Of Ships & Scoundrels
Did you like Pirates? Do you like turn-based combat? Do you like random maps and exploring?
Then this game could be something for you. For an early access Indie title, it’s got surprisingly good graphics (especially the sea), a real story in single player mode, and some funny mystic creatures. There’s a touch of Age of Wonders, but the battles are less tactical.
POSITIVE
-
good graphics
-
mystic creatures pimp the pirates scenario
-
nice story (no Heavy Rain, though)
-
high replay value (random quests, random maps, hotseat mode)

Looks amazing, nice atmosphere and unique interesting game mechanics. I like it!
You know where the journey is heading. With some little improvements in EA and more content I will be able to put hours in this :)!
Good strategy will lead you to your victory and will demolish your friends, but don’t forget about the immersive story though. Good price for a good game! Go on like this.

The Unexpected Quest
Note well: this is not really a combat game. If you’re looking for hack-and-slash, try elsewhere. This is a puzzle/strategy game, with resource collecting an essential feature. Yes, you fight monsters, but it’s not complicated; it isn’t meant to be. It’s your strategic abilities that come into play here above all; analysing each level for priorities is important, and so is deciding how to use your resources.
That said, I really like the cute characters and their quest against oddly comic undead. I love the strategic gameplay–for everyone who said ‘this is too easy’, there’s someone like me who prefers it on a more laidback level than (e.g.) Dark Souls!

I played the game a few hours now and what can I say, the game is awesome.
Switching between first and third person is a lot of fun. You can command and build from the air. and on the ground you can really fight along with the soldiers, it’s cool. I’ve rarely seen anything like this in VR games. The graphics are good and the atmosphere is really great, like a first C&C in VR, and there’s a little story too. It also runs very smooth on my old PC, but I had to reduce the graphics. For the price really good fun and I can absolutely recommend it.

SORALAND
Soraland is good little game. Developer actively developing it at the time of this review. Currently game has two modes: Main game, let’s say “Campaign” mode, and mini games. Campaign mode is a very enjoyable source management simulation. You collect sources to build your little town, fight monsters and overthrow the enemy castles. After you expand enough you go for the enemy castle. I think there will be more castles in the future, menu has different objectives but they are locked at the time being.

The game looks and feels nice, par the clunky mouse movement (Dev said they would add mouse sensitivity option soon). I had to use a controller to play.
However the major downfall for this game is how short it is.. It can be completed in just over 1 hour. Personally speaking, for the price it currently is the game is way too short.
(Which is why currently I can’t recommend the game sorry) If the price is adjusted to reflect the amount of content, and/or their is enough content added to justify the price then I will update my review accordingly)

The Hero We Need
Create your unique towers, upgrade only the parts you need, build an arsenal of towers, or try them out in survival mode.
In THWN, each tower is individually created with runes that define the projectile and effects. This allows for versatile strategies that match your playstyle.
Fight your way through hordes of demons and enemies alike to discover Elizia, a world where the 5 realms of humans, elves, trolls, dwarfs, and turtle folk lived in harmony until the demons invaded.
REVIEWS

The Rebellion
If you are here reading this and the game is on sale for under $5.00, just buy it. EZPZ! I just saved you a bunch of time reading other reviews!
I love the potential TR has. It has a long way to go but the devs are showing me they are serious about their creation and I love it. The game is not there yet on a number of things, like 3rd person combat and adding a tutorial, but I’m seeing improvements every patch! I still have a lot to learn about the game but even in this early state I will recommend TR, but at the moment, only when its on a Steam sale.

While I did receive this for free and have been helping them test, I have found myself booting it up to play the survival mode without being prompted and doing it for fun. (TL;DR at bottom for lazy)
I have to say, the survival mode is quite fun. Difficult, but the challenge is what makes it fun. Furthest I’ve gotten is Battalion 5 on survival mode, which took over 2 hours to get to and I had a blast the entire time because my hero got OP halfway through. It scales with the population cap you set, the players in the game, and the difficulty you select. Normal is a decent challenge, Hard is, predictably hard, and nightmare difficulty is near impossible.
