Adventure Mosaics: Forest Spirits is a nonogram puzzler that’s on the casual side of things but is still fun to play. $6 might be on the pricier side, but if you can pick it up on sale, try it. 6/10

Seems like they took the complaints about the first game being free to play and went nuts fixing the issues.

I personally preferred the first game but this one is also fun.

Magic Wings is the sequel to an originally mobile nomogram game. Gone are the microtransactions, and instead, its built-in hint system refreshes with time without restriction. With exactly 200 puzzles to solve, it’s quite the bang for your buck compared to many other puzzle games on Steam, but bear in mind that once it’s over, it’s over - there’s nothing here to pad replayability beyond completion.

Pros

✅ 200 Puzzles. How many games can boast that number?

✅ Layered puzzles, meaning 3-6 interwoven nomograms in each stage

Detective notes. Lighthouse Mystery Solitaire

Detective notes. Lighthouse Mystery Solitaire

Quite a good solitaire game, with an intriguing story, good graphics & suitable suspence music. I’d say, it’s on par with Regency Solitaire & definately deserves more players.

It has a short intermediate sequence at the end of every chapter of a hidden objects game. I am not really a fan of hidden objects games or majong, which some of the solitaires also have included, but i find this HO mini game not very hard to master & matching well the atmosphere of a detective story, so still a recommendation. On top, you can just skip it.

As much as I love shooters and RPG sword play etc, sometimes I like to play a chill game and relax. This game does that. I am a fan of solitaire and hidden object games, so I like the idea of bridging the gap between the two and also having an in depth story line. I’ve only played chapter 1, but so far I have not encounter any bugs. The game play seems smooth. My only complaint is I wished the developer would have included puzzles like that are in other hidden object games, but over all I am enjoying the game. So, yes I recommend this game to anyone else that likes the solitaire/HOG genres.

PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords

PuzzleQuest: Challenge of the Warlords

Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords is an addicting puzzle game with an added roleplaying element. The title was developed by Infinite Interactive and published by Namco Networks America. Anyone who has played Tetris, Bejewelled or any similiar game will be quite familiar with the puzzle portion of this fantastic title but for me, as a heavy R.P.G. fan, it was this part of the game that really makes it stand apart from the others in the genre.

As in the start of a typical roleplaying game you select your character and class before the terrific story sends you traveling across a vast fantasy world in search of quests, battles and loot. I found the story to be extremely compelling and at times humorous. It definitely keeps your attention and makes you want to wander about and converse with any person or beast that would cross your path. The combat, of course, takes place in puzzle format and tasks you with matching pairs of colored gems, skulls and other items while casting spells as well as a variety of other attacks and moves against your opponent. As you battle you earn experience points which you can spend upgrading your skills as well as accquiring gold and loot with which you can better outfit your character. You also have the option to capture opponents and hold them in your dungeon. You can then learn new spells and combat tactics from your prisoners as well as use the captured beasts as mounts as you traverse the world.

Many people say that AI cheats in this game. There already are a lot of reviews describing the game mechanics, so I decided to dwell a bit on this cheating matter.

The PC opponent doesn’t get better random drops than a human player. I’ve spent a lot of time noting all chain reactions leading to the extra turns and tons of damage, and I saw that the chances of you and AI getting the lucky strike are pretty much similar, BUT it might seem that the computer cheats.

Why is that so?

First, we tend to attribute our wins to our skill, and our losses to our bad luck. That’s one funny bias. And it’s not limited to videogames for sure. If we get a good contract or a promotion, it means we’re skilled and we’re great. If someone else gets it, they’re a lucky bastard. Back to the game, when we make our careful measured moves and get good drops, we think, yay, I’m so good at this game! But when AI gets the same good drops, we never think, ooh, my PC is a strong player. No! Cheat! Not fair!

Adventure mosaics. Small Islanders

Adventure mosaics. Small Islanders

The story is just a couple short lines per island, but the visuals are very nice and the actual Nonagrams puzzles are well-designed.

This game does instantly let you know if you make a mistake and corrects it. This honestly drives me nuts, especially because the game gives you a little star rating if you make no mistakes. This is weirdly common in so many digital puzzle games and I don’t like it.

However, if you are wiling to play carefully the multi-color nonograms are designed well and you often have to switch colors to figure out some portion of the puzzle, then switch back. The puzzles are honestly well done. There is also a fairly forgiving hint system if you get stuck or find the puzzles too difficult. The game is honestly quite relaxing, and I enjoy it very much, even though I wish it didn’t punish misclicks so heavily.

Click Legends

Click Legends

Not a clone but greatly inspired by Clicker Heroes.

The main problem with this idle game is that there is too much RNG which makes your progression uneven. There are runs where you’ll reach lower levels than before with higher DPS.

Does not cost much but is not much worth either.

Click Legends is a small clicker and idle game that borrows some features from the first game of the developer “God Awe-Full Clicker” but this time it is without microtransactions.

The graphics are kinda simple and nice.

You level up your heroes but only up to Level 150 and then do a small reset on them to raise their damage. For that you need “Bloodstones” that you also need to prestige your whole game, so keeping some is a good idea, as they come quite rarely except for the Statue that brings sometimes some with it.
