Bouncing Hero

Bouncing Hero

Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the “lowest historical price” on steam at time of purchase.

Quick score: 3/5

Things I disliked:

The game is pretty basic and repetitive. And visually never changes at all really.

There is no way to exit the game outside of alt f4

There is a “bug” with the challenge mode where if you last played story mode in “perfect” mode and then switch to challenge mode, you will still only have 1 life.

And the final stage almost made me refund the game out of rage.

greenTech+ Legacy Edition

greenTech+ Legacy Edition

DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review

greenTech+ is a game developed and published by Vertigo Gaming, the same person behind the Cook, Serve, Delicious series

The game offers some really nice graphics and a nice yet simplistic aesthetic which is pleasant all the same and has some amazing attention to detail even though it is a little rough around the edges

The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless and ends just at the right time

Look at first clip. This is the game. It’s good to kill a few minutes here and there.

But it have some cons: 1. Full screen only

2. Low resolution

Both combine to really bad pixalated and not in a good way graphically.

3. Exit the game doesn’t really works when pressing on Esc.

All in all, it’s good.

.99 cents is an insult. i would pay 9.99 for this

i wish jungle strike had been this good. i wish nuclear strike had been this intense. holy crap i have no idea where to begin

the title screen explodes into synths that would make kenny loggins weep. the menu is clean and simple and quickly gets you to exactly what you want, all while that music keeps it bumpin. training gets you comfortably and confidently in the air. instant action like raiding enemy bases or hopping from island to island defending yours. free flight that lets you customize the engagement. a campaign to test how many days you can last completing random objectives. a really informative weapons menu that i could not even pay attention to cuz of that sick music

Saturn Quest: Shadow of Planetus

Arkhouse makes very strange games that tend to be as unique as they are confusing, but they are also very rewarding if you manage to find the patience and push through them. This game has a ‘boss rush’ and ‘bullet hell’ aspect to it, however, it is a multigenre game that incorporates some occasional platforming, space shooting, and top-down exploration, not to mention the signature ‘WTF Arkhouse narrative’. That being said, every time I play a game by Arkhouse it’s a steep learning curve as the games never work exactly as one would expect. I have been somewhat harsh on the developer in the past, but not because I did not enjoy the games - if anything I wish they were a bit more accessible to the general public. Compared to previous titles like Mirage of Dragon, Saturn Quest is not too difficult to navigate as long as you not skipping the dialogue. Arkhouse games tend to have hidden passages so you need to read the dialogue for the hints or you going to be running around the map completely clueless.

Creekside Creep Invasion

Creekside Creep Invasion

This is a extremely fun action rogue-lite/rogue-like game with a 1980’s Halloween theme that has become one of my all time favorites. It has procedural generation (No two runs the same) with hidden and very difficult areas throughout the game. Ability to shoot in any direction with crazy cool Halloween themed ammo (like eggs, candy corn, and the ability to make all ammo explosive) that automatically changes to different ammo when current ammo is exhausted. You have gigantic bosses that drop gigantic loot. You have a 5 slot perk based armor that could give you good or bad effects. Controls work great on keyboard, which I play mainly. One of my favorite things beside all I have listed already is costumes.Yes….you get Halloween costumes that have active and passive abilities which make for some really fun runs. More are being added to the game frequently.I don’t want to give to much information that may spoil others fun away so, I will just say again the costumes really and I mean really change each run in a super fun way like no other rogue-lite/like has for me. All this plus an art style that has so many references and amusing through backs to the 80’s that you have to take time to thoroughly look on each level to catch every one of them to appreciate how cool it is.I keep seeing new things I missed run after run. Creekside Creep Invasion is a hidden gem so far that many more should discover. There is fun to be had for rogue-like veterans and anyone that enjoys a fun challenging game.To end it I’ll say another one of the awesome perks of the game and one of the most important in my opinion is a really nice, informative and accessible developer. It has been a real treat to interact with and get to know him.

I LOVE rogue-lites and rogue-likes, and the occasional twin stick shooter. This game sort of fits both shoes without leaning left or right to hard. This is a gem.

