Vagrant Sword

Vagrant Sword

Simply game, rewarding when you make progress. It starts off in this town where everyone warns you about a temple so that’s where you obviously gotta go too. The dungeons are randomly generated so you can’t prepare, the only this you gotta do is get cash and get better weapons/gear. It’s punishing at first to die but not discouraging so once you get the hang of dodging you really get into the swing of things.

Overall its a good game for the price, it’s also quick to beat but still enjoyable!

Pretty straightforward game, relaxing medieval Japanese music. Reminds me of my very first Pokemon game.

Final Foe

Final Foe

Final Foe is an isometric fantasy arena that challenges you to slay waves of monsters in a mysterious dungeon. Single player and co-op modes. Modifiers and boss rounds. Survive and fight to the end, until the last enemy is killed!

Main Features

  • Atmospheric medieval location.

The old cursed dungeon with several gates awaits you, from which numerous enemies arrive. You can also find dangerous traps that will come in handy to eliminate enemies

  • Non-target combat system.

This system works for both players and enemies. This means that any enemy attack can be dodged.

  • Campaign mode.

You need to destroy enemies round after round, including a short tutorial and several boss battles. As you progress, the difficulty increases. And at the end you will find the most powerful enemy - the final boss.

  • Survival mode.

This mode is one endless battle, during which more and more strong enemies appear. The goal is to score as many points as possible for killing enemies. Especially sophisticated players can choose the Ultra-difficulty level. This will allow you to get 3 times more points, but will require dodging any damage, since the character will only have 1 health point.

  • Various enemies.

Endless living dead, terrible knights, insidious magicians and many others, about whom you can find out when you meet. Different enemies have different characteristics. Some are weak and slow, some attack from a distance, and some can get so angry that it will be impossible to stop them…

  • Bosses.

As you progress through the Campaign mode, you will encounter several bosses. Fighting some of them will require special skill from you.

  • Skill tree.

The development of your character will take place by learning skills in the skill tree. At the moment, there are 3 intermediate and 4 advanced character classes available. Each of the advanced classes has unique active and passive abilities.

  • Cooperative multiplayer.

It is much more fun to destroy crowds of enemies together with your friends. This feature allows you to play in a team of up to 4 people.

Intro

The farming sim genre has been on the rise recently. They usually have similar mechanics as Harvest Moon, although other games try to mix it with other genres. Seeing that Peachleaf Pirates is a combination of point and click and farming sim elements, I become curious about how the result will be, especially since both don’t seem to be similar in the control scheme.

UPDATED ***

Thanks to the developer for letting me know about the information, i now finished the game.

I really enjoyed the farming side of the game, the combat was also fun, but i found the click and point side of the game a bit repeditive, just like the last part of the game i had to criss cross the map i think 4 times just to finish in 1 day.

Overall 6/10

after 20 hours i give up on this “point and click RPG” parts of the game, its not clear at all what to do , i see multiple side quests but they aren’t logged on the journal , i spend 40 minutes to complete a quest to save a parrot only to find out it didn’t continue the story at all and only gave me a discount at a shop i no longer need to use. Another i found a “winning ticket” to a casino which wouldn’t let you into the casino and i assume its for voodoo but the voodoo woman has dissappeared. Once this game has a properly designed walkthrough to help you when you get stuck this game is a big thumbs down. I really was enjoying all of the other elements of the game but the “point and click problem solving” needs a lot more “problem solving” from the developer. A hint system or something and ad all the minor things to quests and let us know what actually moves the story forward and what is a side quest like the parrot mission.

Symbiotic

Symbiotic

Story

Symbiotic is a sci-fi action drama visual novel with dark undertones, and a love story which will be a roller coaster of emotion. As Zaydin and company go through the rigorous training to master the use of their symbiote partners, they must overcome numerous obstacles and fight enemies far beyond their control, all while dealing with the emotions that come with being teenagers. The race is on for the survival of mankind in this grueling war with another world!

Zaydin is a young complicated kid trying to cope with the loss of his mother, an evil entity attempting to control his mind, and the war of the worlds waged by alien Symbiotes, who have come to eradicate or consume all life on earth. While attending SCAR institute, the principal of the establishment, Neolinus, acts as his caretaker/guardian, at the request of Zaydin’s deceased mother. Neolinus is seen as a pain in the ass to the young orphan. Elliosa and Kadin, the friends he never wanted, have extremely different views on Zaydin. While Elliosa has a major crush on him, Kadin, being the protective big brother type (Even though they’re not related) sees him as a dangerous jerk, though the question of why he hates him so much still lingers. They are joined by their symbiote partners, Tama who belongs to Zaydin, Pinkie Elliosa’s loveable friend, and Spike the “tough guy” belonging to Kadin. Together with the rest of the school they will discover what it means to be at war, not only with the aliens but also with their own emotions.

