Darwin’s Demons

Darwin’s Demons

A convoluted attempt at updating the classic Space Invaders style of game. It’s interesting in some ways and is jam packed with a variety of strange options. Unfortunately it also suffers from having so much jammed into it that none of it really feels as fluid or timeless as the game it’s trying to riff off of. A lot of options exist just to clutter up your options and make the game feel more full rather than actually enhancing the game play in any notable way.

Overall if this had a price tag over $1 I’d probably thumb it down, but for free it’s at least worth checking out. It’s not terrible, it’s just really weird and could have been done better.

A fun arcade game with a neat twist. Could use more variety on what the aliens can mutate to though, espeicially when everything is going very, very badly for them.

Or, it might just be that “The Finch” ship is extreemly OP - massive offence and defense mean it is easy to survive without wasting money, and you can then get the splash size of your main weapon up so large that it clears the back wave. Combined to getting the fire rate down to 0.05 seconds, it measn the entire inital wave vaporizes when you first fire, and everything that spwns in dies instantly.

Things that never change in this game:

The backgrounds. The music. The enemies. The gameplay. The cynicism.

A mix of tower defense with runner designs starts from an good base, the implementation however misses the target. Many of the player choices have no meaningful impact resulting i far to slow pacing.

I am a person who studies psychology.

This is an amazing game of concept.

It’s an important concept that life’s destiny can change as you face emotion.

It’s all about psychological issues. It’s amazing how this is implemented as a game.

I hope to improve the game by reflecting various opinions about the game itself

This game is highly recommended for many people. But if they know the value and meaning of the game.

Played the original when it came out. and also played InCell VR back when it still cost money. I really enjoyed both, and this one is also great :)

I like the environments, very relaxing. Voice acting has improved since the first 2.

Bit more educational than the other two.

Good game, and it’s a pretty cheap one too. Definitely worth a buy if you have a VR headset.

An irritated game.

Many of the indie works of puzzle games made in ten years have inspired by Portal, and this game is also one of them.

The problem occurs right after startup.

This game starts in a resolution of 1920x1080, which my monitor does not support.

and I can not change the setting even if I try to change the resolution.

I can not set mouse sensitivity and keyboard setting.

Although mouse sensitivity was not a problem by default, no consideration was given at all.

Other discontent…

I am dissatisfied with the action action, often fail with the jump action.

Absolutely not worth the price.

A lot of the puzzles are skippable.

The puzzles themselves aren’t hard, and by god that end level is just so boring. I don’t care about spoiling this game for you, so here goes: you fly in this spaceship for around 15 minutes through these barely visible green rings, and then after doing this you will see this planet, and stare at it for around 4 minutes, because you’re moving at mach -3.

There are some numbers infront of the planet for some reason and they do count down at roughly 1 unit of whatever per second. It started at 626 or so and ended at around 400, so about 4 minutes of staring at this planet. Then you crash, not even being close to be near it yet, so the units doesn’t make any sense, and that’s the end.

The Electric Shocktopus

The Electric Shocktopus

This is one of my favorite games that I have played recently. It has really good replay value and is fun to collect all the stars. Even when those things start to bore me, the intuitive level editor holds me over with some amazing user made levels as well as trying to make my own. I currently hold the world record speedrun of this game (sorry to brag) and hope others would try as well. All in all, a solid 5 star game for me.

Boson X

Boson X

I started playing this game a little over two years ago after somebody mentioned it in the comments section of a Super Hexagon video on YouTube, saying something to the effect of “If you think this game is hard, then you should try Boson X!” Having been looking for a new game to try out, I decided I might as well buy it and see what the game was all about.

Boson X quickly became my favorite game to play during downtime, such as before leaving for school or waiting to go someplace. I could play it while I was talking to friends online, while listening to music, or if I just needed to get my mind off of something, I could open the game and collide particles until I felt better.

Boson X. An fast-paced indie platformer that requires a lot of memorization of patterns to get you through.

It seems that the objective is to help two (or three if you consider a robot one) scientists discover three particles by traveling through some visual starfield. The goal is to run along blue platforms that emerge from the endless void around you, building up enough energy to spark a particle. This task, as you progress, isn’t as easy as it seems as newer stages bring forth new obstacles, may it be moving white flats, fragile red flats, thick walls, and even rings that emit electric currents. All this game really needs is mind power and complete concentration.

Problems.

Movement: Teleport and it’s far to slow, the powerup time or whatever takes to long and gets frustrating. Do touchpad movement and offer normal teleport.

Reload: it’s terrible, it doesn’t work most of the time and it would be easier to just have a lower gun to side or push a button. Anything than a little area at your waist that is hard to find the right spot and most times just doesn’t work.

Real player with 0.8 hrs in game

The game is worth it for the price, is not great but it could be. It has some inconvenience like the drops in places that are impossible to reach or them float in the space. I do enjoy it really, but here I want to tell you 3 points that disappoint me.

-The movement cooldown, I don’t have any problem with tp movement games, I do usually prefer to move with the touchpad and would be awesome to add that into the setting. The problem with that is the cooldown indicator, is none so I feel frustrate when there are a lot of orcs and need to move smoothly and I can’t.
