hybrid. Gameplay consists of defending the CPU of your computer from viruses that swarm in from the edges of the screen. You can build and upgrade a wide array of towers and utility structure (like a “cleaner” that restores your HP).

There’s some excellent technical and design ideas here, unfortunately the implementation does not come up to scratch. The game was made with the godawful GameMaker Studio from Yoyogames. This is a terrible game construction kit and results in terrible quality games. The retro pixel art is entirely substandard and obsolete. Resolution and controls are locked, so the game falls below minimum standards for PC.

Age of Giants

Age of Giants

Pretty neat game for a dollar.

When i reached prestige 2 most of the maps keeps crashing, might even crash at last lvl just because you speed the game up or click on a tower to repair it too fast.

i didn’t have a single crash before reaching prestige 2 though…

At this rate i can’t complete the game because of this issue

i really want to give this review a yes but mainly because i can’t continue playing i feel like i have to give it a no. :(

BeeFense BeeMastered

BeeFense BeeMastered

(I got this game free because I have the original beefense)

Beefense is a rts/ td hybrid. You send your bees to harvest resources in between waves. There are 4 resources- pollen, nectar, water, and honeydew.

Pollen- Money, used for building/ leveling up new towers and spawning new bees.

Nectar- Fuel. If it runs out, your bees will perform poorly.

Water- used to give towers a boost, improving firing rate, range, and I think damage.

Honeydew- Special Currency, used to unlock tower upgrades, beesearch, free caged bees, and buy ding balls and black ninja wasps.

Simple tower defense with a simple chummy plot. Having fun.

Downside….

Some things are not clear at all which leads to cons.

  1. Rolling Dungballs with mouse and keyboard. Even after finding thru a 3rd party, it takes alot of finesse to right click and drag the ball.

  2. After around the 15th mission, I had issues where I could select everything except my bees… Reboot problem sovled.

  3. At mission 25, game decided to tell me what to due in German. I failed. Rebooted game told me to destroy glow things in English. Still failed. Rebooted, and killed a enemy base and was able to advance.
