Brilliant and fun game! Classic point and click with great humor, weird story, just the right kind of madness and entertaining puzzles to solve. I find it strange that this game hasn’t gotten more notice. I feel I stumbled upon a hidden gem and it made this rainy cold saturday pretty perfect.
Some of the translations are a bit off, but it doesn’t bother me. I recommend this to all that love point and click, quirky humor and solving nutty puzzles.

Ashwalkers
Updated for Steam Nominations 2021
As mostly first person shooters player, i sometimes enjoy switching to less intense indie games. Ashwalkers would be one of those.
For me this game became liked a moment i saw it on store. Mostly because of character design and story setting, which is surprisingly similar to one i’ve wrote a couple of years ago. So far this is the closest thing to what could be called “dream game”.
As the gameplay is not challenging, it requires player to calculate their movements since “survival” part is taking an action. Game itself is user friendly, player just need to get used to visual narrative and simple controls.

For those looking for a game akin to the choose your own adventure books of old, Ashwalkers is phenomenal. Decisions require careful thought be put into them, and the game rewards reading into the choices and texts. Some of the choices endgame that determine the endings felt a bit arbitrary, but after having at least gone down the three main endings (that each have at least 12 permutations) twice I can say I had a fun time for the price of the game.
That game while short does its best to make the time spent feel much longer than it is between the unique art style of both the world and its inhabitants, and the survival mechanics of the game which help add a needed sense of weight to the smaller choices. I had fun carefully deliberating on if I wanted to risk losing one resources for another I was in desperate need of. On repeat runs however this meter watching quickly begin to feel monotonous.

ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West™ Premium Edition
TL;DR version:
The very definition of an OK game, not too good, not too bad.
Everything in Enslaved is fine, from it’s story (inspired from the famous chinese novel Journey to the West) to it’s main characters, post-apocalyptic atmosphere, music score and game mechanics.
With motion capture and voice acting of the main character from veteran Andy Serkis and story writing from sci-fi talent Alex Garland, while not a must have, Enslaved remains a fun enough game to play in cold winter mornings, with nothing better to do.

There are three modes of play to choose from - I chose Normal - and I used an X-box 360 controller – mostly.
From the main menu you can choose to “Continue Journey”, which of course continues your game from the last save point. Saves are automatic; just watch for the swirling blue symbol in the bottom right corner. If you choose to continue after you’ve already finished the game, you’ll get to re-watch the game’s epilogue. You can go back and try to get all of the collectibles via “Chapter Select” (it will give you stats on the collectibles per chapter from this section), and if you’ve gone back since finishing the game, “Continue Journey” will return you to the chapter you were last working on.

Z-End
A choose your own adventure gone horribly wrong due to branching dialogues giving you incorrect story or out right refusing to advance the game. There is also mixed languages in the UI and using the rewind button caused multiple text lines to blur over each other to the point it could not be read.

Good game for the price. But it is kinda short. Easy achievements to get.

Disney•Pixar WALL-E
Wall-e is not any kind of game, it’s a game that truly makes you question how you didn’t find this game sooner, it gives a completely new meaning to video games, with the amazing graphics, amazing story and amazing smooth gameplay. There really isn’t a better game than Wall-e. Wall-e answers the questions like: What is the meaning of life?, What happens after death?, Is life real?, Why does dad hit me? Etc. It really is something special… You really wouldn’t think that it’s that much of a special game at first glance but when you play it you realize more and more how fantastic the game actually is… The only con is that people might make fun of you because it’s a “kids game”, but they aren’t real friends anyways, right? So I would 100% recommend this game to anyone who seeks for the most amazing and fascinating game on this platform. It truly is something special and I think that everyone should experience this amazing experience that Wall-e will give you.

I got this game on sale for like 5 bucks, and it’s AWESOME. I had the console version of this, as well as the PC demo when I was younger, so I decided, “why not”? I was not disappointed. The controls were kind of weird to get used to at first, but I got the hang of it. It’s charming and cute, but action-packed at the same time. I definitely recommend picking this one up if it’s on sale, or even if it’s not. If you’re a completionist and would want to beat this 100%, I genuinely wish you the best of luck. Seriously.

Dustbowl
Post Apocalypse Retro Style
I picked Dustbowl up during one of the previous Steam sales as a game that looked interesting and was just a little outside my normal gaming wheelhouse while still sticking with one of my favorite game settings: Earth Post Apocalypse. So, what is Dustbowl and how did my experience with it shake out? Let’s find out.
Story
The story in Dustbowl is set after an alien invasion wipes out the majority of humanity. The aliens also stripped the Earth of most of its usable resources leaving humanity’s survivors destitute and forced to eke out an existence in underground bunkers, searching for resources in an irradiated, dust filled world.

Short version:
I got my time and entertainment out of this game. I liked the story, I liked the combat system well enough: simple, not hard to understand, functional, and I even got very skilled at timing my critical hits. I recommend it for what it is, an enjoyable few hours of story for what I paid ($8.00 if that matters).
Long version:
I’ve beaten the game and I can say that I enjoyed the story and the exploration. I do however feel the need to make some things clear. If they can be fixed I think that it will help in the long run.
