An interesting game… Recommended for a fans of twin-stick shooters looking for something a little different.
The core concept of paying back a student loan by pillaging local star systems is both unique and provides some tactical options. Should you pursue an expensive yet effective degree and struggle to pay back both the principal and interest, or settle for a cheap but shoddy education and focus on upgrades? Ultimately, you need both the education and the upgrades, but the premise disguises what would otherwise be a transparent grind.

Fun, polished little arcade wave space shooter with a couple of modes including a ‘diablo’ style randomised loot system, customisation, leader boards, and several distinct ships to fly.

Astro-g
Astro-g is an extremely well-thought-out (and addicting!) game and filled with tons of fun, interesting, and challenging puzzles. I’ve been playing for a while now and it’s really a must-have if you enjoy creative problem solving and interesting puzzles. It’s definitely different than other games in the space.
Additionally, I find the music and sound effects to be thoroughly enjoyable and I’ve found myself getting sucked in for hours when I really should be working. Oops.
I would definitely recommend checking out this game. I struggle to think how someone wouldn’t like it.

Astro-g is the sort of game that you can switch on and relax with. It’s easy to play with super simple controls and instructions.
In the game you navigate your rocket through colourful galaxies avoiding all manner of space based obstacles. There’s something very satisfying about riding sling shot round planets before blasting into space portals. It’s awesome!
With different galaxies to navigate and dozens of levels to complete, there’s plenty to keep players happy.
Throw in some fun achievements and an increasing level of difficulty, there’s definitely a replay-ability factor with Astro-g.

Galaxy Squad
This game is fantastic, get it, you won’t regret it. It has a little FTL and a lot of X-Com, and IMHO is faster and funner to play. If you like single-player, turn-based, strategic, tactical, team-based, isometric shooters, with a bit of pressure to keep you moving (ala FTL), e.g., running from the Federation Police after your big heist, then, for the price, you can’t beat this game. It is definitely a one-more-click kind of game and I stayed up three nights in a row until 4am playing. There are a few minor issues/bugs, which Oleg, the Dev, is fixing quickly in patches (three in just the first 14 days).

TLDR: Galaxy Squad is a multilayered, rogue-like space RPG with tactical turn-based battles. While it shows promise, lots of work still needs to be done.

I like the idea of “multiple layers” in gameplay. i.e. there is a strategic map layer, an exploration layer (space docks, where you re-supply and get quests, etc.) and a tactical combat layer. Not many games do this (probably due to the challenge and amount of work), and fewer do it well.

The LoS combat system is functional, but needs work and refining. Combat and survival in this game is HIGHLY dependant on LoS and moving from cover to cover. Ignore this and you will get your a** shot off. Often.

Proberly THE best Top down space shooter you can get! When you unlock the capital ships you feel in a fight like Capt Kirk himself.
Even after all these years, this game is still my personal favorite when it comes to 2D space action. But not only the combat, also the ship building elements, upgrades and story make this a fantastic game. I also like the visuals - the colourful space looks beautiful! And the humour… oh my god! This game is so funny!

While I’m a bit late into the game of reviewing SPAZ, writing it anyway couldn’t hurt. Space Pirates and Zombies is a action-strategy space shooter with elements of random generation. While you have some control over how random it is, it only serves to increase or decrease the difficulty in the long run.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty solid. You pilot your ship around with WASD keys, and shooting your weaponry with the mouse. What makes it special if that you don’t point and shoot, but the direction of your ship controls where your shots are. If you place a weapon on the front of your ship, expect it to shoot forward until the higher class ships which have rotating turret mounts that do just that. Even then, anything other than lasers will still need to lead the target, as nothing is hitscan. This makes shooting more skill based.

It’s like a newgrounds Flash game back in 2007 but thousand times better
The gameplay itself is pretty much what you see. The controls are very unconventinal and hard at first but you get the hang of it. The gameloop is a bit like Starfox 2. You search the grid map for the portal getting you to a new map. Random events occur everytime you move tho.
Has a lot of unlockable units and weapons now which you get as a random reward for clearing these map events.
For such a low price you can most assurely try it out at least.

Grand Brix Shooter. This is a hyper arcade shoot’em up game made by Intragames. The developer, Intragames has been primarily a game publisher so far, but they also have taken part in making the games. so this game is one of their in-house project games. One of the main developers said that his dev team stayed up countless days all night long to bring up the characteristics of original thrilling action arcade scrolling shooter. Developer effort and game fun aren’t necessarily proportional, but let’s take a look at what it is. ;)

I personally really enjoyed playing it. The game is very direct, simple to understand with a really reasonable price. I would definitely recommend the game to my friends. There is a leaderboard at the end, the scores from other countries can be viewed and that was one thing that made me play over and over again.

FTL: Faster Than Light
It’s cheap, it’s fun, there’s lots of different ways to play. There’s lots of mods that add tons more content. Easily one of the funnest games I’ve played.
