Priest Simulator: Heavy Duty

Priest Simulator: Heavy Duty

Only played the game for a while and stopped when I finished the early access content. As a playable demo essentially, Priest Simulator: Heavy Duty is surprisingly a lot of fun.

The core concept- without going into too many details, is enjoyable. You play as a vulgar-Polish-vampire-priest that kills Shatanists with baseball bats, gun fists, and gravity gloves. You can even slow time by chugging beer.

So far. my favorite weapon in-game is the gravity glove. In function, it’s pretty much the Gravity Gun from Half-Life, but as a glove. Like the Gravity Gun, you can pick up select items from the environment and fling them at high speeds. Items flung do considerable damage to npcs, and when struck, makes them ragdoll with the blow. Another bonus is that when an npc is dead, you can pick up and throw their bodies around with the glove. Unlimited ammunition!

I liked the polish postal like humor, the absurdity of some mechanics and themes, the original presentation in the form of “documentary” with characters being interviewed. It is surprisingly fun to play. Even though it is called Priest simulator I wouldn’t really put it into the simulator bucket - instead its more like its own weird game with a story and sandbox-ish mechanics to play around without restricting you like most games do nowadays.

I think that priest sim can be a great game if some minor concerns get addressed and tweaks happen. It is sometimes unclear when my melee attack will hit and whats the range, during exorcism it is hard to navigate the house - especially drunk, some doors get stuck so you need to improvise - destroying all doors there seems like the best solution because opening them is a problem. I want to play around and see a lot cool weapons and other ways to obliterate enemies as well as more complicated enemies and bosses as content.

Postal III

Postal III

Rather than repeating every other review on here (either saying it’s a laggy, buggy pile of shit, or sticking up for it without any support), I’m just gonna point put the pros and cons of POSTAL III. I personally enjoy this game, but I can see why others don’t. Many people ask if it’s really that bad, and if they should pass on it or not… I think you should TRY it, especially if you’re a fan of the previous games. But don’t fart around, try rushing through as much as you can - that way you can still qualify for a refund, which you may want.

This game is a mess… and let me count the ways.

1. A broken melee system: Postal, true to the franchise, offers many different tools of the trade to dispose of your enemies. And some of the tools include a sledgehammer, machete, fire axe, and something else I can’t remember. But none of that matters because the only one that works is the fucking machete. It is extremely difficult to land your blow on enemies with other weapons, including your kick, but it doesn’t matter because the fire axe and sledgehammer don’t even do any damage.

Absolutely adored this game.

There were a few minigames that I either had difficultly figuring out what I was doing wrong (and still to some degree don’t know what I was doing incorrectly) or the controls right when you start a new one. They aren’t always clear cut, at least to me, on what you were supposed to do. However, that’s something that’s easy to overlook as you can retry them over and over; through that point in the story by restarting that minigame marathon or talking to the person again and given another chance.

Blind Drive

Blind Drive

What an interesting game. Blind drive puts you in the shoes of Donny… A guy who is blind folded and cuffed to the steering wheel of a vehicle and sent on his way down a highway against traffic. I will say nothing more on the story as I don’t want to spoil. Anyway, the gameplay is simple enough… You hear a vehicle on one side of the road, steer to the other! That’s not all though. The story takes some wild turns and puts you through many different and sometimes unexpected situations to test you. In all, the sound design is great and story is funny. For it’s price, I’d certainly have to recommend this insane and wacky journey. Sit back, relax, and happy steering!

It’s not everyday one discovers a new genre - and what a pleasant surprise it is!

Playing eyes closed, flat on my back with surround sound headphones and a wireless keyboard, Blind Drive is a wild narrative-driven adventure.

The sound effects and spatial design create an immersive atmosphere, complemented with excellent voice acting and often hilarious one-liners (“Give me a break; I’m driving blind! Can’t you see?"), while the graphics make a complete mockery of my 32:9 monitor.

For gamers who think they’ve seen it all, Blind Drive is like playing VR with your eyes closed.

Cyberfrags ‘69

Cyberfrags ‘69

It’s time to get your blood up with some lightning-speed FPS action! Double-jump, wall-run, slide, and shoot your way to victory in PvP, Co-op, and single-player. In CF69, the fastest way to die is to stop moving. So don’t.

Single-player:

The Cyber-Nazis have come, and Cyber-Frank is pissed. Grab your hyperspace arsenal and get to fragging ranks of fascist assholes.

Multiplayer:

Play classic game modes like Free-For-All, Capture-the-Flag, and Team-Deathmatch, or test your platforming skills in Death-Relay. Small 6-player maps keep things ultra-fast, so you’d best start practicing, You’re gonna need it.

Fallen Times

Fallen Times

I have such a grudge against this game, I couldn’t stop thinking about it 2 years after I played through the entire thing. This is the worst game I have ever played on Steam.

I bought this game for the meme, thinking I’d somehow enjoy it. I WAS WRONG.

The store page claims that you can play this methodically or speedrun style. I tried speedrun style and got killed almost right away. The platforming was awful. Items and keys were placed in areas that were very inconvenient to grab. Opening gates were way more difficult than it should. Enemies chase you down so if you mess up with something else, they’ll kill you quickly, forcing you to pick them off from far away.

TL;DR Yes, I enjoyed sticking my F***ing Ancient Magical Spear into those goats.

And now back to my review:

If you have ANY expectations about graphics, desing, plot and hell know what else, forget about it.

This game is all about not giving a crap, shooting some bad(or at least worse than you?) guys and having fun with it.

It’s a fast paced shooter. You run and shoot at Sonic speed. Guns are ridiculous yet fun to play with. Bosses are hard. Generaly skill based and enjoyful if you don’t think too hard about how ridiculous it is.

Infernal Radiation (Demo)

Infernal Radiation (Demo)

On Halloween Island, engineers test the innovative way of generating heat. The roots of the power plant reach deep into the earth, all the way to the heart of Hell, where the reactors obtain energy from burning souls. When an accident happens, the infernal radiation contaminates the earth. Inhabitants living in defiled areas struggle with numerous possessions. An exorcist is needed.

Demo version contains:

  • Very simple gameplay, very difficult opponents.

  • Dynamic clashes.

  • 6 demons with unique abilities and battle patterns.

  • A dark history of the island hidden in the reports of the possessed.

  • The choice of the order of exorcisms.

Protocol

Protocol

I am here to update my review. For the most part, it’s been pretty solid besides a couple of key gameplay elements getting stuck, or when you’re trying to enter the ships computer and use the wrong combination it’s possible to get stuck in a loop, where the only way out is to force quit the game and reopen it.

I really enjoyed this game for the most part, but having to figure out if certain issues are with myself missing something or if it’s a game bug can be annoying.

Real player with 17.3 hrs in game

I’ve been waiting for a long time to play this game. For except of the DMC5, Jump Force and Resident Evil 2, the Protocol was most anticipated game for me.

From the beggining this was VR capable game. There are some small bugs, but in most the Protocol is quite playable in VR.

For two hours I’ve played already I was not dissappointed.

1. Graphics looks ok for me, not toonish like quite bunch of other VR games. Some textures are not as sharp as it could be.

2. Gameplay is interesting, but hard, casual gamers won’t like it. Some times you have to do some boring stuff, for example you have to go back for the card, because you forgot it in another terminal. Quite like in real life don’t you think?
