Fictorum
Note: I backed the game on Kickstarter, thus having played since the game’s alpha.
Fictorum is, in a word, wonderful. For me, it was the first experience I ever had with magic that actually feels really powerful. Magic that I can throw at a nearby house and watch it get blown to bits. But let’s start from the beginning.
In this game, you are a mage. The last mage of your order, the Fictorum. And you’re pretty mad at the ones responsible for the death of your order, and also pretty powerful. Logical conclusion, annihilate them all. And anyone that might be foolish enough to stand in your way. Or… just annihilate absolutely everything. You can, believe me.

First off, if you want a high production value game with a long indepth story, I would recommend Skyrim or The Witcher. That being said, this game has the best magic based combat I have ever seen.
Spellcasting:
Spells are customizable and modular. You have a spell tome that casts a type of spell and you have runes that you can add to the spell to vastly alter the spell’s properties. These runes can do anything from simply increasing the power of the spell to creating a familiar that casts the spell for you. For example, you can take a spell that calls one lightning ball and change it into a spell that fires 4 lightning balls that each seek out enemies while firing their own lightning bolts. You can also find or buy scrolls. Scrolls act as support spells that cannot be modified but can be applied to armor and accessories. By the way, all buildings are completely destructable and can be used to crush enemies.

Fracture Hell
Great game I’m not sure how I feel about different character score bonuses but that’s just a small nitpick. The game doesn’t explain anything about the enemies and I really liked that because it allowed me to learn about the enemy types. Which was oddly satisfying for some reason. There are plenty of different character types to choose from. The effects and sound implementation was well done. I had a lot of fun with this game and it’s only 2.99 at the time of writing which is a steal if you like these types of games.

Pretty decent quality, for what you might expect from a new title on Steam. Good fun, pretty responsive, feels good.
My one massive gripe, is the decision to make ammo-count a thing for your main gun. In my playthrough, despite putting many of the upgrades (hey, upgrades are cool) into ammo, it ended with no bullets.
I think it takes away from the “fun” part of the game: spamming bullets and going “AHHHH!” So consider removing ammo counters for some core weapons and if you feel it decreases difficulty, just reduce some of the round timers.

I Hate Running Backwards
As a huge Croteam fan boy, i confess i bought this game kinda blindly, knowing it had serious sam messy action vibes, but havent a clue about the gameplay.
And what a good surprise. The gameplay is quickly understood and you’ll find yourself wanting to play once more, each time you loose the game.
About the gameplay itself, it is difficult for me to compare to it to something. The screen is moving downwards and loads of ennemies will come to you from the bottom of the screen, while obstacles, weapons and bonuses will come from top. Levels beeing generated rather randomly, each game will be different, you will not find the same weapons from game to game, and level uping your character will never go the same way, as you have to choose one from three random upgrades each time you level up. Your level beeing remived each time you loose. One run you will be tankier with special weapons upgrades, the next time you went for a quicker character with dodging abilities.

I’m a write a review for this game, trying to be completely honest. Here goes:
Graphics:
- graphics are very good, very ‘tunable in options, but the art style is not my preffered one (blocky characters, cartoony shaders etc.. ). Effects are really nice, composed out of many smaller effects to grant big ones (which looks very nice). The only con i have is the collisions polygons (which are technical but a good eye can see them), sometimes a thing hits you or kills you without even touching you (even though you are close). Not a big issue since you have to git gud and you can avoid it all. I’d rate graphics 8/10, even though they deserve 9/10 (due to me not being a fan of the artstyle).

Octogeddon
I was a huge fan of the original Plants vs Zombies, so I got this Day 1. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but much like how a chicken that spits out explosive eggs sprouts from a tentacle, it grew on me! This is a game that doesn’t show its entire hand at once and gets better the more you unlock.
Like PvZ, there is a ramp up from from nothing (1 sunflower = lowly 2 tentacles) to a full complement of destruction (a full garden of bullet peas = multiple legs of crushing, spitting, cutting action!). However, this sense of escalation is built through the entire game instead of short rounds; on the bad side, this means that each game starts of a bit slowly and it takes a while to build, but on the good side, once you build up your arsenal the action is sustained from that point. In that sense, it’s not as much of a dip-in, dip-out game like PvZ since the feeling of a satisfying complete play session is measured in whole playthroughs, not rounds.

This game is juggling a lot of balls for having such simple gameplay, and it gets a lot of it right.
Some examples: the game has ocean portions where you float at the center of the screen and land portions where you roll around. They’re different enough that you have to think about how your purchases are going to be affected by each level type, but similar enough that you can figure it out on your own pretty easily. The goldfish provides enough gold to give you an edge in Hard Mode, so you need to be careful about when you get rid of it to free a tentacle for a weapon. You can spend money on lives, but don’t spend too much or you’ll be underpowered… The balance in all these things is really perfect, and it must have taken a long time to figure out how all that should work.

Molemen Must Die!
(I know the review is shit but I needed to reflect what I am)
Molemen Must Die.
What a hectic game. You can barely take your eyes of the sceen for a second unless you want to be eaten or drilled by those little fluffy bastards. I think thats why I love this game so much. Anyway, why would you want to look away from such a beautiful pleasing game such as this. (Cue the internet where you can’t have an opinion.) I do believe that MMD needs a chainsaw, but who knows what the future holds. Devs are also very sociable, but one gets ready to early. Was ready before midnight once, still dissapointed in him.

Our glorious President has been insulted, and one hot young mess of a woman who doesn’t believe in apologies, or forgiveness, or the oppressive shackles of sleeves won’t stand for it. It’s time to take the fight to the Molemen by delivering the biggest freedom bomb we can fit on an 8K monitor.
Molemen Must Die! ain’t your daddy’s shoot-‘em-up power-trip rogue-digger arcade fantasy. This is raw, unfiltered ice cold revenge served straight from the tap, no ice cubes, no orange wedge, no stupid sea salt around the rim. You’re gonna let those Molemen have it like a Truck-stop Sheila; hard, nasty, splattered across the pavement in a finish so ugly only Rorschach could appreciate it.

Square Shooter
Found this on the “soon releasing” page and wishlisted it, thought it looked cool. Was worried it’d be overpriced, but…..only $5.
Pros:
The art style is simple and very chill.
The dev states its 100% skill and they are right. Even when I died I didnt get mad at the game, because im an idiot. I got into cat & mouse shoot out with the enemy and it actually made me laugh.
Levels are destructible, except for stuff you and ricochet your bullets off of….these 2 things make a simple roguelike incredible.

It’s a good game.
It doesn’t take up very much storage so it’s good if your low on storage.
It isn’t very system demanding and it doesn’t take much to run. (I’m on a chromebook and I think I meet the recommended requirements)
and I can also see how this game can grow over time
the game isn’t much now but it has just started.

Great Game, Loved how much fun i had!

So you’ve read the description and now you’re down here in the comments trying to figure out what’s it all about. Click the video above to see some of the gameplay, mechanic and hear my thoughts on the game.
Appetite for Detestation is a 3D beat’em up set in the Victorian era where you get to play as the monster reeking havoc on the citizens in order to satiate your blood thirst. After reading that description I am sure you are, like I was, hype to jump into the game and get to slaying. Well, let’s talk about the positives of the game first. The music is probably the best part of the game. It’s eerie, inviting and sets the mood for a monster of the time. The environments are also well designed; plenty of destructive pieces and platforming to be had in each level.
