Fluid Lander - フリュードランダー
Fluid Lander is a beautiful mixture of mathematics and captivating gameplay. Playing as Einstein and Newton, the player gains an appreciation for the complexity of the natural laws which govern our universe. In a bonus level, the supernatural world is introduced as Newton meets Jesus Christ and joins him on a holy crusade against Harvard Law School graduates. While slightly unusual, this game is a wonderful introduction into the profession of prostitution and how this field will impact the future of humanity.

This game is fantastic. The fluid physics are cool as all hell, the dialogue is funny (honestly, some of the translation errors make it even funnier) and the story is just so silly that I was laughing the whole time.
With a few changes to certain graphics (removing the blockiness from the levels, for instance), this game would be 10/10, but it’s still a very heavy recommendation. Can’t wait to see more!

The Expendabros
Expendabros
is a 2D action shooter, developed to promote the (at the time) upcoming movie, The Expendables 3. The overrall game is very short (approx. 1hr), but that is to be expected as it basically acts as a free demo to Broforce .
The plot is loosely based on that of the film, it revolves around your team of seven “Expendabros” who are trying hunt down the notorious arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks. Not that you exactly care about the plot, I mean you are only playing the game for destroying everything you see.

Ran through this 2x today on one of my kid’s Steam account. First with a 4-way and then a trio. Immensely fun, intense, short, and satisfying. Basically just a small taste (demo) of BroForce but worth replaying in single player or co-op for speed-run bragging rights. Moreover, it’s free. A big thank you to Free Lives and Devolver Digital.
EDIT: 2014-08-08. There have been both positive and negative reviews complaining about frame-rate issues, including one reviewer with an nVidia GTX 760. While I have a GTX 660, I have only played the game on a pair of other PCs, both of which have an AMD Radeon R7 260. Not once did I experience any frame-rate issues and these cards are inferior to the GTX 760. While I don’t doubt the reviewers problems perhaps the game is less optimized for nVidia cards. I’ll play on my PC over the weekend and comment here if I have any issues.

Transmissions: Element 120
THIS GAME IS GREAT!!!!
I have no idea why the developers did not charge money for this game. This game is basically Half Life 2 with a few different mechanics. The game is even set in the same world. And with Valve not making HL3, this is as close as it gets. I have absolutly no complaints about the gameplay, story, or anything in the game. My only complaint is that the story is to short. It is only four chapters, but the chapters are GREAT. The engine is still the Source engine so no performance problems and a nice physics system. As I said above, this game is basically HL3 - YOU SHOULD BE DOWNLOADING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!

The Source modding community is still very much alive and kicking since 1998. The community has produced many great mods over the years - from birthing the Counter-Strike and Team Fortress series, to creating many popular HL2 mods - including The Stanley Parable, Black Mesa, Minerva: Metastasis and a myriad of other well-designed mods. From this, we arrive at Transmissions: Element 120 - a standalone Half-Life 2 mod that focuses on showcasing several new Source technologies.

Steep learning curve. Insanely great ctf mode (vanilla, unmodded). The mods/ tweaks and customization kind of ruined this game but if you play the TDM or CTF with vanilla settings the beauty of this game is revealed. Im a little surprised there are not more players but dying 1000 times before getting past being a victim probably isn’t for everyone. Full on A+ game if you have the stomach to learn and acquire a samurai like mastery of 1 or 2 of the loadouts.

Bacon May Die
From the makers of Iron Snout (IS), we’re presented with Bacon May Die (BMD), a very similar game design and concept of Iron Snout. BMD is the evolution of IS where the game expands on it’s customization, wacky enemies & physics/mechanics, comes with a 2 player co-op and some other game mode from IS. It’s controls are responsive, visually clean, colorful and well made. The song is a little “funny” that keeps players engaged but can be annoying in the long run. At higher difficulties, it just feels like enemies/your character will ram into each other and you keep losing life. Oh, theres even bosses now. I would rate BMD the same score as I did with IS, a 9/10. Bacon May Die is a wacky, funny, beat em up that is suitable for all ages.

Honestly my first time writing a review on Steam. I’m taking time out of my life to tell you how wonderful this game is. So. It’s wonderful. Go play it. Like. Right now.
In all seriousness this game is a lot like those shooter arcade games I grew up playing in the arcade room. It’s very simple - you run back and forth and shoot as many dinosaurs as you can and rack up your points. It’s a time killer. It’s made me competitive.. with myself.

