Ultimate Sadou- tea or coffee?

The English is machine translated. The writing in the opening scene is simple enough that I could still follow what was going on despite the inaccuracies and unnatural phrasings, but it’s not fun to read. Example screenshots here. According to another reviewer, the Chinese translation is MTL as well. Refunded.

Home: A Quarantine Story

Home: A Quarantine Story

A realistic narrative that builds a unique yet somehow familiar setting, Home: A Quarantine Story will softly resonate with anyone who can’t decide if their heart is with the home they’ve made for themselves or the home they grew up in. I’ll admit it doesn’t look like games I’m normally drawn to, but it’d be a mistake to judge this visual novel by its graphics. Home: A Quarantine Story is, may I remind you, free, so there’s really no reason not to pick it up.

A relatively short story about how family and the concept of “home” can be as poisonous as it is comforting. Detailed descriptions of items throughout the house breathed more life into the characters and character relationships, and the relationship between the main character and her mother in particular was quietly unsettling from start to finish—especially because it leaned into believable emotional manipulation tactics.

IF this game was FREE, I would still NOT play it…Please stay away from this game…this was one of the worst experiences ever…first of all the game crashed about 3 times just trying to get it started, the launch screen looks like a mobile port from the first nokia device. I feel ripped off for getting charged a price like this…the actual game play was terrible, seriously not even early access, this is like a prototype of an idea. REFUND PLEASE!

Nice job forcing a player to wander around a samey, winding, long-ass school for the introductory sequence. Really sets the mood and doesn’t at all make it seem like extended BS gameplay in a veiled attempt to manipulate time limit and avoid refunds.

The short version: Don’t spend your money, it will take you longer to read this review than to ‘beat’ the game.

I was hoping the other reviews were exaggerating how short the gameplay was. I was REALLY hoping.

I was wrong.

This game would make for a great free demo or POC. Sadly, I spent the $3 US to play it - I feel it only delivers $0.03 value.

The graphics are pretty good. The sound design is kinda poor - reverb effects are baked into sounds and cut short, rather than baked into the environment (like the hallway, for example).

Delivery Guy

Delivery Guy

It has become dangerous to walk on the street, and once you forget to keep social distance you can get the infection from literally anybody even in case you both are wearing masks. So you will have to follow the rules of social distancing while moving across the streets. The length of the distance depends on the level of protection that your mask provides.

At the beginning you are a fat sluggard who experiences, what is more, problems with money. In the pandemic situation the role of a delivery guy’s job has strongly increased. And as you still don’t have any professional skills, this is an ideal choice for you. Because of suffering from overweight you are able only to walk slowly down the street (not run) but after carrying out a number of deliveries you will lose some weight and make some money. If you want to became fit and to deliver your orders rushing along roofs like a parkourer you will have to keep to a healthy diet and visit a gym. It takes quite a big sum of money and to earn it you should work hard.

Fantasy Tavern Sextet -Vol.2 Adventurer’s Days-

I enjoyed the story! There is no shown sex so you will have to use your imagination! I am looking for version 3 but have not found it yet. I plan on getting it if it ever shows up though. The English is better than normal also.. I think most of you will enjoy it.

I liked the first one better, but this one was pretty amazing too. The character design didn’t disappoint and the story wasn’t half bad. I will say towards the end I saw a few plot points that were…ridiculous or too well timed…other than that it was fine.

The H-scenes were also top tier!

Mandew vs the Colorless Curse

Mandew vs the Colorless Curse

A tribute to Super Mario Land (Game Boy, 1989) from Suits&Sandals, the developer of Khimera. The controls feel a bit awkward at first (some reviews stated they’re bad). Mandew is indeed so slow that you always have to keep your thumb on the run button, but isn’t a Super Mario veteran used to that anyway? I assume it’s a kind of inside joke between the dev and Mandew himself, who’s actually his fellow programmer (as the store page says). There’s also an achievement named “Stiff Knees” making fun of it. I found the controls pretty good and reliable after getting used to it.

Other than the Venice level not being accurate to the actual irl Venice (to my knowledge, never been to Venice) the game is pretty neat, would recommend

Intro

Rogue Port - Red Nightmare is a turn-based RPG Maker game with exploration as its focus. You’ll travel through the areas, recruit party members, and defeat any monsters that come your way. It also has day-based events that will trigger based on how long you play the game. Sounds interesting enough? I’ll cover them more in the review.

Real player with 30.4 hrs in game

Rogue Port - Red Nightmare is a 16-bit ARPG where you’re going to help reunite your missing friends and save your family from wild animals, mutants, inanimate objects, aliens and the undead!

This is a RPG-Maker game so the character is easy to control using five keys and mouse.

Graphics are colour full, characters changes are well defined and their aspect changes depending on what kind of equipment they wear. The game has also lighting effects, and light changes depending on location and time. So in general there is some sort of attention for details.

ANIME WAR — Modern Campaign

ANIME WAR — Modern Campaign

Anime war is a game that was very clearly made in a bit of a rush, with not much original content, yet with these things in mind, it manages to create much more gripping experience then many games do throughout hours of gameplay. It’s unique twist on a classic military shooter creates a much needed shake up in an overused, beaten to death genre.

Compared to most sniper focused games, the game is fast paced. It forgoes the many slow and meticulous aspects of your average long-range-barrelled-rifle-assassination game. This is signified succinctly by one mechanic, when you ADS (Aim-Down-Sights) you initially simply look over your characters shoulder, rather than scoping in; to scope in you must press the middle mouse button, and if you release the right mouse button and press it again it will go back to the shoulder view. This is an intellectually astounding way of explaining the gameplay speed to the player. Another thing that makes it so interesting to play is that, if you hammer the grenade button like a nail (a hammer is a tool used to impress nails (a pointy peace of metal used to attach two things such as wood or similar together) deep into something) then you will throw multiple a second, and there is an infinite supply of them. Some may call this a bug, but I say it is a masterful feature, which allows strategies of infinite complexity. Overall the gameplay is masterfully assembled, and it is clear Konichiwa games knows what they are doing.
