PIGGY: Hunt

PIGGY: Hunt

An amazing game for an F2P. Gameplay is always fun, the options for customization are outstanding, and this game is just really enjoyable. The models, animations, and level design make Piggy: Hunt a game I keep coming back to. The soundtrack is AMAZING, and I love the work BSlick has put into the Piggy franchise. Piggy: Hunt is largely based off of community feedback, and it just keeps getting better. Try it out, you’ll enjoy it if you like the original Piggy or Among Us.

POSTAL 4: No Regerts

POSTAL 4: No Regerts

I have got to Thursday, currently working on it. I have made it to the sky lift so far have had a lot of fun.

Now I must mention it has crashed or locked up per say a lot on area changes. I keep having low memory warnings. I had to lower my resolution to 1920x1080 on my RTX 2080 a little more stable but still have lockups on area changes. If the bugs get ironed out this is going to one of my favorite games. I see so much potential in this Game!

So, Postal 4: No Regerts, is a first person shooter that follows the Postal Dude, voiced now by John St. John, the same one that voiced Big the Cat! (and some obscure character named Duke Nukem) You have to go through a whole week in Edensin, last game was Paradise, and you had to do tasks, which is nice to do with the open world type thing Running With Scissors is going for. BUT, I am not here to talk about story, that’s Civvie’s job! (even though he really doesn’t cover the story much, love ya big man) I am here to talk about the game in itself. As you can see at the top of the store page, this game is in early access, which is not a big deal since bigger games are in early access, even for years! (Rust) But, this game is littered with glitches, bugs, and nasty creatures like the crash dummy. (it crashes lmao) I did not have a problem with these glitches, as they added to the experience to me, but I do have one problem that Running With Scissors can not fix. It’s the specs of my PC. I have a 1660 GTX and it runs really well on the first, second, and third day. The forth day has some problems, but you can manage. But Friday is where it all goes down the drain. I constantly had to keep the graphics and such to buttsauce levels, and it still would lag harder than Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 and Xbox One on launch day. But, am I upset by it? Hell no. It’s just that my specs are too low for the game to handle. But, it is a fun game if you have a better GTX graphics card for the later days, then you’ll be fine. If not, still, enjoy the game because it’s still fun, even on days before Friday! And the people at Running With Scissors are really down to Earth, and no, I’m not sponsored. (pay me pls) Anyways, I hope that this uninformative review has helped you, even if you already bought the game, then if you did, congrats, I didn’t need to convince you! If you didn’t, I will eat your cereal but spit it out back in the bag so that you won’t notice my momma bird special. Have fun you frickin weirdos.

Estranged: The Departure

Estranged: The Departure

I don’t really review early access games but this time I am making an exception. The reason for that is that Estranged Act I is a great Half-Life 2 mod. I enjoyed every minute of it and when I saw the page for the second act was up and running I immediately jumped in to try it.

There are a couple of things you can notice immediately. First, the game looks superb. Way better than its predecessor - this is understandable as Unreal Engine 4 is responsible for making the 2nd act work. You’ll also notice that the game is incomplete. There are some puzzle sequences and a couple of enemies and in 30 minutes you are done. It was a bit disappointing as the menu allows us to launch several chapters but these are separated by a maximum of 5 minutes gameplay only.

Continuation of the fisherman’s adventures

Estranged: Act II is a continuation of Part One. As a young fisherman, we are walking on an island where there are zombies. Our goal, of course, is to escape from the island, and John helps us to do this, or rather the news he left behind in the form of tapes or radio recordings.

Compared to the first part it will take us a little more time to complete the game. Graphically it is as nice as in the previous part. When it comes to music, it’s very good again. When the action happens, the music becomes louder and more dynamic, and in the moments of exploration it is gentle and slow.

