TumbleSeed

TumbleSeed

(At this current point in time, currently at 100 hours on steam and around 3000-4000 on the alpha/beta builds.)

So i’ve played this game since it’s been available on alpha.

Throughout since i’ve seen these dedicated developers go onto a multitude of alpha builds to a few months ago going into beta.

They are releasing new content in the future after release, a bit of a spoiler for people there. Can’t confirm whether through updates or dlc / both though.

Now into my review of the game in it’s current state.

Tumbleseed is a.. balancing platformer? If you saw the video or screenshots you’ll already know that you have to balance a ball (seed) on top of a screen-wide platform(Vine). What you might be confused about is how it actually works, which I was before playing it.

Basically, you move each end of the Vine separately up or down. So if you’re on a controller, left stick moves the left end and right the right end. You go up by moving both sides up, etc.

What makes this interesting is the lack of direct control of the seed. Moving around is based on momentum and your ability to approximate how far the seed will roll based on how much you tilt the Vine. It will feel confusing as hell at first and you might have to play a bit to really grasp how much your movements affect it.

Mystery Swords

Just like the first basic trash title by this ‘developer’ called “Space Adventures” this is nothing more than a game template, an asset flip, a base foundation to start making a game. A bare bones start a thousand miles away from being ready to sell.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPeSfFbGrg

Just more lazy trash by another lazy guy who wishes he was an actual “developer”. Running a photo copier on a book doesn’t make you an author, and what this guy has done definitely doesn’t make him a “developer”.

Although this is a newer game, i think it is well worth it. for an early access game there is a surprising amount of things to do and the combat system is really good. Think monster hunter mixed with risk of rain

So far pretty simple but fun. Even better in multiplayer.

Looking forward to more updates.

It’s a very fun game for the first few hours. You unlock the other races, try new weapons, and kill the bosses. Unfortunately the amount of content is limited. Only four bosses (that I have seen), five races (which is a pretty decent amount to be fair), and around 10ish weapons. The game gets old quick and needs more variety. The four bosses are always in the same order and have an annoying unskippable intro where they usually appear out of the ground. The bosses are fun first time round, but I feel maybe a few more in the mix would improve the replayability aspect or the game. Also the third boss fight drags on a bit too long in my opinion, and his regeneration makes killing him take awhile. This game is a work in progress though and the developer seems to update the game every few weeks so It’s safe to say more content is coming soon.

The AI in this game makes me feel like every single basic enemy is the shittiest 12 year old in COD. They have no interest in killing you, only in being a net negative in progression. They will space you out litteraly forever, but not let you leave because they will rush you down the second you turn away. Every fight is agony. The bosses are the easiest enemies in the game, because they behave in a way that makes sense with the tool,s you get as a player. Everything about the game is cool, save for the AI, which makes me fucking hate this game. Difficulty is not giving the enemies instant reaction times, the ability to negate ranged combat with melee weapons, charge at you from off-screen, and work together to deny you resources. Imagine if in BOTW the moment any enemy hit half health ran away from you at top speed, and handed its loot to someone else, dying in the process. That is the AI in this game. The best build is 1 spike on your head, with greasers everywhere else. It’s the only shit they cannot space you out from.

Overhaul

Overhaul

Overhaul is a puzzle rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines fast-paced action, quick logical thinking and rich systemic gameplay.

As Ikalee, venture deep into the abandoned Power Plant to bring the power back to your village. A place that has now been taken over by hostile and mysterious life forms.

#### Game Rules

Each room of the Power Plant is built around a grid puzzle similar to Sudoku. The puzzle is solved when the grid is filled with numbers and the same number can only be placed once on the same row and column. But unlike Sudoku, some cells indicate superiority over another cell, which acts as a clue to help solve the grid faster.

Solving the puzzle is your objective, it will grant you power ups, resources and unlockables. But the Power Plant’s new hosts will challenge your ability to think fast. You’ll have to get rid of hostile entities, dodge incoming attacks and use your items' abilities to get to the Core!

#### Game Features

  • Logic-based Sudoku-like puzzles mixed with fast-paced top down action for a unique experience.

  • Pick up enemies, carry objects and outsmart the most vicious of situations!

  • A hand-crafted rogue-like experience. Hundreds of rooms, each tailor-made to bring new challenges!

  • A rich cast of mysterious entities. Experiment and learn how they can interact with one another and take advantage of it! Some will try to take you down, others hide powerful secrets.

  • Carve your own path through the Power Plant. Each room is different, pick a difficult one for better rewards or an easier one if you want a smoother ride.

  • Each completed room will generate power. Use it to unlock new content and grow permanently stronger or save it to open up alternate paths and supports.

  • Track down secrets and breath life back into the Hub. The more you engage with the game, the more beautiful the Hub becomes! (You may even get some company who knows)

  • A carefully composed score that matches with your progression. From moody melancholic ambiance to blood-pumping melodies!

Scarlett’s Dungeon

I enjoyed the game very much, it is relatively small but it is also the first game he did. Graphically I like it very much, it reminds me of my childhood and that gives bonus points: P

As I said the game itself is small but, he has given himself effort, you can walk into every House in the city and everyone has their own stories and I think that’s great.

If you are in a dungeon, you can always go back to the city to buy new items such as new swords or a new life, weapons there is no big choice, there are 3 different swords and there are currently no more weapons but I think more weapons would not be needed, for the 15 levels that’s enough.