About

Seasons & Chapters:

This Visual Novel is based around a system of Chapters and Seasons. All chapters within the first season would be free to play once you have bought the game, and those chapters have been released. The following season would be purchasable DLC due to the size and amount of content that will be put into it. Chapters come out when they’re finished, so you don’t have wait for the season to be finished to continue the story.

Season 1:

The first season begins with introductions to the cast of characters, and the main protagonist, Zaydin, being rebellious towards SCAR Institute and his caretaker, Principal Neolinus. Zaydin must deal with his emotions, repressed memories, “friendship” with Elliosa, rivalry with Kadin, unintentionally befriending another girl at the school, and a dark evil presence lingering in his mind as he goes through this warrior high-school setting. The war that wages between Earth and the symbiote planet, Metamor, threatens to destroy everything, and forces the children of Earth to rise up and protect the planet against the monstrous creatures that are sent to it, but another possible threat looms that could undo what the school has done to protect the planet. As you progress through the Visual Novel you will be sent on required (and some optional) missions to kill the Sym-Monsters sent to Earth from Metamor. Zaydin’s ego and bad temper constantly get him into trouble, whether it’s his caretaker/principal, the Class S president Alastair, or even his own “friends”, Zaydin acts out and antagonizes everyone around him… but is he doing it because he’s a bully, or for some other reason?

Psychopath or Savior:

As you progress through the story and missions you will be given a choice that decides whether you will be punished like a villain or hailed as a hero. In missions you can fight Sym-Monsters and save Civilians. It is required that you fight and kill a certain number of Sym-Monsters, however it is NOT required that you save the civilians, this gives way to a moral dilemma… do you save everyone like a true hero? Or do you let them all walk into the fates they would have endured had you never even arrived? Doing either of these to an extreme degree may result in a secret ending as well as changing the game later down the line, recruiting allies, or causing you to encounter something truly terrible…

Visual Novel Styled as a Kinetic Novel (Kinda)

“A kinetic novel is a linear type of visual novel where no narrative or gameplay choices typical to the latter are presented.”

Symbiotic is more akin to a Kinetic Novel then a traditional Visual Novel, since the story is more linear and the ending is the same regardless of what you ultimately decide to do; however, it is possible to change the difficulty and variety of the game, as well as changing HOW the ending plays out and what happens to the characters. As mentioned above you can get a Psychopath or Savior ending in every chapter of the game, with this comes new challenges, allies, or minor story aspects you wouldn’t see otherwise. The new allies can replace party members in missions allowing you to customize how you play through the missions. The challenges come in the form of unique enemies that are angry, vengeful, and prepared to kill anything they see.

Lemuria: Lost in Space

Lemuria: Lost in Space

Lemuria: Lost in Space is an adventure game. It plays like a first-person point & click adventure game, but by adding two real-time elements (resource management and combat), Lemuria: Lost in Space is closer to an action adventure game than to a classic, story-driven point & click adventure game.

This game isn’t without its flaws, most notably a thin, clichéd story in dreadful English, terrible voice acting, extreme linearity, mindless puzzles, and a superfluous leveling and skills system.

I just finish the game and here’s my review.

Lemuria: Lost in Space is ok. Early in the game i was enjoying exploring the ship and uncovering various weapons until I died…and died. unfortunately, this game has a very difficult survival aspect to it. I played on normal difficulty and struggled to find coolant and batteries and had to spend all my level up points torwards upgrading my coolant and energy to counter it. That didn’t help much which caused me to start to rush to complete my tasks since surviving in this game is really close.

