Ignited Steel: Mecha TBT
Aiming to fulfill its expansion instinct, humanity created an A.I. which controls and manages all necessary resources to expand the human race throughout the galaxy. Soon, a fatal flaw in the A.I. “PharOS” code was discovered: it could not and would not stop expanding.
With the hope to halt PharOS’ expansion, the human race depends on “The Ignited Steel” program, a plan reliant on outdated technology which PharOS cannot control.
Old Mechs from past wars are now humanity’s only hope.
Attacking and moving mechs requires energy and can overheat the mech. If overheated, mechs output more damage while being more vulnerable to enemy attacks.
A key element to gameplay is finding the perfect balance between damage and vulnerability.
Pilots from every corner of the universe volunteer to the Ignited Steel program, each bringing their unique personalities and tactics.
As the Ignited Steel program regains control of the galaxy, new pilots will join the cause against PharaOS.
There’re 3 types of mechs: Juggernaut, Stalker and Javelin, each with their own advantages and counterplay.
Mechs are built using unique modules each with their own purpose. As the Ignited Steel program liberates the galaxy, they will earn and purchase new modules with unique traits.
The galaxy is full of contrasting planets and stories to be told. By jumping from node to node the ignited steel program will discover the galaxy’s stories, and add new modules and pilots to the crew. New planets, pilots, modules, events and missions in every playthrough!

HighFleet
Great game that combines strategic gameplay similar to submarine simulations with tactical air battles between flying tanks.
You command a fleet with the aim of capturing the enemy capital city, while fighting off enemy fleets searching for you. Fleet movement is a game of cat and mouse using a very well realised radar system, aircraft carriers, cruise missiles, intercepting enemy radio signals and much more. When two fleets meet, the game switches to tactical battle in which you directly pilot a ship and fight against the enemy. You can design individual ships in your fleet from the groundup and then use them.

The all-time best ever flying submarines in the sky game ever made. Although I have spent most of my time obsessing over ship design, “submarine airship game” is the best description for this FTL-like rogue-like UNFORGIVINGLY Difficult game I can come up with; in campaign, you spend a lot of your time trying to manage 15 different simple things (signals analysis, threat tracking, resources and fleet management, navigation, combat, landing, and then the global story/factions/political overlay of story driven decisions). The ship editor will drive you on the express train to crazytown; every. single. decision. carries huge implications for your campaigns when you start running custom ships, and this gets into the infinitely complex fleet design (what roles do you want your ships to play is critical, and the game lets you figure out your own ways to fail). This is one of my favorite games of 2021.

Hammerheart
Great start to an early access game! The combat is fluid and exciting, and your tactical decisions make all the difference. I especially appreciate the research and effort into providing a historically accurate experience, all around (finally, Vikings done right!). The devs are very responsive to feedback, and have already implemented a couple of suggestions I had. The amount of content is pretty meager at the moment, but that is expected as the game is still very early in development, AFAIK.

Quality game. Developer has clearly paid a lot of attention and passion to it. A good thing to support, a developer who has put in a lot of time and effort into bringing about something like this. It is about as historically accurate as it can be, and the developer, Bennett, is reaching out to reenactors out in Europe for advice over the era. He seems rather knowledgeable on the subject, and I highly recommend that this game be purchased.
As it is still in development, I would like to include that it also has more room to grow even better. Will update this as the game updates.

❂ Heroes of Hexaluga ❂
Interesting tactical turn based strategy-rpg game where you roam maps, survive, and fight.
There are a lot of different heroes you can buy as warriors, lots of different items both magic and weapons, 3 types of resources: money, food and mana that you need constantly take care of.
Very interesting project, though in early access, “70% ready”

Tactical turn based strategy-rpg game.
Looks good and plays very well.
The game is so very satisfying to play, it has so much charms there and there.
Some ideas are very interesting.
The game features a excellent combat system that’s more tactical and satisfying than in most games but without getting too quirky for its own good.
Game still have bugs, and they still need work.
Minuses are - graphics are not the greatest.
Wish the game and developer all the success and look forward to even more.

