Space Scavenger
I absolutely love this game. In a nutshell, you are trying to survive four levels of “alternate space” – a normal area, an infected area, a solar-fire area and a robotic area. The thing is, the tiny scavenger ship you start with will never make it but you can “MacGyver” a passible fighting ship off the things you scavenge along the way (or possibly purchase in a shop). This part of the game, crafting the ship, is just as much fun as the actual fighting, trying to figure out how to make everything fit (and yes, if your ship is really huge and unbalanced, it will handle like a truck.

The visuals, the game play, and everything the RedCabin team have added and improved on is amazing! Im so happy I got the chance to talk to the team and ask questions, and learn more about the game itself. These guys deserve all the praise they get when it comes to this game.
Pros: The game has great visuals, handing for both controller and mouse/keyboard, and fun game modes. The game challenges me all the time to do better as everyone who plays is put to the test during the daily challenge. Even the music and sounds are fantastic, and very relaxing to chill to.

Captain Forever Remix
This game is awesome.
I’ve played plenty of 2D shooters in space, and this is by far one of them.
I have a lot of praise and a couple of complaints. I’ll skip the praise because you can find that elsewhere, or just look at the gameplay for yourself.
This game’s difficulty curve is ridiculous. Assuming you, like me, haven’t played the original game, you’ll be thrown into the gameplay right away with very little time to adjust to the unique mechanics of ship-building and combat. There are a lot of different parts to build with and constructing a powerful ship is more nuanced than throwing a bunch of pieces together. In many cases, a tiny ship is more effective than a large ship, but building a large ship is half the fun.

Sipho
It’s a very fun game for the first few hours. You unlock the other races, try new weapons, and kill the bosses. Unfortunately the amount of content is limited. Only four bosses (that I have seen), five races (which is a pretty decent amount to be fair), and around 10ish weapons. The game gets old quick and needs more variety. The four bosses are always in the same order and have an annoying unskippable intro where they usually appear out of the ground. The bosses are fun first time round, but I feel maybe a few more in the mix would improve the replayability aspect or the game. Also the third boss fight drags on a bit too long in my opinion, and his regeneration makes killing him take awhile. This game is a work in progress though and the developer seems to update the game every few weeks so It’s safe to say more content is coming soon.

The AI in this game makes me feel like every single basic enemy is the shittiest 12 year old in COD. They have no interest in killing you, only in being a net negative in progression. They will space you out litteraly forever, but not let you leave because they will rush you down the second you turn away. Every fight is agony. The bosses are the easiest enemies in the game, because they behave in a way that makes sense with the tool,s you get as a player. Everything about the game is cool, save for the AI, which makes me fucking hate this game. Difficulty is not giving the enemies instant reaction times, the ability to negate ranged combat with melee weapons, charge at you from off-screen, and work together to deny you resources. Imagine if in BOTW the moment any enemy hit half health ran away from you at top speed, and handed its loot to someone else, dying in the process. That is the AI in this game. The best build is 1 spike on your head, with greasers everywhere else. It’s the only shit they cannot space you out from.

Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition
This game feels more like a concept in progress rather than a finished product. I have to state this one thing before I start saying anything else. The concept is great, too. But the game-play feels lackluster without more content to flesh out the existing gameplay.
You will spend about 80% of the time mining resources on planets and salvaging resources with a tractor beam while fighting aliens whether you do it yourself or send your clones to do it. The available resources are incredibly limiting and often infuriating in how little is available for what you need despite entire planets that realistically would have more than just the one patch of resources you could collect.

Genesis Alpha One Deluxe Edition Review
A strange and unique experience awaits…
Some key points that this game offers:
-
New Game Plus
-
Multiple Endings
-
Sandbox experience
Gameplay & Controls:
The controls for the game are fair and easy enough to make use of. The game handles pretty decently as well. Whether you are on a planet fighting off attackers or crawling through your shafts clearing out infestations.
Combat is pretty average, to be honest, and not that well balanced either. Your favourite weapon will be the pistol since it doesn’t run out of ammo and is far easier to make use of. The game is a mixture of ship building, exploration and simulation elements. As you explore planets and debris, you upgrade your ship to accommodate more crew members and gain access to newer technologies to make surviving easier. You don’t really manage your crew, they go about their own thing, food, water, and all those needs are non-existent, which is a let-down.

IIslands of War
The game is currently in development, and alot of the content is pretty barebones, and needs some more content. It has a solid core gameplay loop, wrecking iislands and going forward. The good thing about it being under development is that it will always keep improving, and with an developer that regularly interacts with the community, you can come join the discord to suggest ideas that would come to the game, or voice your opinions about balancing or anything of the sort.
Although it is a great game, I still have some gripes about it. Alot of the gameplay is unbalanced, such as the loot being dropped, which can both screw you and let you fly through the game at the same time. I find that movement items do not drop very frequently, and some things are not clearly explained, even in the tutorial. After a first few battles, you already have enough firepower to plough through the realm with ease, as the weapon drop rates are absurd. Combined with the fact that enemies don’t scale with the power of the player, you can easily grind everything and become a (figurative) god, albeit a slowly moving cube shaped one.

My Current Playtime should be enough of a review. (Sadly not 500 hours yet, but i’ll get there)
For everyone else who i didn’t convince with that here is my opinion about the game:
When i saw the video series from the youtuber called “Scrapman” about free/low-priced games back then in August 2018 I enjoyed it. I liked the 2d Pixelart and have already been searching for a new game (for free) to play. So i got it on itch.io where it was released before steam here, and was an active member of its community since then. Now, that it is released on steam, It isn’t free anymore, but in my opinion it is totally worth the 8.19€ (9.99$)

Super Dungeon Maker ⚒ - Fink’s Awakening (Prologue)
I have been playing this game an absolute TON.
If you drew dungeons on graph paper when you were younger, this is for you.
If you’re a fan of top down dungeon games, you’re going to be right at home with this game.
It controls similarly to Mario Maker in the dungeon create mode (recommend keyboard and mouse for that) and the gameplay is really smooth. I do recommend using a controller for playing the levels themselves though, need that controller nostalgia… need to get a classic USB controller just to give me a bit more of that feel, y’know?

I love the game. This is a dungeon creator for a zelda-like gaming experience. If you like to create dungeons and let your friends and strangers on the internet run it, then you’ll be happy with this. For a free version it comes with a lot of tools to create dungeons. Right now there are bombs, a grappling hook, a jumping feather, a shield and fins available to use. Also you can create switch riddles and also a lot of fun stuff. I did a dungeon who you just need bombs for bomb jumps and it is fun.