One Ping Only
A school student project that provides a free, short, and linear exploration experience, quite interesting to amuse yourself with for around 30 minutes (50 if you take it slow). The controls are a bit cumbersome but it’s not a deal breaker since the sub is not damageable. There are several points along the journey where you could exit the predetermined exploration area and end up “outside”, so you might run the chance of getting lost, therefore just pay attention - if you think you’ve gone off the set path, you probably have.

I request that you guys. make a Part two,
The Overrall Eerieness and darksilence coupled with the shock of setting off A creature - (Or Detection Alarm IDK) is absolutely Stunning, the fact that such suprise can be fit into an ending is amazing, and I feel that there needs to be a Part two to extend what went down in the story, overrall, I felt that One Ping Only is Although a tiny bit straight forward, and a tinsy bit odd with controls, It makes up for it with Having to use only Echo-location and Knowledge of Passages mere seconds before the next ping before moving ahead with your crew, If your the kind of Person who wants a simple, yet Intriguing story to get you wondering, then ‘One Ping only’ Is it.

Fly Punch Boom: First Impact!
This game is an interesting take on the RPS formula and puts it into a high action fighting scenario. The action and quick time events make it fun to watch visually whether you punch someone so hard it turns black and white or to watch the stage fatalities such as getting mauled by cats or being blasted off by the moon.
Content wise, with the base content, you won’t have much as you will only have four characters and at least two stages at least from my experience. However, thanks to the recent addition of the Steam Workshop, you’re able to create an endless amount of characters. The method of creating characters is simple and it’s fun to see the end product of seeing Goku fighting Spongebob or Vegeta fighting Wario. Following the guide on creating characters, I would only recommend doing the steps 1-5 as I tried doing step 6 the first time and it wasn’t working out so well. Doing the steps 1-5 is pretty much all you need to do depending on what software or computer you have.

One of my most favourite games.
I found this at the gamescom and played it there most of my time, even played it after it once I got the beta key.
It is a fantastic fighter game in the way you would imagine a dragon ball fight, just BETTER.
I really love this game and can’t wait for the full release when you can fight on more maps and play as more characters, which btw all have different powers and ultimate attacks.

SYNTHETIK: Arena
Synthetik: Legion Rising is an extremely addicting game that I highly recommend if you like sci-fi, arcade-style shooters and online co-op.
Not sure if you want to try it? This game is basically a free “reduced” version of it. Not as addictive, but still amazingly fun. Even though i bought the main game, i still occasionally play this for a bit. Your progress is even shared between the two games!
The main game has one long gamemode that can last up to 30-60 min on average, but this game has 5 arcade-style game modes that only go up to maybe 10-30 min. But that’s if you don’t die, any run can end in literally a minute if you’re reckless at the start. This game is hard, but there is a very unique difficulty customization system.

As someone who found about about this series from this Arena game type, I can honestly say it’s compelled me to get involved. I’ve joined their dsicord, pestered multiple friends into getting it, and have had tons of fun.
Now for the review:
The TL;DR is that is has mechanics that are new. The reloading, difficulty based on what modifiers you select (sort of like halo skulls) and classes and game types. Each class is viable and combinations can come up with some crazy stuff. Top-Down, player leveling but run based rogue-like. You earn passive upgrades but each run is different. It’s free, worth a try, and it has a high skill floor with low learning curve at first.

SWARMRIDERS
An extremely simple yet difficult twin stick shooter that starts and ends with intensity. You’re an unamed person riding on a flying motorbike firing backwards into an endless swarm of what appears to be pink lit alien spaceships. You don’t seem to have a destination seeing as you never really look forward to see where you’re going and kind of just speed into an endless abyss of black, the only colors being your bike, your bullets, and the swarm’s pink lights. What are they? Who are they? What do they want? Whatever the case may be, it’s all irrelevant as they ALL want you dead. Your goal is to obviously shoot as much of them as you can and avoid running into them. There’s only one game mode which is as you guessed it: Endless mode. But even with just one gamemode, it’s quite the blast.

SWARMRIDERS
Awesome and very highly paced game with head banging music to boot.
Looks like an easy game " RIGHT"
Ah don’t be fooled LOL, 1st 2 Ach’s quite easy to nail,
then you need to hit the 120 and 150 sec mark to get the last two :D
I had a bit of a time obtaining the 120s mark and was thrilled when I got it.
Had to stop playing a bit, because the game was driving me crazy in a pleasant way :D
Went back to it in the right mindset and finally cracked the 150s barrier that I so desperately wanted to do :D
