Gaze At Maze
“Gaze at Maze” has definitely no promising title.
And the fact that the word “maze” is repeated like 20 times in a single Steam store page too made me think at first glance of this one as a failed indie attempt..
Well, it’s really indie - the whole game is the result of the work of a single man, Anamik Majumdar, whom my historian senses tell me he comes from India.
I love India!
The game has a partial controller support - unluckily, I didn’t make it out with my old light one.. clicking on the controls menu shows you a nice graphical introduction to all the buttons and such, but my controller wasn’t answering well and yeah, all in all it’s “partial support” so I went on with my keyboard.

Game description key-points: heavily pixeled platformer for kids

The Valley of Super Flowers is a joke/flower themed 2D retro pixel platformer/shooter where you control a person with a flower for a head who carries a gun around. Jump between platforms, shoot enemies, avoid inexplicable buzzsaw blades rolling along the ground.
I have no idea who thought this was a good idea, or what drugs they were on. Terrible joke theme aside, you get ugly pixel graphics (for a game released in 2020!), fixed controls, bad controls (jumping is especially awful) giving a bad look and feel, and they couldn’t work out how to make widescreen work so the game displays in pillarboxed 4:3, way beneath acceptable standards for PC gaming today. The price is low, but still too high for a game of such low quality.

SilverFrame(纯白星原)
It’s like a newgrounds Flash game back in 2007 but thousand times better
The gameplay itself is pretty much what you see. The controls are very unconventinal and hard at first but you get the hang of it. The gameloop is a bit like Starfox 2. You search the grid map for the portal getting you to a new map. Random events occur everytime you move tho.
Has a lot of unlockable units and weapons now which you get as a random reward for clearing these map events.
For such a low price you can most assurely try it out at least.

The game seems to be not updating anymore and its still in (early access for almost 3 years)
-need controller support
-optimization
-the controls are confusing as heck

Skyrift
Skyrift is a reaction-based game about deflecting projectiles, and while I had a hard time with the colors, it would be a lot of fun if I got better at it. The leaderboard adds competition, too. 6/10

Jaxon The Thief
Would rather watch a child drowning than play more of this game.
Other review was false, it’s level 9 where it becomes unbearably toxic and bad. This game promotes police brutality, shoddy security systems and endorses Joe Biden over Bernie Sanders (in essence).
Honestly, I wish the aspect ratio was THINNER so there would be less of a level needed to complete.
Overall,

Mission XAM
This is the second chance I gave this game. There is a small progression (switching weapons finally works) but I still can not recommend this game even for determined achievement hunters (because the achievements do not work).

Simple retro platformer game. Gets repetitive fast as the levels are basically the same over and over again. I’m sure the developer had a lot of fun designing the game assets (as stated in the description) and they do look good for a retro-styled game. If you’re looking for something to pass the time with and gain some Steam Achievements, then give this game a try. However, if you’re looking for a platformer with more depth, look elsewhere.
Note: I was able to reach level 5, but the game bugged out on me as my character would not pick up the ammo spawn when moving over it. The ammo is crucial to passing the levels. At this point I’m stuck at level 5 and cannot progress forward. The game just released, so hopefully the developer will fix this issue.

Warships On The Halloween Night
Actually the game is kind of fair for what it is , which is a rather poor version of Raptor/Tyrian 2000 -
That said then I think that the game needs better customization options for settings, including ability to turn off music without turning off other sound, custom keyboard settings option , and last but not least a sensitivity setting for the sideways movement , at least sensitivity for short time key press to allow to better position adjustment without banging into side walls or other stuff.

Warships on the Halloween Night is a 2D top down vertical scrolling retro pixel bullet hell shmup. Control a warship with 4 different weapon types (and limited ammo) and shoot warships and evil pumpkins, because I guess those were the only game assets the developers could rip off from wherever.
Gameplay here is on par with the graphics and delivery… extremely bad. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel “art” as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It’s unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

Electronic World Z
Electronic World Z is a laugably bad 2D retro pixel platformer with a janky computer monitor person as the protagonist. I know, yeah, whatever. Gameplay consists of carefully timed jumps between platforms to avoid zappy spikes and other timed obstacles.
Here’s my copypasta for this kind of retro pixel crapware: They chose to use obsolete retro pixel “art” as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It’s unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. This is the 2nd game from this developer that I’ve played that I recall and it isn’t setting a very good precident. This is another low effort title with broken mechanics. Fix your games.