Duck Simulator 2

Duck Simulator 2

Duck simulator 2 is a masterwork of gaming media. The oozing thought and care put into every minutiae of detail really cements this game as something comparable to Half Life 2 or Demon Souls–the trailblazer of the legendary soulslike formula. Some other forms of media I would compare it to would perhaps be the first two parts of the god father, solely in regards to its raw quality. It has completely metamorphosed my conception of the lofty heights that gaming, and things produced for the entertainment medium in general, can reach. However, I feel like using the term “entertainment medium” is a misnomer, because Duck Simulator 2 also qualifies as a spiritual experience. I was losing faith in Jesus Christ until I completed this game, and today I have begged the LORD forgiveness for my sinful misdirection. It was only thanks to this game that Orius was able to redress my waning spiritualism. The auteur of this paragon of artstyle, storytelling, gameplay, and graphical quality, Orius, could be nothing other than a creative genius after bestowing this game upon us, and to think otherwise would be foolish.

Archero

Archero

Dear archer hero, it’s time to answer the call of the world and complete the necessary challenges to become a god!

Using your skillful archery skills, different arrows and the blessings of the bow gods, you can easily destroy all kinds of enemies and complete a variety of challenges.

Don’t forget to defeat your challengers, they don’t want you to become a god!

Shoot!

Draw an arrow from your pack, then build up your strength and shoot at the enemy! The greater the force, the faster the arrow and the more damage it will do to the enemy.

A shot that hits an enemy may break their joints and slow them down. There is a chance of a blast effect or even a kill shot!

Enemy armour

Enemies do not always reveal their flesh and blood, but usually wear armour of varying strengths in different torso positions, including light, medium and heavy armour.

Usually some enemies will be able to tell at a glance which type of armour is dominant, while others will need to be tried with an arrow.

Each part of the armour has its own durability value and will protect its owner with a response damage reduction parameter until it is depleted, but some arrows can penetrate directly regardless of the armour.

Types of arrows

When facing enemies without armour, or wearing light, medium or heavy armour, the different types of arrows are more effective and are

Normal arrows - average muzzle velocity, penetrate light armour and dent medium armour, but break when encountering heavy armour

Barbed arrow - higher muzzle velocity, penetrates and deals a lot of damage to unarmored and light armour, breaks on medium and heavy armour

Flat arrow - low muzzle velocity, dents almost all armour and loses a lot of durability

Sharp Arrows - Very high muzzle velocity, can penetrate all armour types including heavy armour, but do less damage

Normal arrows are infinite and you will automatically harvest other arrows from the Bow God on a regular basis, so remember to be flexible!

Growth

You gain experience by hitting enemies. Each time you accumulate a certain amount of experience you can upgrade and choose one of three random growth paths. Feel free to choose your own direction of development!

God Wishes

Wishes will accumulate automatically over time, and each successful shot will accumulate more wishes. When they are full, they unleash powerful aspirations.

These skills last for a while and come in different types: from rapid fire and knockback to charm and disguise, each of which has its own use to help you defeat the enemy.

Divine Rites

Each time you achieve a part of your goal, you will receive a gift from the gods. You can choose from a variety of different rewards, from special passive skills, divine wishes or special arrows.

Bow

Find bows with different attributes from all over the map, or from dead enemies, and use them with a passive skill or a divine wish to achieve outstanding results.

Quests or the Bow God

Complete a series of quests for the Bow God and collect crystal shards to cement your path to godhood. As your strength increases, you can receive various levels and quests such as defence, assault, sneaking and collecting.

Special helpers

Skeletons in tombstones, locked gates, stone throwers for defence, carefully erected stone balls, rickety suspension bridges - the mechanics in each mission will be a great help to you!

Path of Exile

Path of Exile

TL;DR

This is a great game. Try it out, its free anyway.

Review:

Path of Exile is a ftp-Action_RPG game, released 2013 and being under continued development since then, having had multiple free expansions, leagues and content updates. It can be played solo or in a party with up to 5 other people on either soft- or hardcore.

Pros:

-Free to Play, only cosmetical purchases

-dark & gritty style fitting the story and lore

-insanely deep and varied skill system

-smooth leveling experience

Real player with 3648.8 hrs in game

Path of Exile is an incredible game written by New Zealand developer Grinding Gear Games. The game puts you into the role of one of seven possible characters, each with their own story, that has been exiled from their homeland and is forced to try and survive in the harsh and unforgiving terrain of Wraeclast.

Graphics: 7/10

Graphically, the game isn’t absolutely spectacular. In fact, it’s dark, gritty and quite gruesome. It sets the mood extremely well and really gives the image of a dark, foreboding land where the people are oppressed and monsters and bandits are rampant. Some of the areas in the game can be quite disturbing and really set the mood of the game itself. Although, as stated, it is far from graphically superior, the graphics and the design work really mesh well with this game and set the tone the whole way through.
