Bulby - Diamond Course

Bulby - Diamond Course

I want to like this game. From the overall design of the choices to the bright asthetic, I really like parts of this game. Unfortunately, the game will crash on you over and over again. This is a good first effort by the developer, but is not a finished product by any stretch. Just play Kirby’s Diamond Course.

Sadly the game has too many bugs along with some bad design choices. There is no detail behind the strength of a putt with your power meter and it isn’t that easy to understand the consistency. There is no restart option when doing poorly on a specific level. The game does not save between levels but does manually save on exit if it doesn’t crash…..the game crashed three times in 1 hour, wiping my efforts every time.

Pro: Very good job on the graphics and music.

i got this game largely for the level editor although i did play a bit of the campaign

so my main concern is that a fatal memory erro keeps occuring wiping out any of the changes to the leve i am working on, this may ust be me and/or it may just be the level editor but otherwise i have quite enjoyed the game especially for only a dollar it is a good game

TLDR: Bare minimum effort flash grade platformer with Xbox360 pad support. Gimmick here involves a pitch black screen with visibility in radius around protag square tile and some buttons you must push to make pipelines glow up parts of the level. Tight margins for platforming. Game uses a trampoline mechanic that is clunky and hard to execute correctly. Game is bland and boring with no world setting, protag design, foe design or anything interesting. Audio is okay but forgettable.

NOTE: Original review written in February 2020

Last updated May 2020 (Some sections of this review might be outdated)

I recommend Platform Builder to ANYONE who want’s to make a really good game, without needing to learn a single line of code, or who wants to just make a game for the fun of it.

Overview:

Platform Builder is sort of a game, yet not a game. It is a videogame development tool. It does contain an example game showing you a tiny fraction of what Platform Builder can do. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. It also contains a section called “Explore” where you can play other people’s games that they have made.

Good game! Perfect to make good platform games easily without programming language! Upgrading to PRO right now!

9.5/10

Edit: Platform Builder it’s a great tool for creating games. Even when it has some limitations, platform builder has the potential to recreate stuff that probably wasn’t imaginated before. Allows you, the user, to create very great games without any knowledge about programming, but, if you still want to program something or get more advanced when creating games, Platform Builder’s command prompt is a good option to start to create your own advanced games. You can also import graphics, sounds, music, backgrounds etc.

I Love this game its fun but no story and map maker?

Pretty good game! The movement in the editor is staggered and you can’t edit a level afterwards though. Still really good!

Got this game way back in alpha while supporting the developer’s (Alpha 0.46).

I absolutely love this game, its akin to the classic mario style platforming games however with way more physics inticed mechanics, and an entirely turing complete visual programming language called Tronics, which can be used to create crazy creations and fully functioning code interpreters (A brainf*ck interpreter, made by me to show off tronics power). Bugs I’ve encountered in the game are quick to be felled by the developer, by his hard work and motivation. truly an inspirational developer, and one I idolise.

Amazing! Would Recommend, Most Of The Tronics Are Easy To Pickup And Learn, Story Mode Was Intriguing From What I’ve Seen. This Game Is A Hidden Gem

I usually never leave reviews on games. But this is such an ambitious game made by 2 people only. So almost for that reason alone it deserves a positive review. However, should you buy this game? If you want something polished, smooth and without bugs, then you should definitely not buy this game. It has a fair amount bugs, bad animations, and auditory issues.

With all that being said, the game delivers on it’s intended purpose almost flawlessly. You can generate a level (Island or dungeon) design it completely as you wish and i don’t even want to go into detail, about how in debt you can go with everything. NPC behavior, quests, factions, world building, what areas of the map have what sounds or music, light sources. (Probably) Everything that exists in a engine for making games exists within this games editor. I haven’t found something i haven’t been able to do yet. And the best part about all this? You can continuously expand you world, you can keep making new levels and link them together by using something called portals.

Disclaimer: I backed the Indiegogo campaign, so it may show that I entered a key rather than purchased from steam directly.

Promising game with lots of potential. The inclusion of mod tools from day 1 is very nice to see, and I hope that modders will pick this game up and begin to make their own campaigns and content with it. The devs seem to be pretty active, and have been checking feedback from yesterday when the game released.

Update 10/24/2020: It looks like the devs have fixed the UI bug that I’ve been having. I was able to play for some time before putting the game down for the night, with zero issues on that problem.

It’s a nice and simple 3d platformer! I’ve been looking for a game like this for a while. Simple mechanics and premise, easy controls, short length (took me under 2 hours to beat it). As I played through the game I didn’t really have any major gripes. Level design was solid and almost all of the deaths felt like my fault. There is a tad bit of polishing that could be done, but overall very nice. The music and sound was excellent. I would love to purchase the soundtrack if possible. In summary, if this looks like the kind of game you’ll enjoy than I recommend you pick it up!

Challenging gameplay. Difficult to master but keeps you coming back even when you keep dieing. Every level is a challenge and every completion left me feeling like I accomplished some great feat. Impressive first effort from Cozy Cloud Productions. Gotta say if this is their freshman effort I’m excited to see what comes next
