Boson X

Boson X

I started playing this game a little over two years ago after somebody mentioned it in the comments section of a Super Hexagon video on YouTube, saying something to the effect of “If you think this game is hard, then you should try Boson X!” Having been looking for a new game to try out, I decided I might as well buy it and see what the game was all about.

Boson X quickly became my favorite game to play during downtime, such as before leaving for school or waiting to go someplace. I could play it while I was talking to friends online, while listening to music, or if I just needed to get my mind off of something, I could open the game and collide particles until I felt better.

Boson X. An fast-paced indie platformer that requires a lot of memorization of patterns to get you through.

It seems that the objective is to help two (or three if you consider a robot one) scientists discover three particles by traveling through some visual starfield. The goal is to run along blue platforms that emerge from the endless void around you, building up enough energy to spark a particle. This task, as you progress, isn’t as easy as it seems as newer stages bring forth new obstacles, may it be moving white flats, fragile red flats, thick walls, and even rings that emit electric currents. All this game really needs is mind power and complete concentration.

great game. totally worth the price. weapons feel good, tons of levels and a hoard mode, and it gets 100x better with friends. my only complaints are the lack of vsync (on linux at least, idk if the windows version has it) and I feel like the weapons system could have been pushed a bit further. I would like to see some more utilities like temporary invisibility or a dash/speed boost. A chainsaw would be cool too. I give a 9/10 considering the price.

I consider myself to be a social gamer, meaning I often don’t gravitate towards games that aren’t specifically made for multiplayer; however a friend of mine wouldn’t stop recommending Definitely Sneaky But Not Sneaky, and now I’m so glad he did. My expectations were surpassed to say the least, and I absolutely loved the Co-op aspect of it, because of how valuable teamwork can be, and how the action of “Accidentally” shooting my own teammate was never met with frustration, rather a seemingly endless hilarity that eventually became part of the game when me and my brother played together.

Fall Tower

I made a 2D action game. Aim for the top of the tower with a height of 1000m.

The player is constantly moving and flips left and right when hitting a wall. Jump in a timely manner and aim for the top.

Once you go to the point where the flag is, you will be able to return there immediately.

【Method of operation】

Only jumps. You can switch between jumping with the “jump button” or “tap the screen” in the settings. In the case of “jump button”, you can change the position of the button in the settings. You can also jump with the space key.

The Last King’s Archer

The Last King’s Archer

At first I thought it would be annoying to just kill endless waves of enemies, but the use of powers and the increasingly insane different waves of enemies trapped me somehow. I believe that in some update it will be translated into other languages. I missed more items to be able to buy with the diamonds, after all, they are the great reward of the game. At the same time, the inventory is pretty cool. It would also be nice to have new scenarios instead of just changing the background colors in future updates. A good game to spend time killing hordes of enemies, but it’s a very short game, but it’s worth it.

Addictive, absolutely replay-able. The game features beautifully detailing pixel artwork, a tasty little variety of threats/monsters, each with different stats, a bonus of two spells on top of the traditional attack which adds a nice variety, and can prove necessary in its frustratingly challenging and incredibly fun gameplay. It has more than just the base game, but three additional trials/waves, which I definitely love. The game’s simple and well-fleshed-out mechanics are so much fun that just one mode isn’t enough to satisfy how much I want to keep playing the game, having the alternative wave modes available gives more room to stretch out and really play with this design of gaming experience. Also, there are upgrades, and they make an incredible difference; which is also very desirable as it’s incredibly easy to get bogged down under the waves with only the base stats. I really have nothing but good things to say about this game, and it’s only $0.99 at full price, which is unbelievable for a game this well designed. I absolutely loved playing The Last King’s Archer and would recommend it to anyone with a fondness for minigames, arcade games, flash games or sidescrollers. It’s just… it’s brilliant, addictive and incredibly fun.

Bit easy, but pretty fun.

I actually prefer Mouse + Keyboard as opposed to Controller for this.

Graphics

Arguably the weakest aspect of Theatre of Doom. The game itself is far from ugly, but it has the graphical appeal of Path of Exile in its early days. There is much left to be desired, especially after being inundated with well optimized UE4/Unity titles these past couple of years.

Nice challenging game. Controls could be a little tighter and I sometimes clip into the walls. Very catchy soundtrack.

Your progress will result equally from memorizing and recognizing the patterns as well asmastering the mechanics (moving two things at once independently)