Wanted Raccoon

Wanted Raccoon

I really love how fun WANTED RACCOON is & I’ve been really looking forward to playing this awesome game everyday as new content missions are added almost daily. I play a lot of RPG type games & they can quickly get boring with mindless button mashing & uninspired content. That isn’t the case with this game because so far the missions are very interesting to complete & sometimes the things you have to do are really funny. I can easily see myself replaying this game just for the sheer fun it offers plus the animal characters are super cute! The concept of using animals as the main characters is so cool that I wish more games would follow their example. I hope they offer a way to customize your raccoon in the future like maybe different shirts &/or hats & different styles of the backpack would be pretty neat. Another idea would be ways to vary the fur color pattern like maybe different under the eye fur patch shapes or different stripe patterns.

I will say that the game has a fair share of bugs–however, within the hour of the first game-breaking bug being found, the devs rolled out a patch to fix it. So, I’m not horrendously appalled by bugs, because they’re already showing how quickly they will fix them. It’s also very simple and quick to file bugs either on Discord or in-game.

The only other jarring potential is some localization issues to English. Which, I’m sure will be updated in time, as the devs are not English-based from what I can tell on their Discord. With the community as helpful as they seem, I’m sure a lot of the localization will be ironed out over time.

HALF DEAD 3

HALF DEAD 3

In its current state, it feels a bit unpolished, but its in early access so I give it a pass

it feels nice, it has new unique traps and death rooms, and now not only are they paying homage to the movie Cube, but they also pay homage to another movie, The Platform, with the tables of food that lower in on some rooms, and replace the bandages from the previous game

on top of healing being more scarce, there is also a temporary sheild mechanic you get when eating a lot of food, which I like

distroying the traps is a new mechanic that just doesn’t do it for me. you have to spend a shoe to get rid of one trap, and some rooms have more than one trap in them, and shoes just arent as plentiful (or I just dont see them) and it just dosn’t feel worth it, combine that with the weird hit box of the vial you need to hit and it just doesn’t do it for me. On the other hand, opening death room doors with shoes is a very forgiving thing that I feel works pretty well, even if it is a tad overpowered.

This is more of a mixed review than a negative one. I’ve played both HD1 and HD2 with friends and it has easily been one of the best games to just relax and have a good time with, or a game to get a good laugh out of. I knew what I was getting into going into this game, but I was genuinely surprised with how many things they’ve changed/added and it isn’t all for the better. First off, while Half Dead 2’s character customization left much to be desired, I was still very happy with the fact that we actually had customizable characters, but they got rid of that in place of 4 different characters to choose from with their own outfits to unlock and stuff. Right now the game feels like a shadow of what it once was, even with new traps and mechanics that make it stand out. They removed the bandages mechanic in place of health regeneration, which I think was also a bad move. Overall, this game has a ways to go but I was actually surprised when I was thinking that HD2 was actually better than this. If the devs stick to their promise of developing the game further and not abandoning the game outright, then I’ll change my review.

Brine

Brine

Not bad for a game just released, definitely not worth the $17 price tag at the moment, not much to do atm either besides a few buildables (pre placed all you can do is add logs) i managed to explore 3 islands (not sure if there is more) I’m quite interested to see where this game goes. I personally feel you should wait a few weeks/months to see if anything is added before picking up the biggest problems for me right now with this game

Save doesn’t work at all

Motion blur! Dear god allow me to disable that crap!

Ah, Brine. Once known as Strayed about a year or so ago, was a really interesting game for a low-key underated early-access game. With its survival mechanics and interesting gameplay, it looks like it has potential. But once it had turned into Brine, the menu became disgusting, and the gameplay disturbing. As disturbing, I dont mean DDLC disturbing or Horror; although, the graphics were basically horror in its self. During night time, you are blind as st unless you kill an animal and grab some sticks to make a torch. Even with the torch, your still blind. So, how do you continue? Wait. Wait till that sun comes up and you think, “Well fk, I wish it was night again,”. The sun doesn’t have a shape and is eating the world your in. Its f*ing bright as hell, and its annoying. Though, even though I disliked the graphics, the start, and the menu, I still feel like it has potential. If you just play the game for a while, look at a guide, or just fk around, you can see that the game (with all of its horrid graphics) can still turn out to be something. I recieved this product as a steam key, and I am not dissapointed. I paid $2 when i’d rather pay $5. If the devolopers take a look at this, they need to know that there is still people who think this game has potential. I hope you give this game a second chance instead of just hating the lack of tutorials, the horrid graphics, and the somewhat broken menu. Give the game time and support, and it can become a game we all want. ~ Farewell, LoganIsNotCool (name has no association with Logan Paul)

