I love the music, it really suits the gameplay well. Reminds me of an old pc game i used to play Xenon 2. A rogue-like space shooter!

Tunnel of Doom

Tunnel of Doom

A fun game with a unique premise.

I enjoy the combination of tower defense, resource management, and dungeon crawling. The setting is unique, and the story is spartan but functional.

A few points that I feel could be improved upon:

  • Melee combat is very awkward. I assume this is intentional, to promote the use of defenses, but considering how frequently you’ll have to take a pickaxe to a goblin I wish it felt better to do so. I killed a couple of friendly miners by accident simply because of how difficult it is to engage. The pistol is also quite inaccurate; I again assume this is intentional, but considering how valuable bullets are, I wish they were stronger on the whole.

It isn’t bad, but very short. You can either beat it on normal, or play the hard(doomed story) which makes it almost impossible without seeing waves coming, no map and halving your health and other detriments, so it becomes about luck more than any planning.

The normal will take about 2 hours to beat and become quite easy once you get a few cannons. By the 3rd floor of normal I could afk on waves due to having 4 cannons set up, just had to attack for the mobs that were immune to being seen by the cannons.

Lumencraft

Lumencraft

Lumencraft is a top-down action shooter with tower defense elements. Emerge into a fully destructible environment where light and shadow play key roles. Build your base, dig some tunnels and find lumen - humanity’s only chance for survival.

KEY FEATURES

BECOME SAVIOUR OF MANKIND

The year 2221: More than two centuries ago, the surface of the planet became uninhabitable. The remnants of humanity struggle to survive without electricity and light. Dreams of a better future died long ago, but a recently discovered mineral has brought a spark of hope. Lumen, a crystal with high energy potency, may be the last chance for a struggling civilization. Scouts, brave miners, have been sent underground to a settlement near the Lumen deposits. New scouts continue to join this mission, but so far, no one has returned. It seems that the darkness of the underground holds more than just natural riches…

DRILL YOUR WAY TO VICTORY

Fight for your survival. Enemies are going to raid your base so be careful and leave some turrets on the watch.

  • Defending the underground settlement by direct combat and the use of diversified turrets.

  • Highly efficient and satisfying digging mechanics.

  • Explosive weapons. Yes, we have dynamite.

EXPLORE FULLY DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENT

With a lot of effort and a set of original algorithms, 2Dynamic Games have transformed the open-source Godot Engine into a completely new tool. This allows every bit of terrain (pixel, as we used to call them) to be destroyed, and maps can be painted as if in a drawing program. What’s more?

  • Dynamic lights and pixel-perfect interaction with the fully destructible terrain.

  • Dread atmosphere created through the impactful sound design and a unique 2Dynamic lighting system.

  • Realistic simulations. Just look at the lava!

AND MORE TO COME

Lumencraft will be in the Early Access stage, which means we will keep adding new features and polishing already implemented ideas. Stay tuned!

One Shell Straight to Hell

One Shell Straight to Hell

(Review was updated on Dec 2021) I’ve spent many hours alpha-testing this game and decided to buy it on release day. Here are my thoughts so far, a list of positive and negative elements:

The good stuff:

  • Uniquely witty main character.

  • Good variety of unlockable skills and lootable guns, be it primaries or secondaries.

  • The setting: a terribly haunted mansion property set in the 1910’s - 1920’s.

  • The Padre’s voice actor probably smoked 10 cigars and drank too much whiskey. Fantastic.

One Shell Straight to Hell

There’s a brand-new Roguelike indie title on the streets; One Shell Straight to Hell. One Shell Straight to Hell lets the player experience the best of two worlds with its well-put-together Roguelike dungeon-crawling gameplay with a touch of base defense elements mixed in.

At first glance, the game seems to be simple enough with its Procedural Generation World. But as you cross the first stage after finishing a base defense wave, the game becomes something much more.

## Dead Ground

Okay, very short play time on this one, but I was itching to write a review, because so far, I really, really like this game.

Mind you, it appears to be up-grade light, and things move kind of slowly, with no way to speed things up, but the quirky style really grabs me, and what it does do feels very original.

I love that it is procedurally generated though, it is so cool that the levels vary (though not by much, I admit). So far the paths are primitive, a single path from entrance to exit. ADDENDUM: On further play there was one level with two paths. Maybe more complex after that? Fingers crossed.

Dead Ground is a challenging tower-defense game with a twist that you have to defend somewhere between 30% and 60% (on average) of the total enemy HP pool with your hero. Towers play somewhat of an assistant/secondary role in this game.

+ No major bugs, no performance issues.

+ Cool graphics, decent music&atmosphere and steam achievements.

+ High difficulty. (If you like challenging games)

+ Some replayability is present as you unlock new characters and artifacts, although they don't change or add that much.

## Wrack: Exoverse

Well, after a lot of gameplay, I hope I can show what the game has to offer in this review if you are not sure on buying it.

