ZAMB! Endless Extermination

ZAMB! Endless Extermination

I have not played the 2014 release of this game, so I will review this version by itself. ZAMB! is a twin-stick shooter where you have to defend power nodes by building turrets, placing different types of traps, and using other offensive abilities. We played the co-op for a few hours and the game managed to give as a challenge by exposing our lack of teamwork ;). ZAMB has 2 playable characters, one of them places the turrets, and the other dude is more like a crowd-control spammer. However, both characters can pick up and carry turrets around which is really cool. There are a few different areas with multiple stages, each ending with a boss fight. The game even has an endless mode, control binding and lots of upgrades - more than I can say for some similar games. I would recommend playing it with someone, but it has the same content for single player as well (15 stages, 3 boss fights, and several endless maps)

Fun mix between a tower defense and a shooter. You can be either melee or range

Finish it in solo and coop. It also has an infinite mode

Difficulty pretty well balanced, with good powers and towers to unlock.

And even if it could be quite messy sometimes to see what’s going on with all the fx displayed, it’s definitely worth the price for a decent couple of hours

If you’re a fan of strategy games like Risk or Sid Meier’s Civilization series then you’ll probably enjoy this, since it somewhat falls in between the two–more complex than Risk, but much less micro-managing than the Civ games. I think Radiis is a little overpriced, but “overpriced” largely depends on how many hours of enjoyment you’ll get from it. I bought it on sale and have played more than 100hrs, so for me it was a great deal.

The missions are mostly challenging, but the AI could benefit from some tweaks. For example, the computer (NPC) players tend to focus on spamming buildings for added population growth, even when it would make more sense to expand their borders. Also NPCs never save money/tokens; if there’s enough finances to place buildings, it will place them whether they need to or not. And the NPCs boat placements are laughably inefficient.

I’ve always been into strategy games, but I don’t think I’ve ever found one that I’ve felt so compelled to write a review for.

This game is simply amazing for anyone who likes strategy games! Such a unique and different design. Gotta make sure to go through the campaign maps to learn and understand the different things available to you. There is always a viable strategy to victory in these maps, no matter how unlikely it may seem. Especially that final campaign map, you go into it thinking there’s no way this could be possible… but play it right and play smart, and it’s surprising how it really is doable!

Unreal Tournament 3 Black

I bought a boxed copy of this game from Amazon on the day it was released around 9 years ago. Since then I’ve played literally thousands of hours of UT3 and have just over 4 million kills to my name. For sure there are better UT players than me out there but very, very few have as much experience.

In many ways UT3 was and is the purest on-line ‘traditional’ (i.e. not a military game like Battlefield or ARMA) FPS experience ever brought to the PC. The graphics, sound and general game play still look good today and hold up relatively well against the likes of the recently released Doom and other such games.

This game is one of the best multiplayer shooters ever made (besides UT2004 of course).

UT3 is very fast paced compared to other first person shooters. Players have the ability to dodge and wall dodge in order to move even more faster & to avoid being hit by enemies. Players don’t have to worry about reloading their weapon either. Some servers may require you to pick up more ammo or weapons & some just have an unlimited ammo supply, but there is no need for hitting a reload key like in other first person shooters.
