The Dark Inside Me
This is indeed a very unique psychological horror game just as what the creator has claimed! Although I usually avoid horror games, this game main thing isn’t jump scares, the atmosphere will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story starts with a nameless man who doesn’t remember what brought him to a suspicious looking hospital which he needs to break out of it without letting the police notice him. Later on, when he is out, he witnessed a scene which will take us to a flashback to the infamous Auschwitz camp we all know the sad history behind its walls. I don’t want to spoil the role of our main character there but after the flashback he’ll get a lead from someone which will require him to drive quickly to his new destination but sadly, he walked into the demon’s pit. The twist ending of this chapter made me wonder about many things. Who is that? Why this is happening?

I have to be honest here, I enjoyed this game, but whether or not I can recommend it is reliant on a fair number of caveats.
First off is the content: This game was designed to be fairly graphic in it’s content. Blood, gore, nazi death camps, different types of sexual activites, piles of naked dead bodies, it’s all here. I like over the top graphic stuff in my games, but if you don’t then I would recommend you stay far away.
Second is the gameplay itself: It’s a point and click adventure game, and the gameplay is a bit rough, though the developer (one man team) is open with his community and seems willing to listen to ideas on how to improve future games. That being said, you will still run into cases of not realizing an item is available to pick up because of how well it blends into the environment, or clicking on the wrong part of the screen and something not working (a lamp you can only interact with at a certain camera angle, a nightstand that you have to click the correct part of it to solve a puzzle, having to use a key on a lock instead of the door itself), or issues where the game simply isn’t descriptive enough (the items have no descriptions, and you aren’t told why something doesn’t work, even if in the real world, it probably would). Still, these issues don’t crop up too much, and if they slow you down, the forums are here to help you.

Dark Egypt
The scenery at the start of the game is probably the only highlight of this game. The lack of clear instructions make it very difficult for a first time player to complete this game without additional guides. Moreover, the lackluster gameplay does not really compensate for the uninspiring plot. The map itself is also just straight up a maze (and not in a good way).

This is a niche game for people who don’t mind a lot of downtime waiting for the game to load (or relaunch after a crash) and love to die a lot trying to figure out how to survive traps and other situations.
It looks nice, has fitting noises/music, decent, challenging gameplay, but also fun-destroying technical issues.
The game’s two big problems are frequent crashes and long load times, and these issues occur together. When you launch the game your savegame will load fine, but after you die you have a much higher than even chance of the game crashing, but only after you’ve sat through the half minute load time of course. Yep, half a minute. After every single death / crash. With not a lot of textures to load (and from an SSD drive) and a static light map that should have been pre-rendered for all levels when the game launched, not on every savegame load. There shouldn’t even be a load time. You can expect to spend 80%+ of your time watching the game launch after a crash or watching the load screen.

Familiar Travels - Volume One
Familiar Travels is a good visual novel game! It’s unique among the genre by being “open world”, in the way that you can choose which place to go, and in any order. You tend to have multiple scene choices, which are important events. But you can only experience that one scene in any given day ( or night ), which will improve your relationship with that character or characters. Time will pass in the game after this scene, and you can either choose to go to sleep or wander around to find more scenes/characters to interact with. So each day you have two chances to explore around and experience scenes. As you look around these places, there’s some objects in the environments you can examine. But not as much as I’d like in a game that claims to be akin to a point and click adventure game. The background art, luckily, is pretty good and filled with detail. Not always, but I’m impressed!

I haven’t beaten the game yet, but I am enjoying what I am seeing. The only two gripes that I have about the game are of the following:
-Repetitive dialogue after you go back to the same person in the same scene.
-Not enough options that lead to different choices.
-A weird random bug where other character frames are loaded into the next scene.
Will I write a full review one day? Who knows. I give this game a 9/10.
Update: I am going to have to change my score to an 8/10. I need to play the game more in order to give a better insight for my review.

FOCUS on YOU
Love this experience.
I have had this on PS for around 18 months and usually spend a couple of hours a week enjoying it.
Often spending time just staring into her eyes, or trying to get a better look at the exquisite detail of her mouth.
Saw it on special on Steam and grabbed it.
Seems the PC version hasn’t gotten all the updates the PS version has had.
Realise they probably can’t optimise it as well for PC as they can for PS but there were some changes to the clothing meshes that make them seem far less cartoon-ish as well as being able to approach her much more closely and I don’t believe there is any reason they couldn’t be coming to PC?

I played through this in 1 Hour 17 minutes and whilst it was fun and there are some other bits to mess around with post completion, I don’t believe this is worth the asking price £30 unless the developer adds more content. There are no mini-games as such and it’s all rather scripted. It falls under “experience” rather than game. You cannot interact with Han Yua, although she does move away slightly if you try to get too-close to her. She will also look at you depending on your position.

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded
85 / 100
First thing to appreciate with Leisure Suit Larry (LSL) is that it is a game that originally was created in 1987! The gameplay in this ‘Reloaded’ version is essentially the same, with updated graphics, interface & full voice/audio support.
Being from an earlier generation, the gameplay can feel basic by modern standards and there is no real direction from a story perspective to guide you either. You only know that you need to guide Larry (the 40yr old virgin) to find love. With limited guidance, the ability to visit any of the locations in any order & a lot of abstract puzzles to solve LSL can leave you scratching your head for long periods.

