METALLIC CHILD
Metallic Child starts us off in the aftermath of an AI rebellion, where the protagonist android (Rona), needs our help to stop a spaceship on a collision course with Earth. She was damaged from trying to stop the rogue robots herself, so she needs someone who can control her directly via remote uplink. You happen to be her first contact, and thus her mission becomes your mission.
You see, in this game, we may be controlling Rona, but we are playing as ourselves, as a person. Rona will be talking to us directly throughout the entire game. This is a subtle but distinct shift in perspective that - when done right - makes the connection a lot more personal. It’s a premise that’s only possible in video games, but sadly I don’t see it used all that often outside of visual novels. Some of the world-building is done this way. For example, when Rona explains how she consumes a core, you could ask her what it tastes like. She’ll give you a funny look and say that it tastes like raw eggs XD.

Normally, I’d play a bit more before reviewing a game but after 2 hours I’ve beaten the first stage and have a pretty solid opinion of the game. I’ll update this review once I beat the game but, for now, some pros and cons…
The Good:
This is a fantastic Mega Man meets rogue-lite, except replace Mega Man’s lemon dispenser with melee weapons. At the hub you choose a themed stage and boss, each stage has multiple levels and when you beat the boss, you get a themed ability based on the boss’s abilities.

Honestly I don’t think this game is bad as the reviews, but there’s some problems in the game that should have been addressed 1.you have no I-frames so when you’re in a monster house room they can just instantly end your whole career 2. when said career is ended you can have a glitch to where when you go back to the dungeon your character insta dies (restarting the game fixed that for me 3. enemies go through the walls which IS TOXIC AF 4. some enemies seem to crit? Or I just got booty pounded by enemies stacked on top of each other at the same time which is also lame 5. those little bunnies that constantly like to spam heal are a cancer upon society. Overall the game plays pretty well and the story was interesting from what I could understand obviously english isn’t the first language, so they did alright considering. The game doesn’t explain a lot of things that can make you think you’re stuck which is frustrating I literally watched the cutscene with future anubis like three times because every direction I went to took me to that cutscene before I figured out to use the fast travel to get to the next area. For free though it was fun-ish

In my 34 years on this earth, well, I guess you could say I’ve become a bit of a video gamer enthusiast. After my father passed away in 1998, he left me a fortune. I was a young boy living in a tiny apartment with my single mother. I practically was forced to raise myself. I turned to video games. They have gotten me through the thick and thin. All the millions upon millions of dollars that my father left for me has been spent on said video games. Simply check my profile! I have thousands. This game has been, by far, the worst I have ever played.

RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore
To start off, the game has been ported pretty well and handles very nicely on PC. The initial loading time is a bit long, but I do have a PC that classifies as old by now, so it could be that as well.
The gameplay is smooth and simple in the correct way. Hit your opponents while doing your best not to get hit. Dash-canceling attacks to avoid getting hit comes in handy especially when wielding heavier and bigger weapons, but those still need some more practice than the fast-hitting ones.
The vibrant and colourful visuals are pleasant and relaxing, providing a nice contrast to the fast-paced action. The rooms can at times get cluttered and sometimes it’s a little difficult to follow what’s happening on the screen, but it’s more an exception than a rule.
