The Last Hope
Running simulator
In the game we play the role of a viking who must save the world. To do this, he has to go through several portals in order to reach his destination, which is Mars. In addition, we have to control life, collect food and drink. On the road we will also meet various enemies.
And now what does it look like? The game is to run from one point to another in front of you. Eating and drinking is useless, all we have to do is find first aid kits, which usually lie on the road. Enemies are bugged and don’t want to attack us, so the whole game is based on running through yourself. And so through 5(?) locations.

I am walkin' to the limit! I am walkin' to the limit! I AM WALKIN' TO THE LIMIIIIIIIT!!!!!
The Last Hope is a game about walking to a destination which you have to discover while making sure you survive to meet it. During your quest, you will need to maintain your health, hunger, and thirst…which can become quite a challenge in various areas (this limit is removed the moment you board the plane to the USA, which makes the experience more casual and enjoyable). The overall objective is to push a small object a short distance (like nudging it off a cliff), but with a very long run towards the destination.

Eagle Island Twist
Eagle Island is an amazing rogue-like game that will draw you in and frustrate you in the most rewarding you. It’s exactly the game I’ve been looking for and I’m very glad I picked it up. 9/10
How I found it.
I found EI when browsing through Nintendo Switch news. I’d been looking for a new indie game to pick-up and it was suggested as a new release. The pixel art immediately caught my attention and I added it to my to-buy list. I saw there was a demo available and decided to try it out on PC. It was fun! The demo was very fun and I had a very hard time getting used to controlling Quill (main character) and Koji (friendly owl - he attacks) but didn’t let that stop em from enjoying the game. At that point, I wasn’t in the best financial position to spend 20€ in a game. But something just drew me in. Something just told me, I have to buy it.

My original review was written extremely shortly after the game came out, but the developer has released an update in response to the mixed reviews that actually addressed a lot of my issues here! There were quite a few tweaks and overall it feels a lot better. Most notably, the runestones are now able to be backpacked and used in later dungeons, which is incredibly useful.
Additionally, I will confess that some of my complaints probably did come with lack of practice or familiarity. So if you are more familiar with this genre, or would be willing to dedicate time to getting used to the feel of the game, I’d say go for it. I’ve got 11 hours in the game now, and it may be a combination of tweaks and me getting more comfortable with the controls, but the whole thing feels a lot smoother and less frustrating.

Full Mojo Rampage
Review edited for release… still nothing but good things to say about it!
There is tons more I could say about this game and how much I enjoy it than what is in this review, so free to message me on Steam if you have any questions. I highly recommend this game if you’re looking for something new in your action roguelite/dungeon-crawling experiences… it was the most polished Early Access Alpha I had ever played, and is even better now that it is released.
Graphics
Very nice and consistently styled, even in the character screen. The choice in what a friend of mine put as “playful yet macabre” is spot-on, and a very nice change of pace from others (not that those are bad, but FMR is a unique breath of fresh air).

If you didn’t think there was enough “Gauntlet” in “Gauntlet”, you should probably invest in this. I will mention Gauntlet rather a lot in this “review”, btw.
The first point, and it’s a reasonably large one, that this game scores over Gauntlet is that it has genuinely random (thus replayable ad inifinitum*) levels and a fairly expansive character customization section make this a far more worthwhile purchase. Gauntlet promised randomised, limitless levels and failed to deliver, preferring instead to rotate a level through 180degrees or make you do them “the opposite way round” (from start to finish in a ‘death’ level, for example). It’s obvious, woeful and does nothing to hide the fact that you’re always playing from a small group of levels that can easily be remembered, no matter what way round they are.

Operation: BoomSlang!
What a strange little indie game that has a tonne of potential… if it can be given care until final release, that is.

Man I have to say… Getting some Babo Violent 2 vibes hear haha😎*_*
Operation: Boom Slang! has quite a fast pace to it, witch i really enjoy! It has a lot of action and strategy, you are constantly on the move with tones of kick ass explosions surrounding you where you go, as well as shweet game play, I do love the fact of timing your shots just right in games, and the fact that they included the ability to dash really makes you feel like you can seriously kick some butt. There is definitely a great balance between weapons and ability, having that said, I feel like the Rifle could use a bit of an upgrade (like maybe shoot a bit faster).

Setting Sun
Setting Sun is an Co-op Rogue-lite Dungeon Crawler.
It’s set in a universe during the Japanese Edo period where Yokai roam the world freely.
The land is in turmoil because the Shogun rules with an iron fist.
A couple of wanderers answer the call to help mankind and fight the source of the corruption together.
THE SHOGUN’S DOMAIN
Traverse through a randomly generated room-based dungeon covering multiple zones on your way to the castle.
Several different types of rooms can be discovered on your way to the boss like enemy rooms, healing rooms, gamble rooms,…
THE SHINTO PANTHEON WATCHES OVER YOU
You have a chance to discover Dragon Shrines in the dungeon which will allow you to alter your abilities for that dungeon run.
So each time you start a new dungeon run you can try out a different build.
REBUILD THE VILLAGE
Aside from the dungeon the game also contains a village.
The village is like a sanctuary for the player where he can roam around before and after dungeon runs, talk to NPCs, buy upgrades, craft gear and more!
When you first start the game, the town is pretty abandoned.
But along your travels in the dungeon, you have a chance to find new characters to recruit to your town which unlocks new features.
For example finding Masamune on your travels will unlock the blacksmith in town and will allow you to craft new gear with better stats.
THE WANDERER
Multiple classes are planned but the first playable class in Setting Sun is the Ronin.
A Ronin was a Samurai without a master. An expert in the art of sword fighting but one who chose not to honor the code of the Warrior and thus considered “on his own” or a vagrant.
MAIN FEATURES
-
Slice your way through a procedurally generated dungeon
-
Master a skill-based fighting system
-
Learn the ways of the Ronin class (and several other classes planned)
-
Fight the Shogun’s army, thiefs, Yakuza and even Yokai
-
Try out different builds each run by discovering new blessings

A really nice mix between base building, Rogue and Strategy with a simplistic style which fits the game. Love that you’ve to mix between being not too bold and expand too quickly or take it too slow and not be prepared for the bosses.
Keep it up developers!
