TL:DR No regrets, just not good game. Kinda pretty tho. Lost my interest after the first couple hours. Review made on Patch 1.2.0.0.24

Ok, so It took me 32.4 hours to beat this game in nightmare mode, I’m Brazilian so giving up is kinda hard. I do not consider myself to be a good isometric Rogue-like player, despite really liking the genre, but I’m going to put my review here.

First of all I bought it because I really appreciate new Brazilian games and I will buy them whenever I think they are cool, É nois mlk S2.

Gutting Goblins!

Gutting Goblins!

Fun game! Very reminiscent of gauntlet and golden axe! I especially liked kailani’s attacks, if you use the heavy attack and spin in a circle you actually get to attack twice! You get to invent your own bladestorm ability in a sense!

Its just 2$ you cant go wrong here if you like the game style at all.

Took but a few moments to learn, but it gets difficult pretty quick! Overall, very enjoyable game, reminds me of the old arcade style hack and slash.

WHATEVER is the top down isometric cargo ship drifting game.

Remember that ship? Ever wonder how that possible or how hard it is to pilot that thing through the canal? Well, me too!

You will cry and finally realized how amazing every cargo ship’s captain is.

Your mission is simple. Drift the ship through the canal to delivery all the precious cargos in time.

Features

  • Pilot the super heavy ship WHATEVER and handle its extreme inertia

  • 9 super difficult levels with 2 freaking bosses that very satisficed to beat. (Yes. this game has bosses.)

I liked the game challenges:

  1. Platforming on cubes.

  2. Precision challenge - ball usually moves through the cube’s center towards movement direction

but there are floating platforms and rotating cubes that will try to veer the ball off that easy path.

Use the stop ability if needed. Certain cubes will put you back on track.

The game starts with 9 balls and will give you 3 extra ball upon level completion.

I did not like the fact that game over screens mocked me with “advices” like

Git gud! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2524341495

pretty cool stuff, it has balls, spheres, circles. There should be a fat guy skin for the ball to roll around with. fun game though

This game has changed a lot since early access. Now I like the enemy wave system very much. The difficulty level is now a more rewarding experience. I strongly recommend playing, if this was not already the right game the latest update made this the right game.

Bombshell

Bombshell

While it’s not really a bad game and definitely not as bad as some reviews make it out to be, it has a lot of missed potential. I feel with a stronger story that took itself less seriously, and with better voice acting and stronger music the game could be a real blast. Oh well, maybe Ion Maiden will prove to be a stronger experience given it’s using the good old Build engine, the same tech which powered Duke Nukem 3D, the series from which Bombshell was born from? Time will tell. In the meantime, I would say Bombshell is worth giving a shot if you can find it on sale and crave a simple isometric shooter with a b-movie story and playing as a badass female with a robot arm. Because as mediocre as this game might be, Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison is still a hell of a gal and I really hope to see her in more games and watch her grow as a character.

Buggy as hell, and very unpolished. Started out as a fun game, but by the end it was just frustrating and stupid. I didn’t even get the final weapon because the game’s fucked, which also meant I couldn’t do 2 of the challenge missions, which were some of the most fun parts.

I initially started playing this because I wanted the backstory before moving on to the related game Ion Maiden / Ion Fury which looks much better than this ended up being.

The WEAPON in this game called Ion Maiden, in railgun mode, is massively OP, kills everything except bosses in 1-2 shots, and pierces, so if you line/group up a few, kill ‘em all at once. It’s energy based (no bullets) and recharges its ammo at an ok rate, which gets faster as you upgrade it. It auto-aims too, but I think that’s all guns because the cursor targeting is really fucky. The only time I have to switch to other weapons is if there’s an extended battle and I can’t be waiting for the railgun to recharge. This also means that most of the ammo pickups scattered around the game are useless. One enemy is an ice skeleton enemy with shield, and sometimes they “block” (even though there’s no visual indication except that they are standing still) and if you shoot them it reflects the damage back at you. So…I’ve killed myself on that many times.

Marble Trap

Marble Trap

Marble trap is fine, it plays fine, it looks fine, and the music is fine. The game is short and can be beaten in more or less an hour. The game does include steam achievements but they are all for beating a level, and by the end you will have all of the achievements unlocked. It would have been nice to have some more achievements based on for example how fast you beat a level, or how little you die in the later levels, etc. Marble Trap does However has a leaderboard so if you are into that stuff, this game might just be for you.

Wow. I’m actually impressed with this game. You only use the arrow keys to play, but it doesn’t detract from how involved you feel while playing. I especially loved how very user friendly the controls were - very precise and on the money when it comes to where you want the ball to go. It’s also pretty fun to be careening around corners and speeding past obstacles at just the right time, slowing down only when strategically needed.

My only nitpick is the level-select menu, which was needlessly complicated by the poor placing of the ‘next page’ button - resulting at times in my selecting everything except for the ‘next page’ button. However, I liked the game despite this flaw. Largely, a very lively and well-made game. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I even bought a second copy for a friend! :D

Medievalien

Medievalien

IN A WORD: MAYBE

IN A NUTSHELL:

WHAT TO EXPECT: Real-time combat. Action Roguelike. Medieval setting with alien technology and enemies. Fast-paced ARPG styled, ranged and skill based combat. Excellent range of alien enemies with different travel and attack types. Large arsenal of medieval and alien ranged weapons. Passives and skill power-ups instead of character levelling. Changeable level modifiers. Procedurally generated isometric maps. Unlockable hub trainers. Single-player only.

Real player with 33.3 hrs in game

Medievalien is a very pleasant action roguelike which combines the procedural generation of a classic dungeon crawler with the new-age feel of your favorite phone shoot ‘em ups like Archero. It’s easy to get into and play a run, and it’s not a big time commitment. It’s a game that’s constantly being added to in terms of bug fixes and new content. It helps that the developers are extremely receptive to feedback and the like. And while there are some bugs (which I expect in early access), they are few and far between. Most of them will not impact game play in any significant way.
