It’s okay like a mobile game but that’s all it is. The Flappy Bird like swim mechanics combined with the combo linking spin attacks you are obligated to do so you won’t die that will send you to your death all while listening to a song that is short and repetitive is some of the reasons I can’t recommend this. There are better cheap games on steam and this one just seems to have mechanics that are against you.

Fear Half Factor is a very lazy retro pixel vertical scrolling endless runner style game where you chase people to convert them to ghosts like yourself. There’s little to no gameplay apart from moving around left and right. The graphics are quite poor and the gameplay terrible. There’s no 16:9 support despite the game being released in 2018.
I can’t recommend this lazy shovelware.

Average game, not good not bad. Main problem is that this is a gamemaker engine game so only bad 2d graphics and bad interface and AI.

Tabletop Gods
I have had loads of fun with this game! Easy to learn, difficult to master.
This game shines in its simplicity. Top-down tabletop design, three factions, similar units and buildings available between factions – yet still so much variety in how each game can play out.
Some have suggested that the developers add more factions, but I disagree. I think to add more than the three current factions would make it a bit too convoluted. While the units and structures available for each faction are similar, there are enough unique attributes to each that it creates a ton of spontaneity from match to match.

I got this game for free and didn’t know what to expect at all.
To my suprise, this is a very well done game and the best is its multiplayer feature, where several players can hangout and watch 2 of them play a match. After that, the next ones of the group battle eachother. A great way to hangout!
The game is PLAYABLE IN VR and also PLAYABLE IN NON VR!!!! Both modes are pretty balanced, which is really hard to find. So for those VR players out there: This is the game you want to play with your non VR buddys!

Taphouse VR
Taphouse VR is rough around the edges and simplistic by design, but it offers an endearing and amusing experience which is difficult to refuse considering its free nature and how different it manages to be in this simplicity, amidst an onslaught of desperately similar wave shooters.
As far as “learning curve” games for VR go, titles which are just about perfect to introduce people to the basics of VR without risking motion sickness or property damage, Taphouse is excellent. It’s not particularly beautiful and certainly a janky experience, but it also has a nice atmosphere which can actually get quite comfy in the right mindset.

To be honest, this game is one of the most impressive games that you get for free. It is challenging, has good control, has a good replayability and you still can goof around a bit.
It’s a bar Simulator where people order drinks, either very simple ones or mixtures, and while making mixtures isn’t too hard (the game is very forgiving with the percentages), you can still mess up drinks easily by not looking correctly. You can also use the money you earn for a slot machine conviently placed behind your counter to either gamble it all away or win huge jackpots. Currently is has 2 modes: “normal”, which is basically a time trial where you get rated in the end on how well you have done, and “sandbox”, which never stops unless you want to. The “normal” mode is very fun, but also become very challenging to get the best rating at the harder stages, as you have to serve more people at once and thus cash in more money as well.

Boon Boon
Boon Boon is one of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. This isn’t one of the “good” ones, either. It’s a simple vertical scrolling puzzle as you must climb to the top of each level while avoiding baddies and obstacles, collect the lollypops and run into your girlfriend to finish the level.
The implementation here is garbage tier. The game only displays in 4:3, so presumably they developed this in a cave with a 1990’s PC and a 4:3 CRT monitor. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel “art” as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It’s unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

Epic Skater 2
Great Game.

Last review was of the early access version. Only right to do the full version of the game. This game is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2D basically. And by basically, I mean WTF I played this 5 hours straight a day?? The game is great, every problem/ bug thrown at the devs they fixed at a resonable timeframe. Achievements are good to go after, and 100 of them. Devs listen on their discord. For an eternity of re-playability, get yourself a THPS/ THPS2 soundtrack playlist and go on a mix of nostalgia and new age gaming wave to really put yourself in a fucking early 2000’s gaming nuthouse.

The Christmas Gifts
Ug, I’m not even going to spend my usual amount of time reviewing this “thing.” It’s a crap action-platformer that has LIMITED AMMO that furthermore DOESN’T REPLENISH when you die! Yeah, if you’re not doing well, you can very easily end up with no ammo and tons of respawned enemies in front of you (because even though your ammo doesn’t respawn, your enemies do), making progressing impossible. Jumping feels weird and unnatural, hitboxes are square and terrible, obstacles are confusing and will one-hit kill you even when it looks like you can pass under them (see previous comment about hitboxes ;) ), and the repetitive music will make you want to rip off your own ears and feed them to the cat.

Clunky controls, especially the jump mechanic : sometimes you will not jump and fall into a trap, sometimes you will jump and get stuck into the edge of a platform, and sometimes you will jump then jump again if you did not release the jump button quick enough. That itself is already quite frustrating.
Then, the levels are badly designed. In particular, the traps are set in such a way that, for most of them you need to execute an almost perfect jump, which is, well … look above. Plus, given that you cannot see that far away, you will most likely fall and die without time to react (small saw trap, enemies killing you instantly by touching you, …).
