Cook Dungeon
Honestly I love this game. Most people are blasting it for stolen are and what not but its cheap and the devs listen to the community. This game has amazing speed running potential with all of the glitches in it. I find myself coming back for more and I really enjoy the time playing this game. Some of the bugs can get annoying at times but seeing how the devs are actually working on making the game better I would say that they will not be around for long. I do feel like the game needs a tutorial or something to help you understand what you are doing but some people like having to figure that out. With 21 hours in this game I cant recommend this game enough and I feel like this game can really go somewhere in the future.

This game is a zero. I played it and thought it was fun at first. I thought there might be a trick to the “cooking”, but after extensive testing it seems to be random. I thought maybe you could infinitely clear the dungeon and get stronger… But no. Maybe encounter cool and interesting enemies… Also no… Also they STOLE PIXEL ART FROM OTHER GAMES!!! Namely POKEMON. Which is wrong… for a little more info read on.
If you beat the main “BOSS” but don’t save the princess eventually the game will lock you in an inescapable room.

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy
Procedural roguelite RPG in a vast world
Unexplored 2 creates a vast, rich fantasy world for you to discover. It has a cool twist on permadeath: your character may die, but the world might persist. The game is an ambitious, procedural action-RPG without grind, xp, or gold. Instead the story is all about your choices and their consequences as history unfolds.
As the titular Wayfarer you take on the quest to destroy the Staff of Yendor, for which you’ll have to traverse your world. Along the way you’ll meet tribes, encounter magical creatures and explore ancient ruins to discover mythical weapons and historic items.
When you die…
The game is challenging and you will die often. You may make a wrong choice, take on one too many creatures, or forget to stock up on food before traveling a desert. Whatever the reason, when your character dies, they’re gone. No autosaving or quickloading.
However, you can choose to continue your adventures with a new character in the same world, a few years later. Your new character will witness the result of the choices your previous adventurer made. You can leave items in a safe spot, ready for your next Wayfarer to pick up and use.
The world ends
You can try to fulfill your quest to destroy the Staff of Yendor with consecutive Wayfarers in the same world. However, when you die during your final mission, your world ends. Permanently.
So, make sure you are prepared well and know everything there is to know about the last and most dangerous part of your adventure.
When you fail, that world vanishes. The only thing left to do is to generate a whole new world with its own history, and begin the quest anew.

Labyrinth Legend
100%, Over 100+ hours; I guess I can write a review now! giggles
There are two modes: the regular one, that has points you can go back to if you fail or just wanna hunt for loot; the other one, ‘Extra Game’ is the rogue-like mode, which I recommend getting familiar with the story mode before playing the Extra Game.
There is a lot of content and difficulty settings, Easy to understand loot, and potions are filled when back at town. Plus, the visual style of the areas are really nice, and the soundtrack is amazing, especially in later stages!

Songbringer
Do I recommend “Songbringer”? With some time thinking, yes. Yes, I do.
Honestly, it took me some time to get warm with it. The selling point of the game is the gameplay and as a beginner it is really hard to get into it. And as further the story goes, the more unfair passages, where it is impossible not to get hit, you encounter. However, after the first playthrough you might change your opinion, like I did. Give it a shot.
The most obvious game on Steam you can compare it with is probably “Hyper Light Drifter” as it looks and feels the same way. Beyond Steam you’ll see more similarities with the very first “Legend of Zelda” though.

TL;DR - Songbring exceeded all my expectations. Normally Zelda-esque games disappoint me and make me sad. Songbringer won my undivided attention even though I was working on a paper for my Master’s. Revelling has never been more fun, and with multiple ways to solve various problems, procedural world generation, and alternate endings, Songbringer is a no brainer. Buy it. 8.2/10
–-
Graphics: Songbringer is retro… but retro in the style of retro on crack. The visuals at first seem kind of interesting but nothing special. Then as you progress in the game, you start to see all the added effects. Particle effects are done extremely well. Night to day effects, death effects, use of special items… all effect the game in a great way and help set the mood.