Bokuten - Why I Became an Angel
In addition to the official content warning, there are a few more I’d like to point out, particularly if you’re going to get the R18 patch. Despite its cute visual, Bokuten contains quite a lot disturbing contents. The list goes: socially stigmatised homosexual, sexual assault, cheating, sex slavery (implied), threesome incest, masturbation in public place, etc. If you’re concerned with any of those, I’d advise you think twice whether to get the patch or the game at all.
Wouldn’t it be better if our heart could fracture and be gone with it the entailing sorrow and pain?
– Real player with 71.0 hrs in game
Bokuten is an emotional and disturbing journey from start to finish. It didn’t take long before I became completely glued to this visual novel. The two main themes of this visual novel are centered around love and happiness. This involves helping out people with love problems, but there is a more realistic approach to it and not that standard romance approach where the relationship is nearly perfect and ends happily ever after. I won’t go into specifics about what type of issues are addressed here, but they are issues that can cause distress. I could pretty much always sense that something was going to go wrong with the relationships even if things felt like they were working out since this VN gave off that vibe that it would be full of depressing outcomes.

Burokku Girls
Burokku Girls is a visual novel about breasts. As the story goes, you’re a young man trying out your genius father’s ultra-immersive VR simulator. Absolutely nothing happens, and you go home.
That would actually be more surprising than what really happens, which is that you get sucked into the game itself with no way to return home. Within minutes you’re tripping over some big-boobed warrior lady and being attacked by fireball slinging mind-controlled minions. There’s a PLOT that involves some women from beneath the ground who are trying to take over the world, and it does get surprisingly dark at times. The writing was decent most times but occasionally plodded along with humdrum details and dialogue. You probably aren’t here for the writing. There are a bevvy of characters, including aforementioned warrior lady, flirtatious bunny girl with magic powers that defy explanation, and some kind of tsundere Senran Kagura escapee. There are just a few choices to make throughout the story, so you’re going to need a hand free at some points to actually pick one.

Burokku Girls is the latest game from Silver Cow Studios, who previously developed Time Tenshi, another similar VN. This confuses me, since Time Tenshi’s cliffhanger ending still hasn’t been resolved with the sequel yet, but what can you do, right? If you haven’t played Time Tenshi, the basic gist of these games is a focus on a deep “plot” and “well-developed” characters, by which I mean “great big gazongas”. The actual storylines aren’t bad, but at times they feel like more of a conveyor belt for floppy funbags, and it’s safe to say that if you’re not buying it for the sweater puppies you might want to look elsewhere. I didn’t really like the story of Burokku Girls as much as I did Time Tenshi, but it was still decent outside of the occasional moment where it fell too deep into anime cliche. This game is notably darker than Time Tenshi, however, which might be off-putting for people just looking for a good wank. But the real question is, does it end on a cliffhanger like Time Tenshi? Well…

Creatio Ex Nihilo II: Deus Otiosus
Centuries have passed since Uros disappeared, and relations among his descendants have remained relatively peaceful. However, they will soon realize that a peace based on mutual hate is a fragile one indeed.
Creatio Ex Nihilo II: Deus Otiosus continues the story that began in the first game. Time has passed, and the void left by Uros have been bigger than anticipated. A ruler of the universe was picked, but the choice did not amuse everyone, to put it mildly. Feelings of ambition, hate, and envy are hiding just below the surface of most of the divine beings. A confrontation on a universal scale is brewing. Everyone is vying for the ultimate power in a war that will tear apart families, and destroy mortal worlds in its path. You will take on the role of one of Uros' descendants, and it is up to you to decide whether you will try to take the power for yourself, or if you will attempt to end the war in a more peaceful manner. However, you will soon realize that the actions of you and your family might just awaken a threat much bigger than you ever bargained for.

Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude Uncut and Uncensored
Just for clarity sakes I haven’t played this game in atleast 10 years and a lot of the silly references and sex jokes make a lot more sense now than they did back then. As for the resolution I had no problems after messing around with the “ConfigUtil.exe”
After putting the resolution to “1920 x 1080” there were a couple of textures that were out of place from time to time but it wasn’t exactly game breaking just visual glitches and it happened very rarely. It was nice to see the game without all the jaggy-ness of the PS2 and Xbox counterparts. It’s looks so clean and so nice.

The game’s minigames are ridiculously hard. You buy items with money that you make from taking pictures to make the games easier, but they still kick your butt every time. Thing is, if you want to get nudity in the game, you need to do well in the minigames. I got to the final part of the game in 15 hours, but i couldn’t go on because the minigames just became impossible on pc controls. you need a steam controller to finish the late game minigames. Even then, some minigames can’t be completed because the mechanics don’t work. There are minigames where you need to take perfect photos, but there are just no perfect poses to work with. I only managed a “perfect” photo twice, and both times were a glitch. It’s just plain frustrating. The minigames are interesting in theory, and they get more difficult the drunker you are, but the fact that they are just plain impossible at base level is ridiculous.
