The Hunter’s Journals - Tattered Sails

The Hunter’s Journals - Tattered Sails

The interactive mechanics are not like other interactive fiction I’ve played. It is much more like a table top game. Combat is actually handled in rounds with randomly generated dice rolls. You can speed this up to just show the final result but it’s still a table top way of handling things and I didn’t like it.

In table top games you can build your character to weight the dice rolls through backgrounds, stats, gear, race, etc. This game’s character creation was so minimal that I felt that the outcome of combat was very random. This was a huge interruption to the story because poor results weren’t injuries or delays. Poor results (at least early on for me) meant death.

Pretty good only couple things that very pretty annoying

Game had really nice music on the background, overall game looked good and played well

  • Auto text is too fast for short text its fine but longer ones it skips too fast

  • Frustrating not having time during encounters

  • Also the saving can be a bit confusing/hard to find if you skip tutorial, was starting game from beginning after failing couple times

Maze Mayhem

Maze Mayhem

ARE you burnt out on massive games that requires hours upon days to finish, let alone complete?

DO you find yourself enjoying simple, yet deceptively challenging games?

IS a third question even required at this point? Because all the answers are conveniently the same!

Welcome to my game, Maze Mayhem! This game is jam-packed with 50 levels full of variety. From puzzle solving, to dodging enemies, to avoiding spikes, to dancing around fire, to enemies dancing around you, and plenty of mazes to navigate. Trust and believe me when I say that you are sure to find something new around every level. And with levels being about a few minutes long to finish (assuming everything goes fine), it’s an easy game to play for a few minutes. . .Or maybe even a few hours, who knows.

Pirates of the Asteroid Belt

Pirates of the Asteroid Belt

It is incredibly charming in its unpolished state.

The voice acting is actually pretty good and the premise itself works well.

Unfortunately, the very first “puzzle” is a 4 digit combination lock and you cannot progress past it without figuring it out.

Additionally, the main menu screen is locked behind an in-game console that is inoperable after a certain point in the very first part of the game. I had to use task manager to exit the game.

Definitely not worth your money or time right now.

Raiders of the Icepeak Mountains

Raiders of the Icepeak Mountains

The orc tribes of Icepeak Mountains are threatening human settlements. Do you have the courage and determination to defeat their clans? Try to survive deadly dungeons and level up as an adventurer.

Raiders of the Icepeak Mountains is a 120,000 word interactive gamebook by Adrao, where a combination of your choices and the roll of dice will determine your destiny. The game is text-based, with artwork allowing you the chance to actually see the exotic locations and dungeons you will visit on your journey.

You will start as a novice adventurer, either a fighter, cleric, wizard or rogue, and level up through a series of quests, either those related to the main story of the game, or other side adventures. The dungeons you will visit have some element of randomness to them, ensuring that even if you play multiple times you will still discover some new secret rooms and monsters. You will have to carefully choose between the abilities and spells at your disposal, and manage well the treasure you loot to buy a variety of objects that can help you in your quests.

  • A gamebook similar to those written in the 1980s and 1990s.

  • A dice-based RPG with Roguelike elements. No two games will be the same.

  • Detailed branching narrative system.

  • Play as male, female, or non-binary. However, do note that there is no romance to be found here.

  • Four character classes to choose from: fighter, wizard, cleric or rogue.

  • Over 30 different spells to choose from. Will you use a vampiric ray to absorb the energy of your enemies and heal yourself, or the invisibility spell to pass by them without being noticed?

  • Multiple types of melee attacks and abilities to use. Cripple your enemies with powerful blows, or adopt a defence stance.

  • Dozens of magic objects to use, from magic weapons to potions or scrolls.

  • Hordes of enemies to fight, each with their own characteristics and weak points. Will you manage to defeat orc warlords, overcome powerful elementals, and slay mighty dragons?

  • Several illustrations to enhance your experience.

  • Try several different difficulty settings. Play as a mighty invincible hero, or struggle to defeat the game on the harder modes. What is the maximum score you can reach?

Game looks promising but has a long way to go. Current version is good for a few hours of game play. Not worth buying at the moment, perhaps after a few more updates. Will keep game and see how it develops

This game is really fantastic, the gameplay is very long which makes the adventures VERY EXCITED + the price is VERY WORTH to get this game. if you buy a game which cost $10-20 but it only finished in 4-10 hours, what do you feel about the game? Anyway Puzzles/Riddles are very hard, so it’s really challenging. Issues about bugs, I agree that this game has bugs. But so far it doesn’t affecting the main storyline, while you play the game, the game creator also works to fix these bugs. So YES! I still recommend it, just to warn you that the puzzles is really SUPER HARD, be sure to prepare your heart to take up this challenge.

Real player with 80.0 hrs in game

This game should have been recommendable with it’s low price, Zelda like game play, and Studio Ghibli like art design but instead it’s terrible.

First off the main map gives no details for each zone. The quests are anyone’s guess since they rarely give any hints as to what to do and the only way you can even get a hint is through the library option in the Rodia town and you have to pay for those hints and since getting money in this game can be tediously long, good luck with that. Also something to note is essential items required to go further in the game are made extremely difficult to find because of the vague nature of the quests. Like for example you don’t even get a sword until you do a dungeon first and you can find yourself being cornered by enemies with no means of offense throughout the dungeon and unless you are really paying attention to the text, you won’t even be aware of that fact until you complete the dungeon.