Character progression follows in a large number of unlockables which are rewarded for their corresponding coin or token, each has a upwards facing arrow but in different colors. Collecting these in numbers unlocks weapons, costumes and upgrades the Store - your spawn point and safe area found after each world/area.

The Costumes are basically your special weapon. By spending some of your Stamina you can use the special attacks.

Serious review alert, no memes here.

This game is a hilarious action platformer and is genuinely really great, it’s definitely one of the funniest games I’ve ever played but also has challenging and fun gameplay, though it’s a bit unpolished and frustrating at times.

There’s a lot of small bugs I encountered, but they were mostly just funny to see and didn’t really get in the way (a boss once froze in place and just let me kill them, moving platforms act strange when you go at them from the wrong side, and other even smaller things). There’s also a lot of framerate issues stemming from the lack of optimization, but it’s mostly just during cutscenes and doesn’t inhibit gameplay too much.

RPG World - Action RPG Maker

RPG World - Action RPG Maker

Where to begin? Diablo meets Disney, Never Winter Nights meets Legoland. This game is great on so may levels.

Whether you like playing action RPG’s or you like to craft worlds/scenarios for your friends to enjoy, Single player, multiplayer, PVP, World editor.

I can honestly say I’ve not found a game that appealed so much in a long, long time. Mostly it is FUN. Fun to build, fun to play. Challenging if you’re a serious mayhem seeker, entertaining if you just like to explore.

Since I wrote the above the game has received a steady stream of upgrades in terms of new buildings, props, collectables, choosable theme music, new npcs and enemies, a brilliant character creator so you can build your own npc’s and enemies from a huge range of body parts and AI’s, upgrades to questing making it much easier to control the flow of play. The dev’s have been seemingly tireless in their dedication to fulfilling the game’s early promise.

NOTE: This review is written while the game was in Early Access at 25th of april.

You know, I’ve always been a person who likes to build stuff. That’s why I LOVED to play with LEGO. I used to build all kinds of stuff. Cars, buildings…whatever I preferred, as long as I knew how the pieces connected to eachother. Because how hard is it to build a tower when you don’t know how your tools and bricks work? That would be a mighty challenge even for master builders…

The hobby of building things kind of continued when I started playing video games, so I bought a game like MyWorlds before called Fight the Dragon. That game had an amazing level editor with lots of tools to play with, including a lot of ‘‘invisible’’ mechanisms like triggers and such. Unfortunately that game is suffering a slow and silent death due to lack of players, which brought me back to the quest of finding a game where I could express my fountain of imagination.

School of the Dead: Anastasia

School of the Dead: Anastasia

I don’t enjoy many shooter-type games. This one, however, caught my attention because of its bright, neon-ish appearance (yes, I’m the type of person who totally jumps for graphics). And probably because both the videos and screenshots looked kinda weird. I tend to like weird games.

School of the Dead is the story about a cute neon-pinky girl named - you would never guess… - Anastasia. She sits in class when suddenly a strange accident happens. In a short period of time the school is filled with hideous monsters. Anastasia must find her little brother and needs to get out before it’s too late.

Not bad, i played it and felt in love. I hope dev will add some new levels with the updates because it’s so fascinating despite the little bugs so i swear you it’s the best game you have ever played

Yahrit!

Yahrit!

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

I don’t usually play these kind of games, therefore I must apologize in advance to the veterans of the genre who might happen to read my review and find a lack of comparison with other similar titles. This was an exception for me (and it turned out to be a really fun to play one) only because Yahrit! was created by the team which developed Cellar - a game that will always remain close to my heart. In terms of gameplay, the two tiles have nothing in common with each other, but one can easily see that they do have the same warm and delicate touch. That description is hardly fitting for a fighting platformer game, isn’t it?

Real player with 1.1 hrs in game

The concept of Yahrit is very simple, players can kill each other with a dash or by falling off the ledges. Everything is based on mindgames, trying to anticipate when the others will attempt their dash so that you can get the drop on them right after it. It’s a perfect game of chicken. There is a visual indicator showing when a dash is reloading, which allows everyone to see the window of vulnerability. It’s very simple, but it works very well as it’s easy to use and based on tension between players rather than technical prowess.
