ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos

ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos

A warning, this is a Visual Novel, not an Action Game.

For players wishing to learn how to find the different branches, there seems to be, in general 4 Heroine Endings, each with Good and Bad, and after each ending, the start screen will display a silhouette of the “heroine”’s ending you unlocked. The first 2 times you play the game, you will unlock “extras” in the next playthrough, so Ending Meteora will be the first, after that, you will be capable of unlocking the second branch for Endings Noa and Anima, and after any of them, you unlock the ability to open the final branch, to the Coco Ending (Final).

This is the best VR game I’ve played so far this year and the #1 VR VN I’ve played to date by a long shot!

The first ending is around 3 hours in but it’s more like a prelude. The full game has about 15 hours of content to get all the endings and each branch adds huge swaths of story and character development so you really feel compelled to play through them all. There are also a couple music videos built into the story that you can go back and revisit any time which gives you some reason to boot up the game every now and then even after 100% completing it. Music videos in VR are awesome!

The Fall of Balance

The Fall of Balance

The Fall of Balance is a VR, fantasy game focused on Colossal boss fights, each with various mechanics, like climbing, character Skills, and others. Although it can be easily compared to Shadow of the Colossus in VR, many gameplay elements make it unique. You will have to trick the giant Guardians in order to climb them and search for their vital spots.

The game is mainly centered around boss fights, but Easter Eggs will be a huge part of the game too, hopefully creating a great and strong community for The Fall of Balance.

please note that this current review is an edit to my original review, it will be quite long but its worth putting out there.

firstly when i first got this game i hated it, i wont lie about that because honesty is the best policy or at least thats what i have been raised to believe. anyways i left a rather hateful and scummy review saying that this game wasnt worth it even if it was literally given to me and looking back i realize i was a bit harsh in my words and judgement. i would like to thank Jake for contacting me and letting me know about the changes made to the game. there was a lot to look at and even with the time i accumulated (its not much but its enough for this purpose) i can now see that many changes were made for the better. there are alot of pros with this game that now allow me to change my negative review to a positive one, however there are still issues i would like to address with the game following the reasons i now find this game worth it.

Unknightly is a very solid stealth game so far. The team has been steadily adding features based on player requests and there’s plenty of fun to be had even in the first few available chapters. Peaking around corners and lurking in shadows just feels great in VR.

The enemies behave appropriately in different situations with guards becoming slightly suspicious if they only catch a glimpse of you or moving in if you’re fully visible and making too much noise. Other guards will also start hunting you if they’re near an alerted friend so you have to think quickly to limit the consequences of an ill-conceived approach. The variety of postures and communications from the guards combined with the clear visibility and noise meters support an observant and cautious play style.

Naau: The Lost Eye

Naau: The Lost Eye

Played on an Index. The game is in early access but has a good amount of content to offer. I would say not speed running the game could be completed in ~ 15 hours. Fun and interactive ways to beat each of the different enemies bosses to battle. There are bugs fixes and game play balance the developers have mentioned are working to bring to the game. They have a discord and are acceptive on feedback. The current weapon selection is good but could be improved upon. Some of the other reviews have mentioned the breaking or loss of weapons but a full play through found it wasn’t too much of a problem and can see it easily be improved when more balancing is done. Plot is a lacking but I feel is made up by the interesting and vast environments.

A fantasy puzzle adventure game with an Indiana Jones feel.

I was a beta tester for this game so was lucky enough to play it before it’s now released in Early Access. I have really been enjoying playing though it.

I very much recommend this one to everyone with VR! I feel like this game has something for almost everyone.

A Very Bad Christmas Eve

A Very Bad Christmas Eve

It has cozy Christmas atmosphere. Something about the music reminds me of Harry Potter. The challenges are fun and I enjoyed playing the game. It was perfect for Sunday afternoon.

Actually I like this game very much. I absolutely love the visuals and their details, the Christmas atmosphere. The music is amazing. The falling snow. It gives me a dreamy, cozy, Christmas mood. The gameplay is challenging and fun. Totally recommend it, has nothing in common with all of the seasonal bullsh*t games.

Atlantis Adventure VR

Atlantis Adventure VR

Atlantis Adventure is beyond Terrible. A really lame VR game. Now where do I begin, first off this game only goes for 20 minutes, and for a 20-minute VR game the asking price is a bit much. So who would want to pay that much money. Also there are no hand animations and reloading animations as well, and the game is so generous that you have infinite bullets, you heard me correctly Infinite Bullets. I feel the developers could’ve made the game a bit more challenging in having to reload but the fact that you’re giving unlimited ammo makes the game so much easier all you have to do is hold down the button and fire away. The only good thing about the game are the graphics despite a few bugs here and there. The enemies are meh, and the boss fights are lame. The dinosaur models look like they were ripped out of a Jurassic World game, don’t believe me take a real good look at the raptors at level one, I swear those raptors look exactly like Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo and the T-Rex looks like the JW T-Rex, don’t people make decent dinosaur models for video games anymore. Also there’s not much AI to the enemies they just run towards you and you mow them down like a bloodthirsty killer, the developers should make the enemies more strategic, for example have raptors attack the front while the raptors ambush the player from behind. Also there were times when I glitched out of the level while fighting enemies no joke I was for some strange, unknown reason thrown outside the pre-determined path of the game and I had to restart.

My recommendation is ONLY for VR arcade centers

This Game has good potentials for VR arcades however, they need to fix the sound, it is just too scattered and you don’t know what you are hearing.

Te sound of the truck is absent

the sound of the lady speaking is absent

Background sound is noisy.. too noisy

the sound of the gun is very low

This game is just good for commercial VR arcades

360 standstill and 3 DOF not 6DOF

BUT the SOUND QUALITY IS BAD!!!!

I will refund for now until these and some other issues other reviewers will mention is fixed

This is a neutral recommendation. This game has lots of negatives going for it. However, there’s enough here that I can still recommend it to anyone looking to support the developers with a game that does have a lot of potential. However, it will need lots of work in a few areas before it would be what I consider a good VR game worth recommending to everyone.

The biggest problem this game has right now is the poor performance. The Unreal Engine has seldom run so poorly as it does here on my RTX 3080 (and no I don’t have any bottlenecks). I had to change DLSS to balanced to achieve a steady 45 frames per second. That’s barely acceptable performance.

Real player with 1.6 hrs in game

Horrible performance.

It doesnt matter if you play at lowest setting or resolution 9000%.

Horrible voice acting and item handling.

When I finally got to swim in the ocean the game might be enjoyable depending on whats avaible to to explore.

You are asking too much money and this should be labeled as early access.