{Undefined}

Have you ever got to the point where you felt you would never get involved with an Early Access game again? (I know how you feel!) Well, {Undefined} has restored my faith in the Early Access process. The potential for the game is huge, and I would recommend looking at the road map to see what is ahead. Right now the tools ingame give so much freedom for creatively, so many options, that already somethings are possible that I haven’t seen in other builder/crafters. Being at an early stage people might say there isn’t much content. Fact is, you have the tools to make your own content while waiting for even more options to arrive. In the last 24 hours I have been both amazed and impressed as other players have shown just what they can do with their new found creative freedom.

So much potential would be cool if it had the building tools like Besiege and Space engineers

joined together so i can build some big hydraulic machinery

cause its going to take me years to mine underground with my iron pick lol

its so addictive i cant stop digging looking forward to the updates, keep up the

good work its going to be a great game.

10 Years After

10 Years After

10YA is an early access, story/quest based open world survival/ adventure. It has much in common with fallout and is, I believe made by fans of the series. It is not a typicaal DayZ, RUST or H1Z1, so if you came here for that alone, be prepared for.. A fallout style RPG-esque game. It will feature multiplayer in the future but is not an MMO and can be enjoyed as a single player game.

In its current state it shows much promise and I give it 10/10 (I will explain why), it is atmospheric, gritty and can make you jump but is unfinished. There are 2 short areas to explore with quests available leading into a huge oepn world to explore with a city, ruined buildings, npcs, bandits etc. There is voice acting for all dialogue including monologue provided by the fully voiced player character! which alone impresses me, especially for a small team withan indie budget. Also the dev has already began introducing fan requested features and has accepted some good ideas from community members. I have good faith in the small team.

Update 01/04/21

Simple edit to reassert my disappointment in Valve for continuing to allow this fugazi of a “game” and its worthless ilk to be sold via Steam.

Summary (TL;DR):

Neither the storepage’s description or media accurately represent what the buyer is getting. Ten Years After is essentially broken to the point of being unplayable in its current default build, and it’s been abandoned so its current state is also likely its final state. Consider yourself warned.

A Crooked Heart

Good potential. While now you can only play the prologue, the mechanics are simple to grasp, and I feel like there’s good potential in this indie game for speedrunning. Will watch closely!

This game is really cool! Simple and easy to understand, you can just jump into it without any fuss. The animation is delightful and utterly spooky at times. A sweet story of love and rescue is punctuated by perfectly matching music and it appears that more content is on the way in the future. I played it a couple of times and would eagerly revisit for new content.

Ad Wars

Ad Wars

Tired of ads?

Ad Wars is a multi-genre adventure game where you travel all over the Internet to destroy ads, once and for all!

The game is divided into 3 episodes, where each one of them is a completely different adventure with it’s own type of gameplay. You’ll find yourself jumping and shooting the mischievous yet endearing Gengens in Super Freemium Lands, taking on all sorts of monsters RPG-style in Clickbait Kingdom and playing the role of a roguelike detective in Download Highways. Oh, and did we mention that it all starts with Bullet Hell mania?

Story

Fate dealt humanity a swift and merciless hand one day. In what came to be known as the Ad-Pocalypse, anti-ad forces fought relentlessly against Ad Corporations but were completely decimated. Now, overrun by ads, the world is far from what it used to be, and it’s up to no other than Alt, the sole survivor of this cataclysm, to wage a last stand and free the world from the bane of ads once and for all.