Greed
Greed — is the key to success.
Greed is an asymmetrical multiplayer free-to-play experience. One of the players assumes the role of the Dungeon Master trying to stage a rebellion against the god of Greed. The three other players do their best to undermine him by capturing his treasure chambers. Will the Adventurers fulfill their contract with the greedy god, or will the Dungeon Master succeed in his efforts to overthrow his employer? The outcome is in your hands.
The Dungeon Master controls its domain through an RTS-style interface with an ability of direct third person control over his troops.
The Adventurers operate in a Third Person Action mode, relying on combat prowess and teamwork to achieve supremacy.
Both sides strive to take control over the dungeon by capturing as many rooms as possible or by destroying the enemy base.
Key features
-
Asymmetrical gameplay. — An RTS/Action showdown packed in a single game!
-
Griefing is fine! — You love to ruin someone else’s game, don’t you? Greed provides many means of messing up with the others! But remember: your victims enjoy the same opportunities…
-
Procedural generation. — A new game — a new dungeon! Reinvent your strategy every time you connect to a session.
-
Are you greedy as well? — Fear not, for the game is free to play! Call your friends and join the quest for wealth at the price of $0.00!
Rogue Lords
I really enjoyed Rogue Lords, and I decided to write this review as I have a slightly different take from the others I read.
It took me ~40 hours to finish all chapters, and I always played with the same team (the starters: Dracula “the Support”, the Headless Horseman “the Tank”, Bloody Mary “the DPS”). I think I had a total of two game overs, one at the second or third chapter, and one at the second-to-last (but see below).
I read several reviews mentioning that the game is hard and RNG can hit hard. I think they are not wrong, but I did not find it THAT hard: I think it’s more a matter of COMPLEXITY. Damage already starts in the double digits, and it is not unusual towards the end of the game to hit for 30-50 (multiple times). With 3 characters on your side and 1-3 characters on the other side, you can also have several status effects in play at the same time (probably the maximum I’ve seen is ~20). You accumulate this with relic effects and maybe even battle effects, and suddenly it becomes really easy to make a fatal mistake. I remember in one boss battle I accidentally made the Headless Horseman use an attack that steals HP and SP, while he was under the effect of a Zombie debuff (healing received becomes damage), so instead of healing him I made him Vulnerable with 0 HP and 0 SP. Fun times.

Note that while I am giving this a thumbs up, there are definite issues that sour the experience (that I will go into more detail over below). Honestly, this rating should be 3/5, 6/10, or a neutral but we don’t have those options.
Long story short:
Rogue Lords is a fun roguelike very much like Slay the Spire, but not being a rip off in the slightest. It has a unique cheating mechanic and is pretty difficult while also having balance issues and run destroying bug. The concept is unique, fresh, and fun, but the gameplay could use some retuning and class balancing.

SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition
ASCII game, you ask? Many modern age games are noteworthy accomplishments of graphic design. (And, as the technology evolves, tomorrow’s development will make today’s games simply look primitive and stupid.) This leaves us with the questions of what makes a “good game” great? What are the most essential features? How can you evaluate whether a game is worth your time?
Answer: Opinions will certainly vary on this. Fundamentally, I think the quality of the game is simply how much you enjoy playing it. For me, it’s based on the story/writing, game balance, creativity, music, and tactics/strategy. Sure, graphics are important, but without these other features, the game is just eye candy, and it won’t keep my attention.

I had picked up SanctuaryRPG during a Steam sale a few years back. To be real: It was less than a dollar and I was feeling frisky. But after 70+ hours of playing this game, my thought is that the sale price is an insane steal. For the hours of entertainment and enjoyment that I’ve received from this game, I think the full price tag is worth it and I feel almost guilty for paying so little for a game I love so much. But hey, if you see it for 90% off (like it is RIGHT NOW… at least at the time of writing this) I fully recommend picking it up. That’s value.