Transcendence
You can actually try the WHOLE base game for free, and then if you like it you can buy the additional content that comes with the steam version. FYI.
This game is fun and addictive. Its also got a pretty steep learning curve. When you start and have no idea what you are doing, you will die. A lot. It is as hard a teenage boy in the cheerleaders lockerroom at changing time. That is, until you know what you are doing, at which point you can focus on using your money wisely on the various ship upgrades. Once you get the basics down, it is easier and massively rewarding. My suggestion is on your first go around just use it as a learning experience, get some idea of what everything does enough that on the second attempt you will know exactly which weapons and upgrades to buy. You have to specifically test out a number of things blindly before you know what they are, which is useful for the second (or third) run which should go a lot more smoothly. Given the early stuggle, it is very satisfying to wreck previously tough enemies after you get the right equipment.

At its heart, Transcendence is a hybrid of Escape Velocity and Rogue. If that concept excites you, no need to read further; just buy it!
The game meshes the story of a galactic pilgrimage at the behest of the God Domina, with real time, 2D top-down combat across randomly generated star systems (effectively serving as “dungeons”) and a healthy dollop of loot. The star systems always follow a standard progression in terms of the factions and events you will encounter, so they are not entirely random. However, the implementation still ensures that no two games are ever the same.

Ampersat
Ampersat is a shooty, slashy, RPG-y game mixing old-school/retro and modern sensibilities. A blend of influences from Gauntlet and Smash TV to Zelda and a dash of Angband, this is a handcrafted adventure with much appeal to fans of Roguelites. A labor of love from a solo developer, Ampersat distills some favorite childhood gaming experiences into a fresh, fun hybrid that sees you killing a lot of monsters, finding a lot of loot, freeing captured letters (um, what?) and growing from a world-weary warrior mage into a powerful smashing/blasting machine!
Main Features
-
More than 50 handcrafted levels, many with exploration and light puzzles
-
Optional endless procedural area
-
Original gameplay elements based around freeing and capturing letters
-
Flexible character progression with extensive skill tree
-
Hundreds of unique pieces of loot find, buy, sell and augment
-
Upgradeable town hub
-
Tackle stages in the order you choose
-
50 unique creature types with individual AI, 10 fiendish bosses
-
Drop-in local async co-op (and online using Steam Remote Play Together) - suitable for young players to team up with their parents
You may notice the main character and enemies are ASCII letters - yes, this is an aesthetic throwback to the original Rogue games, and the blending of these with colorful 3D top-down environments was the idea that first spawned Ampersat. Likewise, Commodore 64 SID chip sound effects are used alongside real-world music for a distinctive experience. But just what is an “ampersat?” It’s the leading contender for the official name of the @ symbol, of course!
Overview
Gentlheim has been invaded by Lord Z, who has surrounded the village with 5 extraplanar towers and the dungeons beneath, filled with evil creatures. Even worse, he has stolen language itself from the townspeople! As the warrior mage Ampersat, you must venture deep into the dungeons and high above the land in the treacherous towers, defeat countless minions and restore language to Gentlheim so the townsfolk can communicate properly and help you defeat Lord Z himself.
Gentlheim
Gentlheim has shops to buy and sell goods; an Inn to heal up, level up, and stash gold to retrieve after death; and a deep Well leading to randomly generated procedural levels. There are various structures you can pay to upgrade and, as language returns to the village, townsfolk who may need something… Gentlheim hides a few surprises for the inquisitive gamer and provides a hub area to approach different stages in any order you like, or revisit levels you’ve already beaten.
The Well is where the “roguish” aesthetics are turned up to 11, providing short, sharp, loot-gathering deep delves once you repair it. There’s an old rumor that something very special is buried at the bottom of the well… but no one has ever reached those depths.
Co-op
Ampersat’s async co-op is true drop-in, drop-out at any time. The second player controls a fairy that hovers around Ampersat and also launches attacks. Will you trust them with your best spell? No? They might steal it anyway… While the fairy’s shots aren’t as powerful and contribute to overheating, it has the huge advantage of being invulnerable. The perfect partner… if you can get along.
