Has-Been Heroes
This game is fun but not perfect. The game has 2 major flaws. First, the lack of infomration in the game. I’m sure someone will write a good faq soon that will cover the pages of missing information that should be in the game I’m not talking about damage formulas and such but basic mechnics like Candles. (I saw one reviewer say darkness was random it’s actually 100% non random and a good game mechanic that’s not explained at all). Also the discoverable section that shows what you the items and monsters you have seen is not too bad until you get to the monster section where no special unique abilities of the monsters are listed. Just basic stats. I feel like this was a major fail.

This a duo review of sorts as when I originally bought this game on release I ended up refunding it, I just couldn’t get into it. The games tutorial is pretty much non existent, lots of things are unexplained and many useful mechanics that can be used to make fights easier are not unlocked yet. It was very frustrating, I saw the potential which is why I bought it in the first place but at the same time it felt like a cobelled mess where I was at the mercy of the RNG spawns as to how much progress I made.

HighFleet
Great game that combines strategic gameplay similar to submarine simulations with tactical air battles between flying tanks.
You command a fleet with the aim of capturing the enemy capital city, while fighting off enemy fleets searching for you. Fleet movement is a game of cat and mouse using a very well realised radar system, aircraft carriers, cruise missiles, intercepting enemy radio signals and much more. When two fleets meet, the game switches to tactical battle in which you directly pilot a ship and fight against the enemy. You can design individual ships in your fleet from the groundup and then use them.

The all-time best ever flying submarines in the sky game ever made. Although I have spent most of my time obsessing over ship design, “submarine airship game” is the best description for this FTL-like rogue-like UNFORGIVINGLY Difficult game I can come up with; in campaign, you spend a lot of your time trying to manage 15 different simple things (signals analysis, threat tracking, resources and fleet management, navigation, combat, landing, and then the global story/factions/political overlay of story driven decisions). The ship editor will drive you on the express train to crazytown; every. single. decision. carries huge implications for your campaigns when you start running custom ships, and this gets into the infinitely complex fleet design (what roles do you want your ships to play is critical, and the game lets you figure out your own ways to fail). This is one of my favorite games of 2021.

Sweet Surrender VR
nearly 10 hours in, and I’m a HUGE fan of this game. It has some bugs, but definitely makes up for it by being one of the most fun VR games currently out there by far, in my opinion.
let me say first that the reviewers not recommending this must be incredibly hard to please, you know the type… the gamers who throw controllers, and rage about bugs.
the game just came out, bugs are to be expected. with that said though, I do think this should have been listed as early access.
I’ve encountered plenty of game breaking bugs, such as:

I wanted to like this game a lot. But in the end, I couldn’t. The core concept of the game is great, but it has too many design flaws and way too many bugs.
The Good:
-
Great performance
-
Chip upgrade system is fun in concept
-
When firing on all cylinders, combat situations are a lot of fun
The Bad:
- Bad weapon balance. Two handed weapons are almost impossible to use. I would be astonished to see anyone actually complete a level with a shotgun. Dual wielding automatic weapons will always be the superior choice in every situation.

Tunnel of Doom
A fun game with a unique premise.
I enjoy the combination of tower defense, resource management, and dungeon crawling. The setting is unique, and the story is spartan but functional.
A few points that I feel could be improved upon:
- Melee combat is very awkward. I assume this is intentional, to promote the use of defenses, but considering how frequently you’ll have to take a pickaxe to a goblin I wish it felt better to do so. I killed a couple of friendly miners by accident simply because of how difficult it is to engage. The pistol is also quite inaccurate; I again assume this is intentional, but considering how valuable bullets are, I wish they were stronger on the whole.

It isn’t bad, but very short. You can either beat it on normal, or play the hard(doomed story) which makes it almost impossible without seeing waves coming, no map and halving your health and other detriments, so it becomes about luck more than any planning.
The normal will take about 2 hours to beat and become quite easy once you get a few cannons. By the 3rd floor of normal I could afk on waves due to having 4 cannons set up, just had to attack for the mobs that were immune to being seen by the cannons.

Lake of Creatures
Lake of Creatures is a fast-paced action fishing roguelike, where you’re on a quest to hunt down a mythical lake monster. Increase your odds against the beast by finding loot, while traversing through randomly generated lakes riddled with hostile creatures. Catching and selling fish is mandatory, since buying more equipment will further improve your chances of success.
FEATURES:
- Randomly Generated Runs
Each time you start a new run, new lakes are generated containing different enemies, items and layouts! No run will be the same.
- Combat Modifying Item Synergies
The items you collect define a run. If you manage to find items that synergize well together, you might become an unstoppable killing machine. Getting overpowered is always fun.
- Exciting Fishing
This game doesn’t portray fishing like in real life, because in this game the fish actually does bite. You don’t have infinite time to wait for the bite though, as the night approaches fast bringing out scary ghosts, who lurk in the bushes.
- Fast-Paced Juicy Combat With Roguelike Elements
Satisfying twin-stick shooter, with classic roguelike features, like permadeath, random world generation and gameplay modifying items.