The game is a "sequel" to Wrack, coming in an Arcade FPS Rogue-like Tower Defense(wow!) format, and what we already have it's pretty good and solid. The graphics are beautiful, the animations are pretty good(even on early access) and the soundtrack is amazing like the first game. (at least the ones we have right now)

The start may seem a little slow because there are a lot of mechanics to introduce and items and skills to unlock, but after you start unlocking things it gets much better.

So far, this early into early access, It's already shaping up to be something really cool.

The game emphasises that you pay attention, consider what's the best turret setup, prioritize your targets, and work with the random equipment you get.

If the random equipment gets expanded upon, there is a lot of potential for different types of gunplay and gameplay styles for each run depending on which loadout you obtain, and which enemies you fight, though for what there is right now, i'm seeing some nice replay value.

Lucky me has the dubious honour of writing the first review for BattleGrounds: War, Tanks and Nukes.

BattleGrounds: War, Tanks and Nukes is a paid version of the free game, Battlegrounds: First Blast. It's a minimalist 2D top down tower/soldier defense game where you must send your tanks against enemy tanks and defend your base with the single tower and various abilities you get.

As the screenshots show, the graphics here were phoned in. On a bad telephone line while driving through a tunnel. While the phone was turned off. It's that bad. The level design is terrible, too, it's barely possible to pass the first level. Next to no thought went into level design.

## ❂ Heroes of Hexaluga ❂

Interesting tactical turn based strategy-rpg game where you roam maps, survive, and fight.

There are a lot of different heroes you can buy as warriors, lots of different items both magic and weapons, 3 types of resources: money, food and mana that you need constantly take care of.

Very interesting project, though in early access, "70% ready"

Tactical turn based strategy-rpg game.

Looks good and plays very well.

The game is so very satisfying to play, it has so much charms there and there.

Some ideas are very interesting.

The game features a excellent combat system that's more tactical and satisfying than in most games but without getting too quirky for its own good.

Game still have bugs, and they still need work.

Minuses are - graphics are not the greatest.

Wish the game and developer all the success and look forward to even more.

![Bardbarian](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/269490/header.jpg "")

## Bardbarian

I didn't really know what to expect out of this game. Thankfully, it's not so hard to pick up. It throws you right into the game without any notable intro/knowledge but don't worry, figuring everything out is a matter of few minutes. It doesn't take long and you will be addicted to _Bardbarian_.

 **### ======OVERVIEW======**

_Bardbarian_ takes the Tower Defense genre to a whole new level, where you can actually influence the outcome of a battle, whether you just move differently or have other units spawned. Every level usually somehow differs each time you play it. However, if you play a certain level few times, you can actually remember when and where a specific enemy spawns. That being said, it is not a big deal since you'd have to spend too many hours in this game to actually remember the pattern of spawning. Besides the regular adventure/story mode, there are two more game modes: survival and escape. Both of them bring a fresh air if you're just burnt out of the main mode and I must say that surprisingly enough, I've enjoyed these. Plus you can unlock some of otherwise not approachable units and you can come up with some other interesting strategies. So far I'm using ordinary units more but might give those specials try if I ever struggle with some specific level. And yeah, you'll find yourself struggling with a level more often than you're willing to admit but don't worry, it gets better with almost every upgrade. Far better when you find yourself some comfortable unit combinations. One more noticable thing: sound. The way this game works with soundtrack and sound effects is just beautiful.

Repetition in video games can be draining sometimes. There's only so many times you can jump on things, slash them, shoot them, right? And if that's the case for you the player, what must it be like for the characters actually doing the work? Bardbarian's a game that explores that a bit.

You play as Brad, a barbarian mercenary working to defend a nameless town and its giant magic crystal, which does…probably something important, since every monster in the area wants it smashed, although they never get around to saying what. Trouble is, Brad is having a bit of a mid-life crisis: surely there must be more to life than constant killing? The answer to that he finds is embracing his artistic side in the form of music, and helping other people kill things!

## Reynard

This is a challenging but overall fun game. I love reading through the pros and cons of new weapons and determining whether it will help my playstyle and my char, etc. The bosses are FAR harder than the levels, so watch out!

If you don't have a controller, please note that the controls are really wonky. I had to reassign/rebind a lot of the main keys, and the way it turned out is still wonky, so it might take some trial and error before you find a key assignment that actually feels right. If you came here from the Binding of Isaac, you'll want to know that you can only shoot in the direction you're facing.

If you like rogue likes, dungeon crawlers or old school RPGs, this game should definitely be on your to-do list.

Through procedurally generated dungeon levels Reynard offers practically infinite replayability.

The game rewards your playthroughs with unlocking better weapons and boss coins to unlock perks and tower blueprints, that can make every subsequent playthrough that much more interesting and unique. It features a plethora of different weapons and items, that can be further modified with runes, and even these runes can be forged together, to create bigger and better runes, that in turn make bigger and better weapons.
